Susky River Rat

I am always partial to the Susquehanna River.

@gim scoping ruined musky fishing here. This was before it got big in bass fishing the musky guys were already ahead of the curve spotlighting fish.

I just enjoy catching fish. Sure I want the biggest I can get. I’m just happy catching though. There is days when the weather is perfect that makes me happy even if I get skunked. Reeling in fish is a blast. I’ve said it many times if I wanted the biggest fish I could get I wouldn’t be bass fishing. It’s purely for fun.

I don’t even know if I’m going to be fishing till June at this point. What’s fishing? What’s a fish? Who fishes?

I am never against anyone eating a legally caught fish. I personally do not eat anything I catch. The water here is gross.

My anchor is for emergency situations only. I keep it in storage on the boat at all times though.

@Further North I wonder if it has to do with the fishes diet at the time. Like more crayfish red eyes. I know on the susky we get the black spots. Almost like cow spots on the fish. Just a genetic mutation we were told. Nothing cancerous or wrong with them.

My wife is a big scroller on social media. She will make comments like how do they afford another vacation. I’m like don’t compare yourself to them. What you don’t see is them maxing out their 4th credit card to do it. Social media used correctly is a great tool. I’ve connected with people, shared, experiences, and learned. Undoubtedly there is a lot of trash. I do agree it’s getting out of hand. I think society as a whole is going backwards. That’s a topic not for here. We have a great group of bass heads here. From bank fishermen to hardcore tournament guys. We all have something to learn from each other. This place also proves people can disagree on one topic and the next one they are in 100% the same page. That’s respect. I can’t think of one time I have been disrespected here. Which speaks volumes for the active uses and mods.

I am going to do two flips. Flip one. Southern LMB. Seriously have no clue where to begin. I think I would be alright targeting them in slop. After that I don’t know what I’d do. Flip two. Big water like LSC, ST. Lawrence, Erie etc. quite frankly big water scares me in general. I do not feel comfortable on it. Safety or fishing skill wise. It’s mind boggling to me how people can break this down. My only thought process would be to fish it small. Pick an area to focus on and have at it. How I’d do? No flipping clue.

If you’d buy this boat and there was motor issues you may end up out close to what a new boat would be. Boats are made to run pretty much open and up on plane. The gentle use in this probably more of a hindrance. Less maintenance gets done because it’s not used much.

@Backroad Angler if you have that let’s say garage musk. A little smell of oil, gas, grease not a terrible issue. It shouldn’t smell like it’s just being poured or pumped. If you really don’t smell anything without opening the lid I really wouldn’t worry too much. Just air it out here and there. I make sure I have no gas smell because my garage is attached to my house.

Make sure it doesn’t smell like gas. After you’re done using it I’d put a fan in there if you can. Just to try to dry everything out. Even if it doesn’t seem wet it’s a boat there is some moisture somewhere.

I have no issues with it. I honestly wouldn’t use it unless you have to. I fish around a lot of rocks and the braid frays and gets weak.

Excluding the whole boat kayak debate. If I wanted to run 2d and FFS or mega 360 I would 100% have two screens. They are different tools.

I just send things and hope for the best. All fishing gear is just tools nothing sentimental. The memories I make with people are what matter.

You’ll be in the dark side soon as a boat owner 😂 not at all. There is not a single place I fish or would fish where a kayak would be an advantage or more fun. I’d be putting in more work to own a kayak. I work for a living I don’t need to work to fish.

@TnRiver46the way mine doesn’t like flys, bees, wasps, loud noises and other animals it wouldn’t work for us. I’m glad it worked for you.

@Darth-Baiter I can’t take my dog or dad with me in a canoe or kayak. I can’t run the river the way I like in a kayak/canoe. I can’t walk all around in a kayak/canoe.I can see better out of a boat. I do not want to paddle. I don’t want to make a kayak into a no boat with a TM and no gas engine. I fished out of a canoe with a TM before. I wanted a boat to be comfortable. I wanted a boat to feel safe. I wanted a boat to be able to run. I wanted a boat to take my dad or wife. I don’t want to struggle just to hold a spot or throw an anchor to fish areas.

My goodness at first I thought this was him because he made a different account like he did when he made the 2.0. I was hoping to get a good laugh from him. My condolences to his family, friends, and his bass resource family. It was an honor to learn from him.

I guess I’m the only one music playing, trash talking, dog barking, lip ripping redneck here 😂😂 I never once think I should be quieter. I even give the by standers some karaoke depending what song is on.
