  1. she’s not the prettiest but she doesn’t leak a drop inside. There are major modifications planned for this winter.
  2. That is some collection you’ve got… I’ve found quite a few worth throwing, any not worth throwing(as well as the 100s of bobbers I’ve retrieved) I leave hanging up (out of children and dog’s reach) on the gate to my local park/fishing hole. One more picture.. this is from July/August before I found this forum… as bad as all the snap swivels are this one gets the award for favorite (funniest)find. I collected dozens of bobbers one day (from the bank) using my pole and net setup, these 2 bobbers were just out of reach so I moved along but I just couldn’t leave without taking another shot so I grabbed a paddle from the car to extend my setup and was rewarded with this little gem. I present the dual bobber Amazon swimbait.
  3. I hadn’t planned to fish today but I wanted to check the action on yesterday’s find. The Lord giveth and taketh away… I decided to throw it around with the same reckless abandon as the previous owner.. however I have a net, an 8 foot pole and zip ties so I got it back and in doing so found 2 more freebies in that tree…Scumfrog Small Dog and a jig with XZone craw, both like new, both with the same snap swivels. I’ve decided I’m going into the snap swivel business, I’ll make a fortune locally.
  4. basically new, anybody got an ID? I caught a spinnerbait with my spinnerbait. The Mann’s Baby and Lunkerhunt Frog came out of the same tree… pretty fair chance looking at that rigging they were from the same angler. I wonder what the action was like on that frog.
  5. I appreciate all the input so far everybody… so far all my pickerel have been bycatches. I just realized I should lean into it. I caught several accidentally on topwater while targeting bass.. I missed a lot too, or rather they can’t strike a barn door. Does anybody know what temp is too low to even try topwater? I honestly wouldn’t care if I didn’t land any if I could just get blowups all day.
  6. Yeah, I googled it.. that said I see a jerkbait in this picture. I just bought a bunch of perch colored jerkbaits so that’s gonna be my go to for now.
  7. 2 months ago I would have found them annoying, but since I’m having so much trouble with the bass bite I’ve acquired an open mind.
  8. So stick with the jerkbait and keep it moving fast? SCIF ???
  9. I should have added todays Pick was on a yellow perch Rapala ripstop jerkbait. My pond is loaded with yellow perch so my lure selection leans heavily on that color.
  10. I’ve only been back to fishing since July so it’s basically like I’m completely new. I started catching a lot of pickerel as the water cooled down but never targeted them specifically. I just ended a nearly 2 month catch drought with one at lunch and decided if I can’t beat them join them. I caught some on topwater mid fall, what temps will the topwater bite stop.. something jumped out of the water today I’m thinking it was pickerel since here in Boston-ish the bass are shut down. I welcome any tips for targeting these toothy critters.
  11. Loctite ultra control gel plays nice with elaztech.
  12. I just bought a bunch of different good brands to try. The gamakatsus I got seem the sharpest.. real sticky. I got a 48 pack of madbites for like $8 late in the season and in hindsight they are barely worth $8… the hooks are loose in the weight and like OP said the keepers are awful. If you want to use them rather than waste them cut the keepers off and super glue your plastic on. I’ve been doing that with even the best heads.
  13. 4 inch Yum Dinger green pumpkin chartreuse tail Texas rigged… 4lb 10oz LMB pulled out from under a bridge on a very bright hot day.
  14. I carry Kershaw. So far only needed to cut my lures out of trees.. happens more than I care to admit.
  15. It was like 24ish hours.. I ordered on the 23rd though so I was surprised to see it before Xmas at all.
  16. I have an older 14 foot Radisson (Sportspal made of lighter gauge aluminum at the time) it weighs 44 pounds and can be stood in stock. That said I built outriggers for it to be even more stable. They attach quickly and are pretty light. I take the canoe, paddles(strapped inside) and PFD(wearing it) to the water in one trip, the outrigger setup, claw anchor, anchor poles, and tackle bags next trip. Fishing rods and leftover miscellaneous on a third trip. I plan to add a motor and rig up wheels over the winter so I can outfit the whole rig in the parking lot and roll out in one trip. I live in a condo with no garage and no parking for a trailer, aluminum canoe stored in my backyard is no issue, the rest of the gear stays in the jeep all season. I just put it all in the basement a couple weeks ago. For me his is the best I can hope for at this time… I smash fish in this thing BTW.
  17. … and I felt bad for buying all those hard baits at 62.5% off. I vow to buy one of everything that works well at retail.. Anything that doesn’t work well I’ll just give to some kids.
  18. Just when I thought I was out… you dragged me back in.. still waiting on the first order to ship. I’ve been using these sales to buy things I don’t usually throw, I consider it sample pricing.
  19. Thank you… I was missing the “factory store” from the web address.
  20. Don’t see this anywhere.
  21. I got skunked from the canoe yesterday.. last weekend lost a pretty good fish at the boat, he hit a spinnerbait slow rolling the bottom… the weekend before I landed 3 in 15 minutes on a 60 whopper plopper. My numbers have been dropping. A month ago I was pulling 6-10 fish a trip including usually a couple 3lbers. Never catch fish as big as OP.
  22. Also in MA, watching this thread closely because I haven’t been able to catch anything in a couple weeks.
  23. Reading this right now.. love it.
  24. I’ve been catching them fishing a Zman Goat as a topwater… they miss it a lot though, but it’s fun to watch. I had one make 5 misses yesterday.
  25. Thanks for all the help everyone.. I had a good morning on the ned rig. I catch a lot of perch and bass with it so I think maybe my misses were mostly perch or non commited bass just bumping it. They were smacking it hard today and I was landing them. That all said most of the fish I’ve caught are in the same spot using an identical or very similar presentation so perhaps that’s why the bumps and not bites.
