Went to The Palmetto Sportsman’s Classic today. Every year they have some good deals. I met Joel with Fin-X rods. I bought a casting and a spinning rod. Came home and put reels on them. They balance nicely. I can’t wait to get them to the water.

I do like my Benchmades. Excellent choice. That’s an awesome looking pocket knife.

This isn’t really tackle, but it came in the mail today. My latest fishing purchase. I’ve been wanting it for a while and Bass Pro put it on sale and then club members got even more off so I couldn’t stand it. That Ol bait monkey got me again…

Went and checked them out today… Weather was good. Had a fun time.

Makes me want to go buy a red crank bait.

New Rod & Reel… Bought a Lews Custom reel last week on clearance. Bought a FishStyx 7ft Med/Heavy Fast rod today and paired them up. I’m excited to get to the water with it.

A little time on the lake yesterday… caught a few.

Back at it this morning with The Mrs.

Another evening catching some small ones. But it was fun… I caught about 8, all about this size. Nice evening on the lake.

I have a boat and friends with boats, so most of my fishing is from boats. But I do some bank fishing around ponds too. I like it all. I echo what someone said about fishing parallel to the bank. I like to throw down the bank before I walk down the bank. Then it’s a lot of sight fishing and around structure.

Weekend haul. Lews Custom Speed Stick Lite, Lews Speed Spin Reel, and a few other things I picked up.

I was at a fishing show over the weekend and the boat prices did seem to be slightly down. I hope it’s a trend because I want a new boat in the next year or so.

I tried it Saturday and took it off Sunday. I have been using P-Line and it has been good. I was trying to save a little money and gave Basix a try. To me, it's wiry. Lot's of stiffness and memory. At least in the 15 lb. spool that I got. I don't like it at all. I'll stick with my P-Line.

I must be the only one that hates it. I bought a spool of 15 lb. over the weekend. I find it to be real stiff and definitely has memory. I use P-line 12 lb. and love it. It is way more castable. I wanted something a little stronger. I fished Basix Saturday and took it off Sunday. It's a no from me.
