Diving in to cool off.
Too many snakes. Do use a snap towel. Just dip in the water, wring out, snap and place on neck or face. Really cools you down.

What’s a “good” day in your books?
Good day is 6 lbs plus. I would rather catch one larger fish than many smaller ones

Most Unusual Animal You've Encountered While Fishing.....??
The deer population has exploded here and the cats, like bass follow the food. I fish many lakes and ponds on private property and share the water with a lot of wildlife

Fitness anyone?
Not in your situation. Retired and 76yoa. Work out 4 0r 5 times a week. Always have been active. It is a lifestyle decision. I believe it has led to a better quality of life in all respects. Has helped avoid injuries and helped me recover from surgeries I had to have. Also helps in edurance while fishing. Good for you. Best wishes

Bass fishing is getting harder?
Stillhouse Hollow has lots of nice fish. 3 hour tournament every Wednesday. 3 biggest fish. Take close to or over 20 lbs to win. Key is fishing the hydrilla. Also nice fish up the Lampassas river flipping downed trees and stumps. Used to fish it often.

Working to Stay Lean ~
Have had major surgeries over the last 4 years. 76 YOA now and have found it takes about a month to get my strength back. I work out about 5 times per week and know there is muscle memory that helps recovery if you stay in shape. Look forward to your posts. Decided 10 years ago to stay in shape so I could continue the activities I enjoy Was out 6 to 8 weeks three times

Submerged Trees
Also agree with Catt. Would try a jig and pork pitched or flipped close to the tree. Stout rod and line

The one second-moment you'd wish you could have captured on film.
Trout fishing with my Dad in the sierra Navada mountains. He was atop a beaver dam with water in front and behind him. Dad hardly ever caught a fish , but this time the fly hit the water and he caught a nice trout. Kidded him for years

are you retired? do you fish ALL the time?
Worked a high pressure job and retired end of 2013. Now 75 yoa. First 6 months I was lost. Then became involved in my community, travel trailer and fishing. Health issues with mn wife and myself slowed that way down, Try to develop a plan for the extra time you will have. Working out helped give me the strength do the things I desire. Think you always need to find ways to stimulate and grow or you will go backwards. Aging is not for the weak. So be strong

Pay lakes for bass
Fishing Private Lakes Texas has about 90 lakes scattered throughout the state Pay an annual membership fee and pay varying amounts depending on the lake. When you reserve you have exclusive access to the water on that day. All are on private property. There are many large bass caught . You can look it up online. I have been a member for several years. I am also 75 yoa and donot fish turnaments anymore. Strictly recreational now.
