Going Over The Rod Rating....
I've only broken one rod in all my years of fishing, but it was a flippin' stick, and I broke it throwing a swimbait. I don't remember the rod rating or the weight of the swimbait, but it was something similar to what you're talking about.

Moving
Clayton, have you considered looking for an AGR position somewhere?

Perfect Timing!
I have a NIB 2009 Revo Premier that I bought on clearance and never used. I think it's going to find a home on my new rod.

Best Lures For Boils?
X2 I've had good luck doing the same thing with a 4.5" Mattshad. I like to cast beyond the school, let the bait sink, and then slowly drag it along the bottom beneath the boils. Be sure to remove the treble hook from the belly to avoid hang ups. It's hard to ignore all the surface action, but it's worth it when you start catching the big girls below.

Perfect Timing!
I've been planning to get a new jig rod before next spring, but I'm hesitant about spending money on myself this close to Christmas. A couple of nights ago, I checked my email. The first email was from my mother. She wanted to know what she should get me for my birthday, and she asked me to keep it under $100. The very next email I opened was from Kistler rods announcing that select Magnesium TS rods were on sale for 50% off. Perfect timing! Here's my new rod: http://www.kistlerrods.com/p/fishing-rod/c-magnesium-ts-fishing-rods/MgJTCR70.html

Favorite Lures For Winter Bass Fishing
I chose crankbaits because they are my favorite thing to throw all year round. They're not always my most productive baits, but they are what I enjoy using the most. Deep cranks, shallow cranks, lipless cranks... I love then all!

Using Swivels
I never use a snap. Some people swear by them, but I prefer to tie directly to most lures. I do use the Rapala knot occasionally, but only on a plug type lure (crankbait, jerkbait, etc.), and only if there is no split ring. I don't see any benefit of using a Rapala knot in conjuction with a snap swivel. Try a Palomar knot.

Hey Guys, Check This Music Video Out....
Lund, I couldn't agree with you more. Thank you for posting the old version. Hopefully that will keep me from having nightmares.

Speaking Of Semi Auto Shotguns
Yes. I have the waterfowl version, and it's one of the best guns I've ever handled.

Speaking Of Semi Auto Shotguns
Oh! I thought maybe they had been discontinued or something, and the website wasn't updated.

Monster Buck!
Here are a couple of pics of the little meat buck I killed this morning. I've been seeing a lot of deer while duck hunting, so I decided to go try my luck deer hunting in the same area. I'm not really an avid deer hunter, preferring to pursue feathered game, but I do like to eat venison. It was pouring rain when I woke up, and I almost went back to bed, but I'm glad I didn't.

I Quit!
I smoked and dipped for almost 20 years, but I quit for good in March of 2009. I used the nicotine gum. It's not the tastiest gum in the world, but it really worked for me. Good luck!

Nice Upset
I love college football! Now that BSU and Stanford are no longer unbeaten, there are going to be a whole lot of one loss teams hoping for LSU or OSU to slip up. I'm curious to see the BCS rankings this week. Here are my top five: 1.LSU 2.OSU 3.Oregon 4.Bama 5.Oklahoma Here is my fearless prediction: LSU, Oregon, and Bama win out. OU defeats OSU on 3 Dec, and in doing so, they jump Oregon and Bama in the BCS to set up a rematch of the 2003 Sugar Bowl. The results will be strikingly similar. OU's defense will come to play, but the loss of their leading rusher and their NCAA record holding receiver will slow their relentless offensive attack. Final score: LSU 21 - OU 14.

2013 Bassmaster Classic
That was my first thought too. It will be tough fishing, but it's the Bassmaster Classic, not a club tournament. These guys are elite professionals. If anyone can find and catch fish in those conditions, they can.

Bites To Catches - What Is Good Number?
The reason I ask is because on page 14 of the October 2011 B.A.S.S. Times, he tells a different story.

Bites To Catches - What Is Good Number?
I understand the idea behind eliminating water, but much of that can be done without ever wetting a line. I would not waste my time casting to an area if I didn't feel like there was a reasonable chance of getting bit. Do you have a source for that Rick Clunn quote?

Bites To Catches - What Is Good Number?
I don't know about everyone else, but I try for a bite on every cast. Unless you're only making 12 casts per day, you're setting your goals a little low.

Small Caliber Recommendations
http://www.marlinfirearms.com/Firearms/SelfLoading/60.asp This is one of the most popular .22 caliber rifles there is. You can pick one up at Wal Mart for under $200. You can probably find a used one for half that.
