  1. I think a fly fishing forum would be a nice addition to BR.
  2. I agree. Over the years, I've found everything from dead baitfish to soft plastics in my livewell. I've always assumed that they were fish barf.
  3. You're probably right, Gary. When I went back, I noticed that they also have several spools of Stren Magnaflex on clearance. Magnaflex used to be my favorite mono, but I haven't seen it anywhere for at least four or five years. It makes me wonder how old the other stuff is. Anyway, I bought one spool of the Yo Zuri and one of the P-Line. If it works out, great. If not, I'm only out $9 for both spools.
  4. I agree. A beetle spin or something similar is great for young kids because they will get a lot of bites, and they are less prone to hang ups than a treble hook lure.
  5. Thanks for your input, everyone. I guess I'm going to stock up.
  6. I found a sporting goods store that has Yo Zuri Hybrid and P-Line CXX on clearance for 50% off. All that's left is Camo Green (Yo Zuri) and Moss Green (P-Line). I'd like to buy a bunch of it for that price, but I don't know about the green line. If I was back in Oklahoma, I wouldn't hesitate, but most of the water I fish out here is pretty clear. What do you think? Would colored line be a problem in clear water?
  7. I've heard of people melting vaseline and adding scents to it, but I'm not sure how well it would work.
  8. Well, thanks for the ideas, but it looks like they won't be making the move after all. They had some kind of problem with the house they were buying, and they decided to stay in Colorado. Oh well. Thanks again.
  9. You beat me to it!
  10. What are your thoughts on this? Coach Stoops has said that Oklahoma doesn't want it. As a Sooners fan, I have to agree. USC beat the crap out of OU, and it would ridiculous for OU to claim the title. I really can't see Auburn or Utah accepting a trophy for a game they didn't play in. They both went undefeated in 2004, but were left out of the BCS championship game mainly due to weak strengths of schedule.
  11. I've had good results with the full-sized Brush Hog. I like to fish it both Texas rigged and Carolina rigged. It's not something that I'd recommend for numbers, but it's one of my go to baits when I'm looking for a kicker fish.
  12. I may be off base here, but I would imagine that whoever is saying not to use 65# line on a rod recommended for 12# is talking about monofilament. It would be next to impossible to cast 65# mono on a standard bass fishing rod and reel. Braid has a much smaller diameter than mono, so it's not an issue. I've used both 50# and 65# braid with no problems.
  13. Thanks for the ideas! johnD, have you used the Tidemaster TIC76MHF3 or TIC76HF3?
  14. A yurt or a tiny house?
  15. Cam Newton knew it was wrong. Jim Tressel tried to cover it up. USC got what they deserved. WVU is turning into a soap opera. I'm just glad that there has never been any controversy surrounding my beloved Sooners!
  16. My brother designs and builds tiny houses. He is drawing some plans up for me. I just posted that link because it's a good website, and I wasn't sure how many people had heard of tiny houses. I'm thinking about building a plane jane model to use as a fishing cabin.
  17. I was just looking at those last night! I don't think I'll get one though. I'm considering building one of theses: http://www.tumbleweedhouses.com/
  18. This is what the BASS Times said about it: "Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Open pro Dave Mansue likes to pop the perch off deep ledges, staying in contact with the lure by keeping a semi-slack line. The perch catches water and spirals down like a tube. Around deep cover, Mansue swims the bait toward the cover, then lets it spiral downward. Other times, he just slowly swims the perch along the edges of points, ledges and hydrilla lines, twitching it like a soft jerkbait."
  19. Does anyone know where I can find a travel rod that is over 7' long? I'm looking for a 7'6" (give or take a couple of inches) Heavy/Fast flippin' stick style rod that can be broken down into three or four pieces.
  20. Once again.
  21. You may be right about Landon. http://www.dailymail.com/Sports/201106011015
  22. I'm not there. I had a death in the family and had to go on emergency leave. I'm pretty bummed, especially since there's no refund for the entry fee.
  23. My comments had nothing to do with bragging. I am offended when someone complains incessantly about a couple of weeks of training and then has the nerve to comment about other MOS's as if we are lesser Soldiers.
  24. First, welcome to the Army. Get used to days like that because they happen all the time. Second, I don't appreciate your use of the word "POG." I am not an Infantryman. I am a Cavalry Scout (19D) with nearly a thousand combat patrols under my belt. Let me know when you catch up, FNG.
