  3. Nice Pics. Don't cha just love it when a plan comes together? Ya gonna tell us the technique? or Ya gonna keep us in suspense. need mre details.
  4. I think he passed me yesterday. Good Stuff
  5. Actually the Braid does twist, it's just that it isn't affected the way Mono or Flouro are. Just my $.02
  6. Lost one of my favorite Arucu's last year in a local pond. Retrieved it this year (oh!! happy days). the hooks were nearly gone. Replace the hooks but not the Split rings, and went right on catching dem dar bazz. Without being there to witness the event, I'd geuss that either the ring was bad, or the new hook didn't get all the way thru the split ring at replacement. This would have put undue stress on the ring and allowed it to straighten. Who knows??? Just reread your post. So I would suggest "The Magic fingers of Bobby Bass" :
  7. Craiger12, Well now that we've inadvertently stirred the pot and riled some nerves, here are some techniques that I use here in Cent. FLa with Flukes or fluke type baits. I have never fished a Mag Super Fluke yet. As for the Super Flukes (5" ones). I have found a local bait shop that has their store brand that I like better because they're softer than the Zoom Super Flukes. Yes they tear up a bit easier but I seem to get more conversions with them. Here are the sizes so you don't think they are all the same. 1.) Tiny Fluke 2 3/4" - Zoom no body cavity 2.) The Fluke 4" - Zoom no body cavity 3.) The Super Fluke jr 4" - Zoom heavier wider w/body cavity 3.) The Super Fluke 5" - Zoom heavier wider w/body cavity 4.) The Mag Super Fluke 7" - Zoom heavier wider w/body cavity Many others produce and sell these soft jerk baits as well. The point here is that the name "Fluke" has become synonymous with these soft jerk baits. Much the same as with the "Senko" and Stick Baits. I do fish a lot of Zoom tiny flukes on a Drop Shot rig (very effective) both from the bank and from the boat. The original Fluke is in between the 5" super fluke and the 2 3/4" Tiny fluke, at 4" and without the heavier wider body. This I usually fish on a light or Ultra light rig weightless. Lately I've done well throwing this along the edges of grass lines with erratic twitch & pause retrieves. The 4" Super Fluke jr has a thicker body with a slot or cavity for the hook to go up thru. These cast farther that the "Fluke" and they are not as supple as the Fluke. These I like for schooling fish on/near the surface thrown on mono or braid. Again with a twitch/pause retrieve maybe a bit faster that the Fluke along the grass edges. Can be used on the bottom with a CR or TR if you want. The 5-6" Super Fluke is the on I buy locally because of it's softness. This I use weightless near the surface like the "jr" but when the bait fish are larger "match the hatch". Another presentation I use is weightless on flor line in less than 10 FOW. Very light twitch and longer pause (Deadly). Another presentation for the Jr - Super Flukes is to retreive them back across matted grass or over/thru the grass around the edges of ponds. Last but not least, I throw the Tiny Fluke, the Fluke and the local brand or super/5" size on an appropriate sized Arron Marten's Scrounger. This has become one of my favorite search baits this year. the Zoom Super's don't perform as well here, (too Rigid/stiff). Hope this bit of info helps. Good luck & Tight Lines
  8. Great job Paul... Def not a waste of your 2 hrs and the size is just right. Again, great pic. Thanks for sharing.
  9. Craiger12, I'll bet you haven't done a search before you asked your ?? The Articles section of the site has a tone of excellent info on just about any thing you can imagine concerning Bass fishing. Just to save you some time, here is a link to one Article. 17. Randall, was that a Buzztail Shad on the right side your console?
  18. Guess I should visit this form more often, even though I now feel older than the rock that was eroded to make the dirt. Sheeesh 51 out of 56. And yeah I only know longhand math. A night crawler, a hook and bobber on cane pole in WA 1950. Didn't get much better than that. By '54 it wasmy first baitcaster and Steelhead on the Columbia, '57 was back to worms & cane poles in Cent FL. Same summer found me throwin worms & grasshoppers for Trout in MT. 63-71 was owned by the USAF. 71-92 found me working charter boats & private yachts from the Gulf of Mexico to Boston Mass to Argentina, Bahamas, Virgin Isles. The Panama canal is pretty cool if you ever get the chance. I remember when Cancun Mexico's tallest building was the Presidente Hotel and 4 stories and they were still carving the city out of the jungle. Now you can find me stalking the LMB of Cent FL when I'm not chasing Trout in the mountains. Ya know? The older I get, the better I was... Well, those are my credentials for Team Depends, do I get in?
  19. Here is another option. I personally have the foldcat 375 and it's great for 2 people in small waters or rivers. The Sea Eagle has a 6 month send it back warranty. The fabric won't give you any problems, and you'll be a bit drier. Don't let the "Framless" firghten you, it's the neatest thing since sliced bread. http://www.seaeagle.com/FramelessPontoonBoats.aspx Just bear in mind that ANY inflatable will be problematic in the wind, some more than others. Just my $.02 Nick
  20. Glad you're here Larry, Hope to see you over on the Marsh in the next couple of months. Pull up a chair and enjoy. no1 as in no one as in anonymous
