How long will you work it?
If its a bait I know will produce I'd guess maybe 45 min. with nothing until I would switch. If it's something I'm not sure about it can range from 5 min. to 30 min.

cold water advice
I'd stick with the slow, slow slow. And downsize your bait.

biggest bass
9 lb. about 3 years ago. I'm itching for that double digit.

so how many....
I don't even want to know how often I'm here. In the morning, after each class throughout the day, then for a good 2 hours after dinner. I'd guess I log on atleast 10 times a day.

Outerwear
Lol, sorry squid. I think I'm leaning towards goretex. Something like the cabela's guide series or or BPS stuff just like it. Something that has a little more insulation that frogg togg's. I'll have to check out the BPS sale. After looking through cabela's and BPS I'm so lost. They have like 500 items listed as Guide wear and they all look the same to me. I really should go to the store and check it out there, much easier than the internet. Although it seems like you can always find that stuff on sale on their website.

Outerwear
I saw that BPS has their own line of rainwear that about matches that of Cabela's guidewear but is priced a little better. Much difference between the two?

Squid, sounds like you're against them. I'm curious if the people who RECOMMEND Frogg Togg's have experienced anything undesirable in their time using the product and can relate at all the leaking some of you guys who are against it are saying.

bass clubs
All the clubs I have ever talked to were always happy to have a teenager. One guy told me they are always looking for younger kids so they have someone to keep the club going one day. Some might not take you seriously but if you go out there and bring in some good catches I'm sure you'll be accepted. Nothing wrong with lots of older people in the clubs either. They are usually the ones I learn the most from.

barometric pressure?
I've searched extensively for research that shows that fish are affected by barometric pressure and have yet to find it. The pressure underwater is generally always the same and only fluctuates slightly with the changing barometric pressure above water. When a strong high pressure comes through the average barometric pressure of 30.00 inches can go up to around 30.70 inches. In an extremely low pressure situation such as a hurricane it can dip to 28 inches. The difference between those two high and low barometric pressures is 2.70 inches which is equal to about .09 atmospheres (1 atmosphere being the weight of all overlaying air at sea level). A normal incoming storm will lower the barometric pressure at a rate of around .03 to .04 inches of pressure per hour. That slow of an increase/decrease in barometric pressure can hardly affect fishing. The barometric pressure plays a more important role in the weather process which in return affects the fishing. Researcher's can prove the link between pressure and weather, and between weather and fishing, but are still missing the proven link between pressure and fish.

To all of you guys who like Frogg Toggs...Have you ever noticed any leaking when sitting in wet seats or anything like that??

Outerwear
Anyone know when I could expect Cabela's to put their Guidewear on sale? I was searching the internet to see what the pro's wear and I came across a website that listed all the pro Bass anglers and then covered all of their equipment. About 90% of the guys listed Cabela's Guidewear as their rain gear so I'm guessing that stuff is pretty good.

Outerwear
Yes! I have learned my lesson with cheap outerwear also. I'm looking to finally spend a little money and get some quality stuff:)

Outerwear
What does everyone wear on those cold or wet days? I'm looking to pick up some good rain/coldwear, anyone have a favorite? I like the looks of the Cabela's Gore-Tex Guidewear but want to make sure I make a good decision for that amount of money.

Has this worked for you?
In Negotiations as well.

barometric pressure?
There is no evidence that proves barometric pressure affects fish. A falling pressure means a front is moving through, while a rising pressure means the front has passed and sunshine is on it's way. It is generally found that the fishing is much better before a front hits rather than after a front hits but if that has anything to do with the pressure, we don't know. I believe that the barometic pressure is a good indicator on fishing conditions but not simply because of the pressure but rather that it indicates good weather for fishing.

what states have bedded bass now
Nothing in Kansas yet. The nights are still dipping low into the 30's. Forecast has it warming up this next week or 2 with lows in the 50's so I think it will start by then.

No, I will not send you my stuff!
I've had good luck by doing 2 things: 1) Put the plastics you know will produce in your tackle box. My tackle box holds 6 plastic boxes. 2 of which are for plastics. 1 labeled "worms" that holds all plastics that are shaped long and narrow such as worms, slugos, senkos, and so on. 2nd on labeled "soft plastics" which holds creatures, tubes, and all the other stuff beween. 2) bring along a tackle binder that holds the plastics I might possibly use but somewhat doubtful. Very rarely have I ever had to break into the binder but just for reassurance it's always there and by puting those baits in the binder it has really organized my tackle box and made it much easier to locate the baits I need when the time calls for it.

kayaks
It's not too bad. I think its called the "fishin buddy". Itd be a good one for knowing the depth and finding dropoffs and all that but I have a feeling its not the best for locating the fish. It might be something that would work good for you. "fishin buddy" fish finders start at around $50 and go up from there. I think I got mine at Cabelas.

kayaks
I fish out of my kayak quite a bit. Right now I have a side mounted portable fishfinder that just runs on AA batteries. I've been looking into buying a nicer one that has the transducer mounting under the kayak with a suction cup and runs on a 12v battery. I love having a fish finder with the kayak because sitting so low to the water makes reading the water pretty tough sometimes.

eating?
If I had a walleye and a bass side by side and had to eat one of them my fillet knife would be headed straight to the walleye hands down. I've tried lots of different freshwater fish and they are all decent but walleye wins by a landslide.
