  1. I see the 702 X has a bit more power? Is this true? Both say they're medium light...??
  2. You better get the plastic just right. Too stiff and the action wont' be nearly as good. Also, not sure how you're going to get the looks of these lures.
  3. At least you got one. That day woulda SUCKED if you lost that fish too ;D
  4. I still get basstrix paddle tails about every month. Keep half, sell the other half. Don't bother with the 2 1/2 in paddle tails dude. 4" and up is where it's at, and 6" is by far the best. I'll sellya a pack for $23 shipped! lol.
  5. Exactly. I'm not sure what the Yum Mega Tube is, but if it's a tube, which it sure sounds like it is, then it's a LOT different then the fat ika. I use a 4/0 hook with my ika. Killer bait.
  6. Yah, I get the real basstrix from time to time and keep half the packs I order for myself, and sell the other half.
  7. Looking at another Dobyns rod possibly. Maybe a powell. Or taking other suggestions as well. Spinning or Casting is fine.
  8. Def white crappie. They can get bigger then that but not sure about how big they get in VA.
  9. No 6lber, but had a good time fishing saturday and sunday. Hit up Clear Lake saturday, and caught 3 keepers, 2 only 12-13 inches and then one 3lb 1oz bass on a super fluke. It was 30 something degrees for the first hour of fishing and I was FREEZING. But had a great time fishing with mudcat, and he had a nice catfish on a jig as well. Then fished the Delta with a new pal Jason. Had a blast, and although he caught a few nice fish to my 10-15 dinks, it was still fun. He had a healthy 3 1/2-4lber and a few fish in the 2lb range. No pictures from the trip, but man do I love the Delta now. I'm hooked.
  10. Fish was under 7lbs for sure. But if I was to guess I'd say 5 - 5 1/2lbs First picture looks about 4 1/2 - 5lbs , and second picture looks about 3 1/2lbs. Fish below is 5 1/2 lbs and looks roughly about the same size.
  11. Yes, it does cast. ;D I don't have it, I use a Dobyns rod for shaky head and absolutely love it. Sensitive, light, and looks awesome. For quite a bit cheaper.
  12. there's one knock off sold on ***. They aren't as soft, causing them not to be so limp and life like while swimming. That's the main complaint I've heard. They're just not the same. Basstrix is in a league of their own.
  13. I NEVER keep bass, unless I was to gut hook and kill the fish, I will never keep one. If someone wants to take a 2lb bass home for dinner, fine, but people that take home 4lb+ bass home to eat, is when I draw the line.
  14. 6inch senko - Wacky Rigged Zoom Trick worm - Shaky head Zoom Super Fluke 1/2oz black/blue jig
  15. That thing is gorgeous!
  16. Good to see they worked. Congrats, and keep it up!
  17. Anyone used this stuff? I really want to start using braid more, but hate tying a leader and junk, but also hate not using one! It's a love hate relationship you could say. The new Spiderwire claims to be almost invisible, which might or might not be good enough for me. Has anyone used this stuff? Notice any difference? Fish like other Braids or what? sorry if there was a thread already up about this, I haven't seen one, and my search button is taking forever.
  18. Same here, except I don't have time to take a bath. I'm one stinky dude.
  19. I used a 7lb on my 12ft Zodiac, and it didn't do much of anything. With inflatables, I would say get 2 5 or 10lb anchors. Drop one off each side. Otherwise, if you only use one, the wind will just blow you in circles around the anchor.
  20. T-rig, pray for me to break th curse now! I'm fishing Clear Lake (Good lake in Cali) on saturday, and then hopefully the Delta on sunday! Two amazing fisheries, but lets hope I can follow in your foot steps and break the curse!
  21. If I was promised 4 fish that size, I would drive 5 hours right away. In fact, it's 10:30pm I'd leave right now and drive 5 hours for 4 fish like that!
  22. If I catch a fish on a treble bait, especially a blue gill or dinky bass, I dont' play. I lay the fish on the ground, and put my foot on it, not hard, just to keep it from flopping.
  23. Need info on the BCR803....the MBR843C and 844C have already been ordered. Jeezus christ dude, you really got bit hard by the loomis bug. what is this number 10 in the past week? and all GLXs. Why can't you be my dad!?!?
  24. MBR844C GLX - My favorite rod, and awesome for jigs! Can cast 3/8oz jigs with ease, up to 3/4oz with ease.
