I can respect all of that. I have no patience in ice fishing if they aren’t biting. I am constantly on the move until that flasher lights up like a christmas tree.

That’s true my friend. We never drink when ice fishing really. Just one of those things we never did but there was plenty to be had back at the house.

We use flashers and live scope all time during ice fishing. I would consider you a psycho if you chose not to use one.

Yes but that’s because we knew there was a big drop off. If it was an area we didn’t know well, I probably would’ve given up on that spot well before. I completely understand if people feel like it cheapen the spots. For me though, I just wanna have fun catching fish and will use electronics that helps me do that. People might not agree with that, but fishing means something different to everyone.

I can confirm as well as others on here that it is not hogwash. There has been plenty of times I have thrown everything but the kitchen sink and the bass will chase the bait and then swim away.

I had a caiman growing up. When she got over 3 feet long, we gave her to my high school science class(they used to have a gator when my mom was in HS). My parents had all types of animals when I was a kid. It was pretty cool.

That’s what I love about ffs. I use to suck at using a jerkbait but after seeing in real time what retrieves work, my confidence is now sky high when I fish from the back of the boat. Catching fish like that is so much fun. I don’t know if I’d ever think to throw a jerk before we got ffs, but now it’s my go to when fishing offshore.

I couldn’t agree with you more. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve come up to a spot that is holding a good amount of bass just to not get a single bite cast after cast. Location is key but timing is everything

I can’t help but think @Zcoker had something to do with this.

It's still hard for me to see how non FFS gear is at a decline. The majority people who fish probably dont have a boat and those with one, also probably dont have FFS. Now if more people get a boat or kayak with FFS and only fish that style, then I can see that. Not saying I disagree with @AlabamaSpothunter and @gimruis whatsoever, its just hard to grasp that happening already.
