  1. Itching for a mere glimpse eh 🤣
  2. This is accurate ^. Exact same frame
  3. I've fished a few of my curados in saltwater for the last ~3yrs and somewhat regularly, maybe 30-40 days per year. It's a must to take good care of it to prevent any issues. At the end of the day I cut all my lures off, mist my reel in every direction all while reeling to keep the spool spinning and engage thumb bar etc. Then remove the spool from the reel and mist it, dry it, then wipe it down with clenzoil and leave it to dry overnight. I also wipe my reel down everywhere with clenzoil as well, including the spool chamber. Once I started doing this, I didn't have any issues with fishing them in saltwater. I had one reel that acted up on me a few years ago when I wasn't taking the proper steps to care for it. If you do these things, it should be fine.
  4. Can we all just decide it's okay to post rods and reels in here? It's easier to have everything in one place. Might as well go ahead and separate terminal, hard lures, jigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, soft plastics, and line while we're at it. Only makes things more difficult to have rods and reels in a separate place
  5. I've done the same on mine. Haven't noticed any disadvantages
  6. They are designed to suspend nose down. Nothing is wrong with your lure
  7. I just bought an Ark Tharp 6'9" ML for my BFS setup and I like it. I think they retail for ~$120
  8. I ended up actually ordering one of the PX BF 70s. Never had a Daiwa BFS reel before, only a Curado BFS. I really don't like Daiwa's "full size" casting reels for a few different reasons and have always been a Shimano guy, but wasn't happy with the Curado BFS so I figured I'd try one of the Daiwas. I was super impressed with my ~1 hour casting around a pond. Was getting more distance than I ever did with the Curado and throwing lighter stuff. Gonna try to get out on the boat soon and get a full day with it. I fish BFS kind of similar to you it sounds like - mostly lures in the 4-7g range. Reel seemed to handle that spectrum great!
  9. Awesome. Good info. Thanks!
  10. What's your rod/line setup on them? And what weights are you typically throwing on them?
  11. Good point. If I were to fill up the stock spool though with the same amount of line that the Avail spool can hold, I wouldn't see much of a difference between the two I assume? Do you have this spool/any experience with it?
  12. I just so happened to be looking at Avail spools for an SLX 70 today and stumble upon this 😂. I've got some questions if you can help out! I found this spool on Hedgehog's website: https://www.hedgehog-studio.co.jp/product/5036 First off - will this work in a USDM SLX? Or only a JDM one? Second - it appears to say in the description that the Avail spool is 10g and the stock Shimano spool is 10.5g. I wouldn't think there would be any noticeable difference in casting with that small of a change. Do you know if that's the case or if I'm misunderstanding their description? Does the Avail spool offer any other benefits that help with casting lighter stuff?
  13. A faster tip will make it easier to impart action on the lure but you're more susceptible to losing fish with trebles + fast action. A more moderate tip will make it more difficult to impart action but will be easier to keep fish pinned once they're on. Pick your poison 🤣 Everyone kind of has different opinions on what is best, hence why manufacturers make "jerkbait rods" with all sorts of different powers and actions. If you want to play it safe and just split it down the middle, grab something with a mod fast action
  14. It's impossible to do every single technique out there properly with one rod. That being said, a MH can cover about 70-80% of techniques. If you add a ML to the mix, it can cover any remaining finesse techniques. Then you're pretty much left with being able to do everything but big swimbaits, A-rig, and punching. Essentially just anything that weighs more than ~1.25oz
  15. I would throw 40 or 50lb braid personally

  17. They're a little thicker than ideal but keep in mind you need some area to push down on in order to lock them into place. If they were too thin you wouldn't have that. You can also run some of the spots with no bins and just place your tackle (doesn't really work with terminal - moreso for lures) directly on the bottom of the box provided it's surrounded by bins to keep it in place
  18. It's an expensive option, but I like the Buzbe boxes. It helps minimize wasted space since you can swap the individual bins out in order to fit whatever it is you're storing most efficiently
  19. Daiwa just introduced two new BFS reels to the US market. For those that are familiar with their JDM lineup - how do these compare and where do they fit in with their existing options? I don't know a lot which is why I'm asking on here. It appears to be the first 70 sized BFS reel that they have offered
  20. I just ordered a few to try. I'm supposed to get them in the mail today and can let you know after I test them out in the pool. But based on underwater footage I found, the following suspend nose down like the V110s do: Lucky Craft Flash Pointer Lucky Craft Staysee Berkley Stunna
  21. I'd go with a MH. You won't get any distance throwing weightless plastics on a heavy stick
  22. Don't go the swivel route. FG is the best braid to leader knot. I also use a double uni from time to time if I need a quick retie and my guides are large enough to allow it to pass through (pretty much any non micro guide)

    Awesome, I'll check them out!
