Lure Color Rule - Only For Freshwater?
Not to badmouth anybody, but saltwater fishermen sometimes are not as, I guess you could say "scientific" about their fishing. I think they go by tried and true old methods. If they are telling you to use bright colored lures at night, it's probably working for them, but the fact is that using a dark or specifically black lure at night is the best. I fish inshore on the east coast of Florida quite a bit in summer. Inshore fishermen around here have caught on to the dark lure at night rule, but a lot still believe the opposite.

Nice pictures. What kind of fish is that on the first picture?

Galveston pictures
That was a bonnet head shark. It's like a tiny hammerhead. We get lots of them on the coast of Florida. The most sought out fish in our surf is the Pompano.

Giving up on swimbaits....?
Matt's baby bass is sick, I use it pretty often. I have one question for whoever can answer. Say I'm fishing in 8 feet of water with 8 foot visibility. Will a swimbait be productive even if your only getting it down like a foot below the surface?

Favorite Nighttime Lures for clear Resevoirs?
I don't fish for smallies but my luck at night has been with senkos. I have given the black single colorado spinnerbaits a try, but it was not productive at all.

How new is this Rattling RC 1.5?
I'm not sure if this is new or old, but I picked up a copper green shad Rick Clunn 1.5 w/ rattles today. Is this a new product? Do you guys like it better than the silent version? I think I will like it better than the silent version because it is heavier so I can slang it far.

Noob question :)
actually, here is a link for you http://www.fishingclub.com/ExtraContent/ExtraContentDetail.aspx?id=132344 there is a lot of info on these videos, they tell you the pounds it took to break various knots of the same pound line.
-
Noob question :)
I use the "uni" knot, It's easy and strong. Go to google and type in "knot wars" and there should be this website with videos demonstrating how to tie different knots. The uni is on there.

Got a $100 gift card to BPS........
What fine retail establishment would you take your business to instead? http://www.bittersbaitandtackle.com/ They do their own soft plastics which are awesome. They carry pro items like reaction innovations, net bait, deps, and others. They are not overpriced. Their lucky craft selection is twice as large as basspro's. They pour this one soft plastic called "muskrat" which is identical to the sweet beaver. They have a big Yamamoto selection. kut tails, fat ikas, senkos, senko lites (bed bait), hula grubs, ect. They also carry megastrike and evolution jigs. They carry sizmic toads and cavitron buzzbaits. Does Bass pro carry any of these? If I want some fat ikas, cavitrons, sizmic toads, paca craws, sweet beavers, and maybe a pointer 100 in a good color can I go to Basspro? No they don't carry these products. Selection isn't even the main problem with Basspro. It's the staff at the one here in Orlando that know nothing about bass fishing. They get angry too if you can't find something and they show you where it is, like they are so put out to help a customer that is spending money there. They sigh and groan if you ask them to help you find something. And another problem is not Basspro's fault, but the one here is always crowded with tourists and I mean crowded. You go in there and hear like 3 different languages being spoken around you at the same time. So with the way the one here is it makes it hard to get any shopping done. But whatever, why would I shop there anyways with their weak selection and horrible service? John bitter the owner is Jim Bitter's brother who had that heartbreaking loss in the 1989 classic. John is there a lot and is an excellent source for good information and help. You should see his boat out front... wow it is a killer boat bearing the name Bitters Bait and Tackle on the side.

Forget you guys! It's all about the GUNFISH!

Stanley Or Rage Tail?
Thanks for your opinions on these two guys. Where I come from this is a lure that is always tied on a set-up, and with summer coming around the corner it will be ripped through the slop for some mogans.
