  1. I do the same thing.
  2. Thanks for the ideas! I'll pass them along to my dad.
  3. It's hard to narrow it down to three baits, because I have confidence in many different baits. My absolute favorite technique is deep cranking, but it's not always effective, so I can't say that I have the most confidence in deep crankbaits. Looking at your question as if I had to pick only three baits to use with no knowledge of the body of water, I would pick: 1. Texas Rigged Gene Larew Salt Craw 2. Strike King Red Eye Shad 3. 1/8 oz Shaky Head with a Zoom Finesse Worm I feel like I can catch fish on one of those three baits, under a variety of conditions, on just about any given day.
  4. Too funny!
  5. Both! With all the things you listed in consideration, where would you want to live?
  6. I never bought one mainly because they're as ugly as sin. I have a buddy who swears by them, though.
  7. That doesn't count. The question is where would you want to live (full time)?
  8. My father is retiring and moving to his wife's hometown of Olathe, KS. He asked me if I knew anything about the fshing in the area, and since I really don't, I thought I'd ask around for him. He mainly likes to fish for crappie, but I think he's happy catching just about anything. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
  9. Either I'm missing something, or you had a couple of typos.
  10. Y'all might get him back if Holgerson doesn't straighten his act up. http://www.herald-dispatch.com/sports/x1656189147/Chuck-Landon-Holgersen-gambling-on-future-at-WVU
  11. You're right. This won't hurt the Ohio program at all. It might have some impact on the Ohio State program though! Bobby Petrino is always looking for a job too!
  12. I once had a rod shipped in cardboard, and the tube got crushed. Thankfully, there was no damage to the rod, but after that I won't ever use cardboard. I've ordered and shipped several rods in PVC without incident.
  13. #7 and #8 both have two correct answers. #7 Q. Finish this "this is my Rifle......" A."this is my gun, this is for fighting, this is for fun.", and A."There are many like it, but this one is mine..." #8 Q. Who does R. Lee Ermey reference when he is talking about great Marine snipers? A. Lee Harvey Oswald, and A. Charles Whitman

  15. Really? I think that would be a nice vacation, but I wouldn't want to live there.
  16. If you could own a lake/river front home complete with your own private boat ramp on any body of water in the world, where would you live?
  17. I spent my first year of college in Colorado. Big mistake! There were just too many finned distractions.
  18. Taco Supreme
  19. GBlanks will make you a real nice rod for that price.
  20. My dad was a crappie fisherman. He would take me out to drown minnows anytime, but he had no interest in bass fishing. Jimmy Houston, Bill Dance, and Hank Parker were my heros growing up. When I was old enough to start fishing alone (about 8 years old), I always targeted bass. I'd like to say that I taught myself, but I learned an awful lot from draw partners when I was fishing tournaments as a non-boater.
  21. They may not get torn up as quickly as traditional soft plastics, but they can still get sucked off the hook. Maybe with a drop of super glue?
  22. You're going to love Afghanistan.
  23. There was a jig yesterday, but I don't see it anymore.
