  1. This got me to thinking. I wonder if there’s a 3d model out there I could print. There is. I’m going to print one and see how I like it. I may design a different one too, have some thoughts pouring through my head…
  2. I fished about 3 hrs today with mine. It’s a falcon 5’6 UL from Academy and a Shimano Sierra 1000 reel (or maybe 500, can’t remember - too lazy to go look). 4# mono. Fished a micro glide and it was really fun. But it’s in a tree now. TEMU for the win.
  3. Whatever I have laying around. I use empty Diet Coke bottles with a bolt through the top generally…I have an issue with Diet Coke.
  4. Nope - went to ditto instead. Just didn’t feel like running “all” the way out there… DM me whenever you want to throw it…
  5. Good deal or not, a baitcaster for $33 isn’t bad. That’s a name brand baitcaster at that.
  6. I bought a Spro bronze eye shad to try and use one day. The package said “it glides”. The “legs” are on the top/bottom of the bait vs the left/right sides. Worst $10 I spent that day. I hate it. I can’t impart any action into it other than a straight retrieve. If I had a local sportsman’s warehouse, I would’ve returned it. But, I bought it out while traveling, so. Im sure it’s me and it’s a great frog. But, I went back to my regular Spro’s. I also find the 6th sense Vega fairly easy to walk. Haven’t tried the hush series yet, so I can’t speak to them.
  7. I throw my jackhammers on a MB Orochi XX Diablo Spec-R. You’re more than welcome to try it sometime if we meet up…
  8. As it relates to casting distance, I find that distance isn’t everything. I focused more on accuracy over the past couple of years and that has led to greater distance as a result. I never even thought of the wrist snap from a spinning setup being an issue. I’ve always fished both, so I didn’t learn on one and switch to the other, so maybe I never noticed. Also, distance is a relative term. Maybe you want distance to get to some certain situation/spots, but just because you can cast farther doesn’t mean that you’ll catch more fish. As for backlashes, you’ve got to “learn” your spool and brakes. For me, I don’t do the “adjust spool tension for each different bait” technique. I adjust spool tension to zero side to side play, and then back it off ever so slightly. If, during a cast I find that I need to adjust it, I will do so then. I don’t automatically adjust every time I switch baits. That said, I also have multiple setups and some are a one-trick pony. Like my bladed jig setup. All I fish on it is jackhammers. Why? I don’t know. I like it, it works, I use it constantly (confidence bait for me), I had TW gift cards I needed to spend? Going from mono to braid without knowing how to solve the backlash problem will just tick you off.
  9. I had to look at my account. I’ve been on this site for about 3 years now and this has got to be THE WORST PIECE OF ADVICE I’VE EVER SEEN WRITTEN HERE. I swear the bait monkey didn’t make me say that…
  10. I didn’t go to Guntersville this am anticipating rain. Absolutely gorgeous day. I believe I’m going to see if anything wants a new frog in the am…
  11. I usually just do a few wraps of big game mono. Really, maybe about 10 yds. I don’t mind filling a spool with braid because I don’t feel like I change line often enough to justify the cost savings. I usually get the 300yd spools of 832 and I can get about 4 ish spools out of one. I usually re-spool once a year regardless (more often if I have to), and I don’t use enough to justify any savings. Sure, I could save money, but honestly, I really like the way braid feels on my thumb. I hate bombing a cast and the double uni from backing to braid slaps my thumb. Nothing wrong at all, just makes me mad I suppose! Oh, and I tie a double arbor for the backing to spool. Not sure if anyone cares or not.
  12. I am a little bias, but I love that place. Update on Forest and Jenny: She laid another egg. Right beside my fishing tackle on my garage floor. So, I put that in her nest. Went and bought some sunflower seeds for her.
  13. I hear ya…I’m a Mississippi State guy myself. We had our run a few years back…I wish your coach would get disgruntled with Knoxville and want to live in Starkvegas…
  14. I thought for a minute you posted a real baseball team…😂😂 Update Day 2: Jenny was off the nest this am when I went to raise the garage door. She started flying into the ceiling, then just landed on the floor. I walked over to her and she just looked at me like “are you serious Clark?” So I snapped a photo. I know doves are not the smartest, but dang…she has hit her head so much on the ceiling that she’s bleeding now. Meanwhile, I look over at the neighbors house and there’s Forest just perched staring at me. I swear I heard him say “you better be glad. My next call was Olivia Benson and Fin Tutuola of Manhattan SVU.”
  15. Show off - again 😁😁 Very nice Pat…
  16. I’m gonna try to hit Guntersville in the morning. I anticipate rain.
  17. And probably closes twice as many!! 😂😂 That is one badass looking motor @Glenn
  18. I find myself throwing regular speed worms probably 5:1 or more to my UV speed worms. Don’t know why, just gravitate towards the “regular” ones I guess…
  19. Gotta figure out how to do it first. Update: Figured out it was Jenny sitting on the nest while Forest was out collecting whatever. (Favorite movie of all time is Forest Gump, so of course we named them Forest and Jenny). Anyway, bait monkey convinced me I needed to run to academy this afternoon for what I don’t know because I got there and didn’t buy anything. Anyway, when I went to close the garage door, Jenny went nuts and flew into it. Finally, she flew out. Came back and nothing for hours. Then, the Bait monkey convinced me I needed something from Bass Pro after I convinced him we needed Del Taco. So, closed the garage door and Jenny just was like “oh, this again. I’m good.” Came back from Tacos and flouro leader gettin and she was still just up there hanging out. Gonna leave my garage door open as long as I can tonight. Don’t know if Forest is a deadbeat bird-dad or not yet; this morning he was on the neighbors house yelling at me, so…
  20. When are we going fishing?
  21. Well, dadgummit…my mom’s gonna be so MAD!! 😂😂 Glad it worked for you. It told me coupon does not apply. But, I have more than I need anyway so…
  22. Nope - don’t know Morse code. We weren’t smart enough in the army. As an infantry guy, I just had to be able to count to about 28 as I didn’t load my mags full… Edited to add - I decoded it. Thanks for the advice brother…
  23. Walked out this morning and found an egg on the ground next to my truck tire. I remember hearing birds fly out of the garage multiple times recently. Finally found it. Mourning dove nest. I replaced the egg and mom/dad came back and hasn’t moved since. I’ve been working in the garage all morning and he/she hasn’t been disturbed at all. Watched a few mins ago the non-nesting bird bring food to the nesting bird. I read that mourning doves incubate in pairs and that the male usually sits during the day and mom at night… Going to get one of my indoor cams to live stream this go…
  24. Really? Come on coastie - drink it up!!
  25. @gim couldn’t we bore THROUGH the Rockies 😂😂
