Few GC pond questions
if it is a country club, a member should not have any trouble if they are out of play. If it is public and you live on the course, you shouldn't have any trouble. If you get in people's play, or If their is a lot of golf traffic, don't bother, unless you are a largely donating member!

LC Real California and Mattlures Baby Bass test... Amazing!
Went out on the golf course today, to try out these two new lures. I was not expecting too much, because this is the most pressured pond that I have ever fished. Lately it has been terrible. Apparently, up sizing, but not too much, really helped. These two lures are great. The LC Real California was great. This was the second time I used it, but the first time was for less than an hour. Patience is the key because all of my strikes came off of using it as a wake-bait at the slowest retrieve possible. They were all alright size. I'm guessing the smallest was 3.5 pounds, and the largest, 5. The 5 pounder is the one laying next to my rod. She had a lot of length. All the fish were either foul hooked outside the mouth, or hooked in the corner of the mouth. The Mattlures Baby bass actually drew the most strikes (somewhere around 8), but I only landed one of them. The one I landed was strangely hooked on the bottom lip. I was setting the hook way too fast in the beginning. The one I landed, I waited a couple seconds, setting the hook as if I was fishing a 10 inch worm. I like both of these lures a lot. They proved to me that the golf course pond is still a good habitat. Unfortunately, no 6+ pounders.

Strike King King Shad
It is not a swimbait or crankbait. It is a ripbait. It also sucks. I had one of these and started a thread about it and how bad it was. Here's the story: I was on the pond fishing it in the shallows for hours, and only had one strike, and the bass was on. I fought the bass for about 10-15 seconds, then I felt her come off. I reeled in only half of the lure. It is such a cheaply made peace of junk that one of the little plastic hinges riped right off. I'm guessing that was a 5 pound fish. It is definitely NOT a big fish swimbait, constructed to handle large fish. As some of the other people on this forum said on my thread, you have to be kevin vandam to have any luck with one of these!

Cool I cant wait to get a trick dater. I will probably buy two of each (including cyclones) now it's time to decide on colors. T-Rig your the man when it comes to asking questions about lures. Avalon, good info on the cyclone! Thanks guys.

Vision 100 Miyabi, X-80 Trick Darter, or Cyclone series worth buying?
I have 3 Vision 110's and a flap slap. I love the vision 110's and like the flap slap. Yes they are beautiful lures and are way more detailed and intricate than jackall.

Vision 100 Miyabi, X-80 Trick Darter, or Cyclone series worth buying?
Either tonight or Tommorow I want to order several new Megabass lures. I want to try the Vision 100 Miyabi http://www.megabassusa.com/Vision%20100%20Miyabi.htm The feature advertised by Megabass is that on the fall it has some kind of fluttering action. Is this similar to those certain jerkbaits (for example SPRO) where when you pause it the weights inside shift and cause it to jerk a little on its own? Do you think the fact that it slowly falls on the pause will mean that it is less productive than a normal suspending jerkbait? I read that it was for sea bass, but I'm sure largemouth would love it. Is the X-80 Trick Darter any good? How is the action when fished like a jerkbait? Is it's action almost like walking the dog underwater, similar to a Pointer? Or is it a better rip bait, like the 110 with a tight wobble? No one I fish with owns a Cyclone crank. I am thinking about getting the shallowest version in a couple colors. It looks awesome. How is it? Do you think the whole concept of the water tubes running through it really makes a difference, or will it catch just as many fish as my RC 1.5's? Please share any of your thoughts and opinions with me. I hate to place a big order and find out that I wasted my money! I would also like to share with you what I think about them in the future. Thanks.

DIp and Dunk Technique
This is also a little off topic but, One time I cast a rattlin vibe really far near the shore and the wind blew my line over a small limb. I yanked the lure as it was hanging over the branch and the branch broke off making a huge splash. The second that rattlin vibe hit the water I got a hit and caught a 2 pounder. That was weird.

T-rig can get them in Europe, japanese companies have a strong presence in Europe, I normally find them in e-bay stores. Raul, most baits are available from italy but they are way overpriced and the shipping rates are ridiculous. In switzerland you find some LC's but thats about it. I usually buy from japanese ebay stores or ichiban and plat. Check out the crazy prices in this italian onlineshop: www.bassfishingplanet.com 8.90 euros for a bag of flappin hawgs. Isn't that like 15$ US?

Question About State Records
In Florida the species that do not have a record holder have an amount of weight that qualifies. I was looking at records and the record for blue tilapia had nobody, and the website said it must be over 10 pounds to qualify. STATE AND WORLD RECORDS - State record is open; qualifying weight is 10 pounds. The big catch program recognizes blue tilapia longer than 18 inches or heavier than 5 pounds (see state records for updates). http://myfwc.com/fishing/Fishes/non-native.html

The Fishing snake
I hope you will post a DETAILED report after you fish them for awhile. Me too, because despite all the negative feedback about them I've read on this site, I think their action looks awesome and they would catch fish. I'm thinking super shallow, or cast on shore and slowly slide into water. Let us know!!

Fishing a ribit frog
A pretty long time ago I fished the stanley ribbit frog watermelon (red flake?) in a night tournament, and it outfished my buddies black buzzbait 4 decent bass to 1 decent bass. I do remember that most of the lures were deformed and only 2 of them were worth fishing, and that always ticks me off...

Spooning
If you are asking about vertical jigging spoons in deep water (the deepest water I ever fish is 20 feet) I'm interested in finding out how it's done.

best pick for drop shoting?
I would not even try that after buying fishbelly's swimbait. I had it in 5 or 6 inches, i forget. The tail did not swim at all, tried all different weight, it sucked.

Least Favorite Fish to Catch?
That reminds me of when I was really little and I used to fish off this dock/gazebo thing in the intracoastal. I would use things like hotdogs and bubble gum for bait and would actually have fun catching pinfish, stingrays, pigfish, catfish, and oyster toad fish. My dad hated it because he used to be the one to take all these nasty fish off my hook!!
