I have been using this line since the beginning of the year on my main Texas rig set up and I say it's pretty close to Tatsu. Great line.

I have listened and obeyed the Tackle Monkey, Freams 3000CHX and two 20lb 400 M. spools (not for the spinning reel) of Monster Brave Z fluorocarbon have appeased the Tackle Monkey for now.

Is this better than tatsu? As of right now, all I use is tatsu. Any reason to try this?

R18 is similar to Tatsu in that both products are Double Structure Fluorocarbon and both are built for use as a mainline.

 

So they share properties with all Seaguar's DSF items which is that they are soft and very manageable on reels yet provide excellent strength and abrasion resistance.

 

R18 is a JDM item and was made for Japanese anglers who are fishing very pressured waters and are looking for any edge to help them catch more fish.  R18 comes in a much more fine-tuned size range from 4-20 lbs and includes some unique, nontraditional sizes: 5, 7, and 14 lb. Test.  This allows anglers to really dial in the depths at which baits run - so presentations can be tailored to have baits run higher or lower in the water column. Also R18 is on a 100 meter (109 yard) spool.
