  1. Honestly, if it was someplace like Wal-Mart or Dick's, I would probably do the same thing that you did. If it was a small, locally owned sporting goods store, struggling to make a profit, I'd point out the mistake and pay full price.
  2. I really wish you had room for three!
  3. If all else fails, send your inquiry to B.A.S.S., What's It Worth? They should be able to identify the lure and give you its estimated value.
  4. Kinda like this guy?
  5. Here are a few pics I took in the yard this afternoon. I still have a few available if anyone is interested. They should be ready to go in about three weeks.
  6. You're correct. Boise didn't play Idaho this season, so the rule wasn't in effect yet. Even if it had happened this year, it was clearly after the play, and it looks as if he's pointing to the fans, not taunting the other team. Excessive celebration, yes, but as a dead ball foul, it wouldn't erase a touchdown.
  7. Looks like you had a great hunt. Mule deer have always been my favorite big game animal.
  8. I have two micro guide rods, one Kistler and one custom, and I really like both of them. I can see how they might cause problems if you use leaders.
  9. I didn't expect OU to hang half a hundred on them like that. OU needs to work on their running game and, as usual, their special teams. Texas needs to work on everything. I loved that OU's defense scored more points than Texas's offense.
  10. He will need a 3.0 GPA to qualify for an ROTC scholarship, and they are becoming fewer and much harder to get. BLUF the war in Iraq is winding down, and the Army is downsizing. In FY 2011, ROTC overproduced by roughly 600 new Lieutenants nationwide. He could enlist in the Guard or Reserves and let them pay for his school, but until he raises his GPA, the most he'll get out of ROTC is a small monthly stipend. Lynyrdsky1, if you're interested in going this route, PM me. I'm currently working as an ROTC instructor at WVSU, and I will help you out however I can.
  11. Yes. PM me your email address, and I'll send you some pics.
  12. Ya'll know who I'm picking. Boomer Sooner! But I do think that Texas is in much better shape than they were a year ago, and it is a rivalry game, so it could really go either way.
  13. Here's another good one.
  14. I don't know about the police, but there are definately height, weight, and body fat standards in the military. Unfortunately, the Army was extremely undermanned just a couple of years ago, and it was nearly impossible to boot anyone out. In 2005, my unit deployed at roughly 110% strength. In 2008, we deployed at less than 80% strength. I didn't have any Soldiers with weight problems, but I had a few with other issues who certainly shouldn't have been there. Now that the war in Iraq is winding down, the Army is downsizing, and I expect many of them will be sent packing.
  15. I have to pick my Sooners, but I really think it could go either way. OU hasn't performed well on road games for the past few years, and Lee Corso picked OU, so we're probably jinxed.
  16. Yuck! I hate the veggie burger, but it's definately better than those yellow brownie-looking scrambled eggs! You're right about the quality of the food being dependant upon your location. In Iraq, I had the pleasure of spending some time on a huge FOB with an awesome chow hall, but I also spent time on tiny outposts eating nothing but T-rats and MREs. If your tour is anything like mine have been, you'll move around some and get to experience both extremes.
  17. Wait until you get to Afganistan. It may take you a few weeks to get used to eating the foil-packed, dehydrated, condensed, evaporated, canned, compressed, pressurized collection of raw materials for a turd-making machine that the U.S. Army labels as food.
  18. Go ahead! I'm not afraid to admit that my team typically starts it's season by beating up on a powderpuff, but by so proudly posting a list that contains Sun Belt Conference and FCS teams, you have clearly demonstrated that you are. I'm just saying that you shouldn't be so quick to call other teams afraid for not scheduling a marquee opponent to start their seasons when LSU has done it exactly one time in recent memory.
  19. LSU opens against North Texas next year. Just saying.
  20. You are correct. I hadn't thought of that.
  21. The .410 may be an adequate round in experienced hands, but I wouldn't recommend it for a child's first deer hunt. If he goes out and wounds his first deer, he may never want to go again. Why is he wanting to use the .410? Is it just because it's his only gun? I bet if you presented him with a new .243 Win (or something similar), he'd suddenly want to use that.
  22. Did anybody watch the Maryland vs Miami game? Were those not the ugliest uniforms you've ever seen?
  23. Catt, I live in WV, but I am a transplanted Sooner. I couldn't care less who wins that game. But I stand by my statement that LSU's offense is questionable. Their defense and special teams won that game by forcing turnovers and providing the offense with short field situations.
