  1. Can somebody lay out a timeline of the Zillion in clear and concise terms for me please? Year/ commonly called "___"/ features/ fair market price today if its a year and model worth getting or looking for/etc kind of bullet points would be very helpful I see all kinds of numbers and years and acronyms thrown around, but how do I know if I'm looking at an 2011 zillion HLC or a 1016 zillion and what does all that even mean? Are some models/years junk like a 2007 Toyota Camry? Are some years gold like 80s music? Are any of them "gotta have it's? Do any previous iterations compare to the current 21 Zillion SV TW? Do ALL of them have swappable 34 mm spool? What about these pics - which are they and what are they worth? Tia
  2. https://a.co/d/3cM1rKO Free returns Stuff it full of something so it doesn't go on all the way and see it it feels, then you'll know if you want the permanent fix or not
  3. I doubt I'll renew, hasn't been a good sale in a while now. I used to buy from then almost exclusively, but all good things must come to an end. I'll be taking my nap data and moving on
  4. Is this an advertisement? I funks with Sheltons now, killer deals and if you follow on Facebook you'll see they're legit. My guess is they purchase super close out items when small retailers go out of business or come up on some crazy overstock from warehouses. Look at their Strike King Rage swimmers or Thunder Crickets... or their Jackhammers. Killer deals
  5. Comparing crankbaits be like: Spot the difference
  6. Mighta caught that last one haha, I can see a couple rough years killing off the bass there. I thought it was just runoff pooling but I had to check, just in case
  7. The 80 should hold about 50 yards of 50#, not sure if your planning to cast half a football field but if nothing that just means less wasted line when we put 80 yards on, fish about 40 of it and then replace it because its too low... Maybe I should get another 80... But let me know how you feel about that 70 too
  8. If you have a naked rod dress it up with this if you dont already have a reel in mind. I grabbed an 80 from Sheltons a couple months ago, been hard not just grabbing another just because. But I really dont need another reel, just got a DMK Purelure Cheetah Air. 0 need for another reel
  9. Is there actually fish in there? I tried once mad long ago but I have actually fished in puddles before so I thought I was giving into my baser instincts
  10. Idk if the gift card is digital, don't remember if it had to be physical. The rod will take 3-6 months. They do make incredible blanks, a lot of their rods come with titanium guides, many admit they're worth waiting for... but some people just can't wait, especially if its closer to that later end of the spectrum. Just wanted you to be fully aware to not go into this expecting too fish a new rod for the pre-spawn and potentially miss the spawn too, depending on where you are. But if you have no rush, the only complaint you'll find is the wait
  11. They also have a 30% off gift cards right now Be prepared to wait 3-6 months
  12. Honestly bro, you said you'll only use it about 6-10 times a year, so how do you see yourself fishing more frequently- that lower end at 8g or higher end at 42g? The Mag Z will absolutely launch heavy baits and control it well while letting it soar. The sv will let you have a greater range of weights, but your max distance will suffer some. Concerned about availability of parts? Go shimano Concerned about comfort and control in many different conditions? Go Diawa Only using it so few times a year maybe just pick whichever one is the best price and you'll be happy
  13. Of course, like with anything, lure and line and rod are all important factors that will impact a casts distance and accuracy. Salamandura spool will throw 16g very well. But it's best feature is how smooth and controlled the cast is. Centrifugal brakes, like on Shimano, will require more of your thumb and will be less forgiving when the wind shifts. Sv spools tame the line way better, and can handle that range of weights you'll be casting much better as well. If you're already used to Centrifugal brakes the magnetic brakes in the Daiwa may feel strange, and the same is true if you're used to magnetic brakes and switch to Centrifugal. Except switching to Centrifugal will really force you to become ore comfortable and skilled with your thumb during the cast. What braking system do you use now and why do you want a reel with SV?
