had a good outing this morning, no pics, sorry. i caught four keepers biggest being around 3lbs or so. all on my new eakins football jigs, black/blue with netbait paca *****. one other fish came unbuttoned and another i was forced to try to "swing" em, broke my ten pound test. i know i know 10lb on my jig rod, whats wrong with me!!?? problem solved, after this incident i spooled up with 50lb power pro. i was standing on top of this concrete retaining wall that runs around the pond, my feet were probably 5 feet of the water, tried to lift em up and it broke, it probably would have been close to my PB(5lbs). for some reason i wasnt that upset, i didnt bring camera, or scale, or any other tackle, my rod and some jigs, thats it. i just wanted to go fishing, and i had one of my better days this year!! Cliff
  3. i would like to join the local bass club here in waco, but apparently i need to find my own partner with a boat, cuz i dont have one! i am willing to split fuel costs and such, and i can back a trailer pretty good. anyone interested please PM me or just post here. membership is $30(one time, $15 now that season is half over.) then i think $40 for tournament plus $5 for big bass thanks Cliff
  4. i am not cooking anything!! but my father in law is cooking ribs. and i am sure his wife and the other ladies will have a bunch of other good stuff to go with it. next year though i will be prepared. currently i do not own a grill/BBQ, but i am in to process of building one at work. its gonna be sweet, and at 10 cents a pound for the scrap metal, you couldnt get it any cheaper!! happy 4th!! Cliff
  5. just noticed i put this in rods and reels instead of tackle, sorry bout that.
  6. i am sure there are alot of guys who use the V6 and V12 speedbags, but i simply dont need, or want that much space. i am considering the V4 bag with two of the 2" storage boxes (for plastics), one jig box, and one of the small crankbait boxes to hold my hard baits. was just wondering if anyone uses the V4 bag and what they think of it? good? bad? value? its gonna cost me around $70 for the bag and the four boxes. thanks Cliff
  7. fun stuff!! make sure to wear the wrist lanyard, my buddy threw the controller through my father in laws big screen while bowling!!! cost around $500 to repair it i think.
  8. X2 i used to have the AT's on my old toyota...they were great and my wifes car has BFG's on it too...cant go wrong with BFG!!

  17. i took my nephew taylor out tonight for a bit. and he caught his first bass, on a kiwi trick worm. then later on he caught another on MY rod!! we had a blast!! but i think he was eyeballing my revo pretty hard!! thanks Cliff
  18. i have come to prefer BC gear for everything recently. i bought a nice shimano sahara and a american rodsmiths rod a few weeks back because of all the hype about spinning gear for light tackle. i returned them both and got another revo after a week. i can cast anything in my box just fine with the revo. including 1/8 shakey heads. i dont normally go any lighter than that. it seems, like everything else, it is a preference issue...IMO Cliff
  19. Perhaps he's waiting to be set free.... LMAO!!!!! ;D ;D
  20. i used to have 5-6 but i went for the quality over quantity thing too. now i have two....two custom rods both with Revo S-L's

well we had a great trip. good times with my folks and mom kept our bellies plumb full with the best d**n home cookin ever!! ;D i went to cayuga lake friday morning and met up with an old friend for some smallies. i never had to get the camera out. i caught two non-keepers right of the bat and that was it! the weather was terrible. it was nice to see the folks up to the lake but the fishing was just terrible. on the other hand, in my hometown, i took my nephew down to the local river and i landed a nice 31" northern pike. i guessed around 6-7lbs but the "fish calculator" here on BR told me 11lbs, you be the judge. all in all though it was a great trip, but sadly it may have been my last trip to my hometown. my folks will be moving to Ohio soon so when i take my yearly visit, it will be to Ohio. anyway we had fun and it was great to catch a pike again!! Cliff
  22. rods made it back to texas just fine!! see the outing section for the fishing report Cliff
