  1. I throw the 1/4 oz Long Bill with a version of a super fluke on it and do quite well. Been thinking of trying something else on it lately.
  2. X2 can't speak to the G-Blanks, but fishing 5 Powell's and no complaints.
  3. Another from Central FLA. I pretty much keep the boat in the garage and beat the banks from 5:30-9:00 am and 6:00-9:00 pm Jun Jul Aug. I spent 21 yrs running charter boats & private yachts. Nowadays, no one is paying me to stand out in the heat & bake my brains out so I don't. Ahhhhhhh !!!!!!!!! That feels better.. Oh! God I feel just a good as if I had attended a 12 step meeting. NEXT ? ?
  4. Congrats... Nice healthy looking fish.
  5. '07 Stratos Cash. 14' 7" Old town Canoe Cash. 375c foldcat Cash. I takes a lot of hard work & discipline to become debt free, but the restful nights are worth every bit of it.
  6. Fortunate you are, enjoy. PM sent
  7. Gotcha...thanks RoLo - Frogg Toggs may be a better option for Fla. as they breath and are ridiculously lightweight. The only place they don't do well is when you are crashing through the brush as they tear easy. The plastic ponchos are like saunas. RoLo - Frogg Toggs (Pro Angler) a couple of $$ more but the pants are Bibs with suspenders. I don't have much luck with draw string pants (except w/mama) I've had a set for 3 years now and they're starting to show some wear. I have found them to quite comfortable for our FLA weather. Stay Dry
  8. As said before, slooowwww down. In the summer, it may take me 4-5 minutes to retrieve one cast with a weightless senko, fluke or anything else fished on the bottom. Trust me 4-5 minutes is a loooong time. Have fished a local 20 acre lake for about 4 yrs now and it is constantly changing it's personality, Got skunked 4 evenings in a row. Then I slowed down and started catching again. Good luck.
  9. The same time every time... to the second. When I get there. Now how's that for punctuality? : :
  10. Nope, not me, I ain't got no problem.. You must be thinkin' of somebody else.
  11. Just got a Powell Max "735 MH Flip Ex-Fast" Really like the feel of it compared Diawa "TDP 701 MHFB" admittedly there was a big diff in $$. But I find the backbone in the Powell much better. since I fish a lot of heavy/thick pad fields.
  12. Where in Central FL would be helpful. Since you asked about PONDS, I'm assuming that you are shore bound. IS that correct?
  13. New Angler, not to complicate things, but this should not go unmentioned. Probably by now you've pulled pretty hard trying to undo the backlash. I can just about guarantee that somewhere in that backlash is a "Hard Kink" in your Flouro. This "Hard Kink" is going to cause line failure for sure the first few times it is stressed. My advise at this time would be to cut the Backlash out getting well below it into the spool. Now since Flouro isn't the cheapest line out there, use what line is left as backing and tie into the new line with a Blood knot or knot of your choice and fill the spool. I've found that for me, about 60-70 yards of Flouro is sufficient for my casting ability. FYI, some KVD Line & Lure applied to your line will help also. HAng in there and keep us updated.
  14. Uncle Nick says, "Don't get the cart before the horse" . Get your tow vehicle first, then the boat. Ain't got nuthin else to say. Good Luck
  15. Five most dangerous words... Maybe it will go away!!
  16. You might want to fix the link to your album on photobucket, I got it to work after editing it. which brings me to my next point. Have you thought about the added weight of the water in the livewell and it's affect on performance/stability/trim ? Also Is there or are you planing on adding some flotation posibbly under the seats? I'd hate to see you put all this work into the boat and for some unforeseen reason have it capsize or somesuch and go down...
  17. I dunno, but maybe Dad had already worked it out for you maybe. IS your dad still alive? maybe you could ask him about it and what had he tried? if anything. I'm lazy and don't like to re-invent the wheel.......
  18. Great Phish Mc How 'bout a few pics of those rods???
  19. Congratulations Stand Proud
  20. Naw Brent, it makes perfect sense to me, They are extremely soft, and the fish do seem to not want to let go. They aren't very durable, lasting at the very most 2 or 3 fish usually only 1 for me. I've fished them in the shallow grass (< 1 foot) the last couple of evenings, and caught fish when I couldn't get a solid bite on anything else that had been working for the last week. Like I said they tear up really easy tho. Can't say as I've had too much luck with them in open water yet, maybe my timing is off. Tight Lines The Buzztail shad makes for a nice topwater bite that we all love.
  21. LMB all 1 @ 7+ 1 @ 6+ 5 @ 5+ It ain't over 'til it's over.
  22. At least you can remember where they last were : Bet the new key will have a duplicate hidden somewhere close by. A real bummer man I feel for you.
