Kistler Mag Ts Casting Rod
I just got a coupon code for $50 off Mag rods, and it reminded me of this thread. It expires tomorrow, but it's good for MgBSXH70, MgFS69S, and MgADPT78T rods. Let me know if you're still interested, and I'll PM you the code.

You're correct, but Stratos is calling it the Stratos Champion Elite.

You must not remember the 2010 NFL draft! Here's a bit of trivia for you: In which conference did the 2010 offensive and defensive rookies of the year play college football? (Hint: It's not the SEC) http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=6091663 http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=6091681

One Lure Tournaments
A few fish might be all it takes if the fish want a Senko and everyone else is using spinnerbaits and jigs.

I have no experience with Powell rods, but I've had a quite a few Kistlers including a couple of Helium LTAs. If you can pick up an LTA for $150, I'd go for it. Don't forget to check out the monthly specials on Kistler's website. That's how I got my Carbon Steel Microguide rod for $79.

advice on new boat..
I agree. I love my little 2008 Z-6. It's a very stable, smooth riding boat for it's size. I'm planning to buy a bigger boat this winter, and while I'm leaning towards the Champion Elite series, I haven't ruled out a Z-8 or Z-9.

Carolina Rig/dropshot With A Leader?
I wouldn't call it a Carolina rig or a drop shot, but it looks like it works. That weirdo in the background stole the show in the video.

How do you know that they're the same fish?

Skeet Reese Package
The website doesn't mention it anywhere else either. If I don't get an email back from the dealer in a few days, I'll call. I don't want to bug them too much though because I really don't plan on buying a new boat until winter.

I have one paired with a Chronarch 100BPV, and I love it. I'm constantly buying, selling, and trading gear, but this is one setup that I plan to keep.

One Lure Tournaments
A friend of mine is an avid fly fisherman, and he was telling me about one-fly trout tournaments. In these tournaments, you are only allowed one fly. I don't mean one type of fly, I mean one fly. If you break it off, you're done for the day. If it falls apart, you're done for the day. You can retie as many times as you want, but you must use the same lure all day. This seems like an interesting contest to me. I wonder how many bass fishermen would participate if they were only allowed one lure. It would be interesting to see what baits would be used. Soft plastics would be out for obvious reasons. I'd be too paranoid to bounce a crankbait off wood. On one hand, I'd want to stay away from light line techniques because, well, light line breaks easier. On the other hand, heavy line is often associated with techniques that involve heavy cover. Then again, some guy might win with a limit of dinks he caught before one of them stole his Senko while the rest of the field was fishing safer lures.

They're freakin' sweet, bro! Kistlers don't get as much love on this site as some other rods mainly because a lot of people have issues with their warranty, but they're great rods.

That's what I was saying in my original post. I sent an email to the dealer asking what the Skeet Reese package is, but I haven't heard back yet.

Skeet Reese Package
I'm planning to trade in the little Nitro on a new boat after this season, and I've started researching boats online. On the Stratos boats website, there are several videos of Skeet Reese talking about the Champion Elite series boats. In one of the videos, he mentions the Skeet Reese Package, but he doesn't explain what it is. I'm sure it's just some upgrades to the regular package, but I can't find anything else about it. Does anyone know what he's talking about? I hope it doesn't mean the made everything yellow!
