  9. we are ok here in waco...the brazos and bosque are flooded and have been for weeks now...and lake waco has been shut down as well...from my understanding the lake is completely closed...no swimming, no boat launching, nothing...the gates are closed...last week they said on the morning news they were ging to drain out the lake due to loss of money cuz the parks were closed..but guess what happened that day...it rained! so needless to say...lakes and rivers are flooded but everything else is fine...i think the worst of it was north and south of where i am...hope everyone else makes out ok Cliff
  10. i read something similar...this guy said fish would hit his sinker on a c-rig sometimes...so he would use a three way swivel and add a smaller bait 2 inches from the sinker...i havent tried it for LMB but i have done it for stripers...slab on bottom and a jig up top Cliff
  11. thats hard for me to believe....why would they do that? i thought that if you are a nurse, emt, doctor you are required to help someone in need like that? is that true? pretty crappy deal for the kid Cliff

  13. well me and my partner are the only people fishing these ponds....and i always try to tie on something other than what he is using....as far as size goes, the biggest fish we have caught came one senko, jig and crank..but numbers goes to the senko for sure.....i appreciate the good info guys....gonna hit these ponds again tomorrow, it has been a few days....but due to lake waco being flooded and the huge storm that has been sitting here for the past hour or so....i dont think i will be able to access the lake anytime soon, so these ponds are my only choice for now...and i would rather be casting and not catching than not casting at all...i will let you know how it goes thanks again Cliff
  14. i use a berkley bionix 6' MH for jigs/t-rigs etc and a 6'6" berkley cherrywood for cranks/spiinerbaits/topwaters..i also have a 6' MH cherrywood that i need to get another reel for it, i will use it for t-rigs and such as well Cliff
  15. just the other day, i threw my crank out then turned and started yappin to my bud while diggin in my pocket for my can of dip...i didnt hear or feel the fish...he says..hey hey hey!! i turn around and my line is running...set the hook with one hand (had dip in other) reel her in...2lber Cliff
  16. me and a buddy have been hitting two ponds really hard for about two weeks now....and each time we go the catch becomes less and less to the point now where on our last trip we didnt even get a single nibble....can a small pond get "fished out" that fast? should we leave it alone for a while? we try tons of different baits and presentations but only a few of them seem to produce fish....can the bass get wise to a certain bait and not want it anymore?or do we maybe need to slow down and downsize the bait being presented? the best luck has been on trick sticks, top waters and cranks...jigs and spinnerbaits have only produces a couple fish and t-rigs have shown nothing.....normally i would just assume that the fish arent biting that day....but the pattern shows less and less each time.....any tips is greatly appreciated thanks Cliff
  17. i dont know anything about brakes, but i use the 5501, which is the left handed version and they are just great....i have 2 now and plan to buy another one soon i dont know how light flechero is talking about but i cat 1/4 oz lures a mile on these reels Cliff

  20. well a buddy i have been fishing with has been using this crappy old $10 spinning reel and it dosent really work too well, so i gave him one of my abu cardinals...in return he gave me these... there was over 50 bags of plastics, including GY, zoom, manns, culprit, berkley and many others, plus about 20 zip lock bags with different plastics i didnt count the cranks but as you can see there is a ton of them...rapala, bomber, norman, and some that say "bill dance" on the side and several others i threw away some stuff as it was just crap, but i salvaged most of the plastics and about half the cranks, now all i need to do is buy a bunch of treble hooks and i will be in business, man i am so excited!!! Cliff