  14. I have the Salamandura sv150 spool in my Tatula CT, one of my favorite reels now. @Micro Module Police is right about the new tat100 feeling absolutely incredible, especially if you can find a deal on it. I have a zillion from when they were under $200, and it gets equal or less attention than the other 2 reels I just mentioned. I'm not familiar with that river, but if you're throwing in tight quarters with short quick casts the SV spools can't be beat in terms of control with just about any weight.
  15. Uh oh Katie, someone's gunnin for your spot https://www.reddit.com/r/justgalsbeingchicks/s/GBuPaz06Bm
  16. @bishoptf you apparently like the Curado MGL, I've been tempted, but I have a 2019 SLX MGL and I can't see how much of a difference the Curado would make. Maybe a smoother retrieve or whatever, but for the price it casts just like I need to to. Its a bit touchier than any of my Diawas, but when the conditions are relatively calm it sends like it's a letter to Santa But at the right price I'd adopt another. I've been keeping an eye of FB market (for reel deals in general), but dudes want just under MSRP for a reel that has clearly been put through the ringer. Post a reel "LIKE NEW" click for pics and its like
  17. Drats, was hoping they were a little behind haha I've been curious about the scorpions, but until things settle and theses horror stories of surprise $100 delivery fees die down I'm gonna have to just stick with what I got
  18. How'd this turn out? This still priced well or did the Tariffs wreck this too?
  19. Like if it was esophagitis? I've worked on the medical world in multiple settings, I've seen the guts, much of a patient's well being is in their own hands, your story is one prime example. I saw doctors push for a discharge of a little kid once and they offhandedly mentioned "one last test they could do but that it probably wasn't necessary and they didnt want to put the kid through it." Well the parents told the story of how their kid had already gone to the hospital the day before, different hospital, who discharged them. They had to go back to that hospital the next day, who sent them to this hospital. The parents said that one more test was worth it just to know for certain. Well after the results came back the doctor's demeanor changed entirely, ish got real serious real quick and they said they were transferring the kid to a bigger hospital in the city immediately. Went from ready to discharge to needing a better equipped hospital, all because the parents pushed for it. Not the only story I've seen like that, and dont even get me started about billing and insurance. Anway, I'm just trying to say good for you for advocating for yourself, many people don't know how to do that. Stay up my man, praying for peace and strength
  20. You got it my man I've come to have almost zero faith in the American medical system.
  21. I don't mean Seaguar is going out of business, I mean the Amazon store called Rockstar Products LLC or SUPER DEALS!. The store goes out of business and Amazon sells the product at liquidating prices
  22. I'm thinking its all the independent Amazon sellers that go out of business and they still have stock in the warehouse. Amazon just liquidates it, I saw a few things became unavailable while I was lookin or after I bought it.
  23. As uncultured as I am I double checked, just in case he was referring to an artist named Will Ross, and when I found this (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Charles_Ross) I thought "wow there really is a will Ross" and then thought I would make a joke about Bob... guess we're all a bunch of uncultured fishermen and my joke was accidentallyserious haha... unless he did mean actual Will Ross in which case dang bro, impressive art history knowledge
  24. I'm happy to make you a custom spinning rod with a casting rod backbone and whatever taper you prefer for just the cost of materials. If you're losing fish when they bolt and you're compensating for tight drag by moving your arms/rod it seems you've identified the issue. You're drag is too tight for too long. I fish similarly weedy waters, always weary a dive could bring up 8# of weeds as a hat for a 2# bass. I've come to prefer a tight drag for the hook set, the beginning of the fight, and if they feel big I'll loosen the drag a touch to let the hook/ line move with them instead of yanking it out. Drag adjustment is a bit easier on baitcaster, but I have no doubt you could find a good rhythm and become very comfortable doing that on your spinning set up. I've even started adding drag clickers to my baitcasters so I can have a better sense of what my drag/ the fish is doing. PM me if you want to talk about a spinning rod to get a custom designed tool for you specifically
  25. Poor choice of words...was trying to convey backbone...sorry man The rest of us know what you meant bro, no need to apologize, you good
