Would you say the blank thickness is about the same for the Bushadder vs Swamp Survivor? My Super Elseil is a bit thick and I really don’t want it be much more than that. I’d rather just get a P5.

How the Ryugi Dagger size 10 treating ya? I’ve been using BKK Spear 21-SS size 12, but wanted something that was made in Japan.

I’m in need of a versatile Heavy Expride to throw 3/8oz chatterbaits, 5” SwagLT or mag drafts 3/4oz, 1oz glide bait, 6th sense trace 5” 0.95oz. Would the 7’2” Heavy fast or the 7’3” heavy extra fast be best!?

I picked up NRX+ 852c JWR recently and own a 843s SJR, so I wanted to try something different! I’m sure I’ll enjoy the Ultima! I almost grabbed a Legend Xtreme 73ML too!

How does the Ultima 7’ ML feel? I want to pull the trigger on one too. My other option was a NRX+ NRR. I plan to throw 1/15 or 1/10 NED EWGs. Either one would be paired with a Vanquish C3000XG. Thanks for any insight!

@freelancer27, which Antares DC did you with? HG or XG? How did it work out for Chatterbaits long term? I got a good deal on a HG and XG. I’m trying to decide which one to keep!?

The Varivas Max Power I use PE 1.5 = 28.6lb and the Varivas Bass PE 0.8 = 16.7lb. The full timeline is I had a Vanquish with SSV2 10lb, then Sufix 832 10lb, then Varivas Bass PE 0.6, then Varivas Bass PE 0.8. Then I swapped to a Twin Power with Varivas Max Power PE 1.5 to get back to something closer to American 10lb braid that I was used to aka 0.20mm diamater braid. It could be lack of memory or the combo of Twin Power + Varivas Max Power PE 1.5, but I overall felt like it was a bit easier to reel in fish. I plan to spool the Vanquish with the same PE 1.5 to see how each reel compares to figure out where I want them to live. I think it’s going to come down to low start up inertia/lightweight vs the “power” of the TP.

Opposite of what I’ve got going on lol. Both reels only for Varivas PE fairly recently. I just to stop being lazy and pull off the PE 0.8 and put the same Max Power PE 1.5 on for a fair comparison.

The new Vanford is pretty. It’s on the list to replace the older Vanford on a Zodias. I’ve got the new Twin Power it’s a looker too. The Vanquish is bit shiny for some people, but it matches my Expride well! 🤷‍♂️ I’m hoping to either get another Expride in ML to put it on or say YOLO and go get the NRX+ NRR!

I usually let them pull drag, but there’s sometimes I don’t feel confident in the hook set and i try to get them into my net faster. I feel like getting them in faster rather than dragging the fight out helps preserve some of their energy and vitality I’ve noticed.

I was more speaking about the fighting and cranking. Don’t get me wrong, I was having fun with Vanquish + Varivas PE 0.8 (I had 832 10lb), but I feel more confident with Twin Power + PE 1.5. It could just be the braid strength. I think I just need to spool PE 1.5 on the Vanquish and fish both in the same day to really tell.

I completely agree with this. Daiwa LT models under $110 are much lighter than the Shimano equivalents. The Fuego LT punches way above its weight, especially with Magseal adding further protection. One could argue 2 Fuego LTs over 1 Stradic would be smarter. I have a E6x 610 mag-light DSR with a Tatula LT on it currently. The vanquish might be going on soon though since the Twin Power FE is on the Expride now!

Is anyone using the Vanquish for smallmouth? I’ve been using a Vanquish c3000XG exclusively on my Expride M 7’ rod. I had it on a Curado 76L, but I use my Expride more. I recently picked up a Twin Power FE c3000MHG and I’m enjoying the cranking power. Makes me wonder if the Vanquish is too finesse for my fishing? I’m fishing in larger creeks, where smallmouth max out at 3.5 lbs, 4lbs of the stars are right. Somebody commented on another platform that Vanquish is terrible under load. Thoughts?

I dusted off my E6X DSR mag-light recently for Ned Rigs and I love it! I was set on only using it for drop shot, but the sensitivity seems better than my Expride MF (now broken). Not to mention, paired with a Tatula Lt, it’s super light and I get less fatigued!! How’s the victory going? I have a 7’3” Victory MLXF + Fuego LT 2500 that’s my wife’s favorite. I’m surprised they don’t make a 7’1” ML.
