  1. No, but had a heavy concrete deer stolen from my front yard. Hope they had a hernia lifting it.
  2. Amen. We veterans were blessed to serve this great country.
  3. Some of the ponds I fish are overpopulated with small bass. I do cull and eat those fish. taste good to me and often helps improve fishing for larger fish, A pond has limits on how many pounds of fish it can adequately support
  4. Naked prey . Amazing african photography. Lots of action, but little dialog. Think of mountain man Jim Bridgers escape except happens in Africa.
  5. Fishing for over 60 years and wish I had grown up in Texas instead of California. Been here since 1969. Fishing so much better than Silicon Vally area. Love the people and culture
  6. Keep it simple with lures I have confidence in. Plastics, jigs, spinner baits , occasional top water and chatterbait.
  7. Thanks A-Jay.
  8. Injured my right bicep lifting weights yesterday. doing standing military presses. Big knot today and bruising. iced it down and its not hurting at rest, but when flexing it s a killer pain. Have done this 100's of repetitions. Will lay off upper body work for awhile. Concentrate on lower body and abs. Work out at least five times per week so will miss it. My 75 yoa body s catching up with me.
  9. In the 80's and need that heavy rod because I was fishing in a forest
  10. Lake Ray Roberts in Texas with a black and blue jig and the old fenwick telescoping flipping rod. Still have that rod
  11. Used to fish hellgrammites on the Lampassas River in Central TX and caught bass and channel catfish using them on a fly rod. Would find them under rocks. The hellgrammite's will bite.
  12. No snaps and retie and sharpen hooks often
  13. It is not like they show in the brochures
  14. When you turn 65 your immune system becomes weaker. I agree its not for wimps. I am 75 and have had two major surgeries in the last three years. I make myself walk and lift weights and keep my mind active. Has helped me to continue fishing and other physical activities. You just keeping trying and do your best. Don't get down because of a bad day or two.
  15. Not much afraid of most things, but clowns and dolls feel creepy to me.
  16. Great post. I commend you for your persistence.
  17. Retired at age 66at the end of 2013. Have a travel trailer and boat and have enjoyed much of the time since. A couple of surgeries and wife heart attack slowed things down. I'm convinced that being in shape and working out helped me recover. There are no guarantees so take care of yourself and enjoy whatever time you have.
  18. Im 75yoa and fish mainly ponds now which most have no ramps. Boat is a 14 foot fiberglass jon boat. I have a tilt trailer with electric remote controls and rollers instead of bunks. Back the trailer wheels to the edge of the water, the trailer tilts and I slide it into the water. Use the winch to reload it. Helps to have 4 wheel drive also. Only when it is extremely muddy have I had a problem.
  19. Have not used pork much for years, but did catch my PB in 1980 on jig and pork on Ray Roberts. Plastic is effective and easier to maintain
  20. Plastic lizard usually black rigged different ways
  21. Welcome and enjoy the knowledge on this forum.
  22. Very sorry to hear about your loss.
  23. I fish ponds up to 100 acres most often. Have found I seem to catch more fish when I anchor in what I think are productive areas. I try to minimize use of the trolling motor and often drift with the wind or use a kayak paddle to move along weed edges or drop offs. Fish out of a 14 foot fiberglass boat
  24. Thank yall. Great site and people
