Buying a boat on Ebay.
I've been looking at bass boats on ebay for a while now. I think it's pretty easy to see which seller and serious and honest. I'd look at only the boats with lots of pics and descriptions. I always like knowing why they are selling the boat too.

What is the best kind of knot?
I've got the trilene knot down pretty good so it doesn't any time at all. The palomer knot takes me forever for some reason. If I'm not too worried about strength I use the improved clinch knot to save a little time but in tournaments or whenever theres a chance for a big one I use the trilene. I go witht he Rapala knot when using cranks that tie directly onto the body.

Spit

Best Smallmouth fishin in the USA
I love the Missouri float streams. Get a jon boat and and some buzzbaits and hit the riffles early in the morning and you'll get into some good smallies. Gasgonade, Big Piney, Jack's Forks and many others.

Re: What have you caught on accident?
I've hooked many turtles and even a snake while fly fishing. Talk about a pain in the butt to unhook. The fly line wrapped around the snakes body 10 times.

Walmart vs. Dick's
In Olathe Kansas Dicks has a much better selection than any wal-mart I have seen. I don't make it to either one much because their's a Cabela's 15 min. away.

Spit

Spit
If you missed it, In the new Field and Stream issue, there's a tip that says spitting on your lure will cover up any bad scents and may actually be an attractant for bass. What's everyones thoughts on that?

Fishing on Small Rivers
I fished the Gasconade River in Central Missouri and was very successful on anything that imitated a crawdad. I think being on a small river, there's most likely alot of rocks which attract crawdads and in return are the main forage for the fish. I used crawdad colored spinnerbaits and would all the way across the river, then retrieve normally as the lure arc's a little bit from the current. Make sure to key on eddies and riffles, thats where most of the bass will hold.

Iaconelli's combo
I read an article in field and stream that started out talking about how good Iaconelli was at flippin n pitching. Anyone know what rod/reel he uses for that?

mutant catfish!
Not only fly fishing, but in a cave, with absolutly no light dodging stligmites hanging from the ceiling of the cave. I guess he actually saw a hatch occuring with his headlamp. So he tied on a dry fly and caught a whole bunch. You don't hear of too many catfish hitting dry flies!

Do you fish in a boat or on the bank?
I do it all. I Bank fish occationally but I really enjoy taking the family bass boat or or taking my kayak out. Taking a boat out just gives you so many more options and opens up alot of new places to fish.

Bass Pro Fishing Classic
I got an email for BPS today. I guess they are having their 2005 Spring Fishing classic at their Springfiled Mo store. I'm about a 2 or 3 hr drive from there and was curious is anyone has gone to it and if it was worth it to go. Any good deals and sales or anything?

mutant catfish!
I read a backpacking article where a team went caving in a very remote part of the world. After making their way in pretty far, they stopped at a opening inside the cave that had a pool of water. One guy came back a day later with a fly rod and caught catfish after catfish. The weird thing was, because there was no light at all inside the cave, the catfish had no eyes at all and relied on their other senses to eat.

What new technique are you going to try?
I need to get the Carolina rig down and add it to the arsenal.

What Do You Drive?
2004 Dagger Blackwater 11.5. You might be saying to yourself, "I've never heard of that brand of boat". Well that would be because it is a kayak, lol. Gets me to some pretty cool fishing places though. Portable fish finder, dry storage, anchor, Garmin GPS, it's a hooked up fishing kayak.

Catch'em and Eat'em
I live on 7 acre lake outside of Kansas City and we haven't taken any fish out to eat in many many years. Because of that the bass population is huge but there isn't too much in size. It's not uncommon to go out and catch 50 bass inan hour but your biggest might be 2 lbs. I think it would help out the lake if we did take some out but my family isn't the biggest fan of bass to eat so we release them all. Theres just something thats hard about keeping a bass :-/
