The latest sale thread
My last Digitaka order showed "Signature Required" from fedex. Of course they just throw it on the doorstep and marked that I signed for it. I don't mind in this case because porch pirates aren't an issue in my area but ya gotta love fedex. Also fedex customs had me verify the value for that order, it was a Metanium and I told them the purchase price and it got sent through to me 🤷♂️

Solid tip: Expride vs Poison Adrena
I don't have the Poison Adrena but I just picked up the 7'4" M+ Expride solid tip and got to take it out this past weekend. I've had the 6'10" M Expride solid tip for most of last year. Under 3/16oz with sub 4" baits for sure the 610 M... above that the M+ feels better to me. Weights above 1/4oz on the 610M felt like they overpowered the tip, especially the 5-6" baits or the heavyweight sakamata which felt like it was going to snap the tip on casting. I have not tried lower than 3/16oz on the M+ yet but I feel like it would be fine with 1/8oz. Going forward the 610M is gonna be used with 1/8-3/16 with a mooch minnow or baby z-too, everything else will be on the 74M+ I know the length is different but if the Poison Adrena 610M+ is anything like the M+ Expride is the power is a sweet spot for shakin' a minnow. *disclaimer: I suck at fishing and only had 1 bite on a minnow all day.... but I'm trying to learn 😁.

3700 Storage Racks.....??
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sterilite-Large-File-Crate-Available-in-Multiple-Colors/11014785 These Sterilite file crates for $5 a piece at Walmart fit 3700s nicely and can be stacked both vertically and horizontally (like a book case). I'll try to snap a picture when I get home.

Go to Underspin?
Another vote for the Northland Smeltinator but 1/4 oz 2/0 with a 3" Crush City Mayor. Superglue helps (Loctite control gel). I had previously used the Dirty Jigs TB mini underspin but something changed about a year ago and hookup ratio went waaaay down. I read they changed the hooks possibly. Switched to the smeltinator underspin with the gamakatsu hooks and I was back in business. I've not tried the larger underspins yet but I did pick up some 1/2oz 4/0 smeltinators on amazon haul to try next year.

Expride 7’6 MH for treble hooked baits?
I also have the glass 76mh expride which is what I use to bottom hop lipless, with fluoro though. Drastically different rod than the non glass but the length really helps for those bomb casts.

Expride 7’6 MH for treble hooked baits?
I think it would work fine but the length might bother me with how I work topwater. Mine is used for spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, swim jigs, swimbaits (swag LT), and sometimes carolina rig. Its a really versatile rod that I'm sure would be good with chatterbaits, t-rig soft plastics, and jigs but I have other rods for those things. Recently switched from braid-leader to straight fluoro, which I'm liking for spinnerbaits and the 4-6" soft swimbaits.

Minnow shaking rod/reel setup
I think you are probably right about going to heavier. There is also the 610MH solid tip to consider. I do wonder if solid tip is even the right choice when you get to 3/8+oz. The 7ft M expride (normal tip) or even the 72ML (which I own but only use for dropshot, it fishes like a medium) might be good picks.

Minnow shaking rod/reel setup
3/16oz 90% of the time. 1/4oz works but that solid tip is LIMBER and the weight starts to overpower it IMO. Have not gone below 1/8oz but I'm sure it would have no trouble casting lighter stuff. Mostly Owner range rollers and the Queen Tackle rollin strollin or their normal tungsten ball head. 4 or 5" Raid super fish rollers, Z-too and baby Z-too, really like the new 4.5" mooch minnow that I just got. Thinking about getting the 7'4" M+ solid tip for the heavier/bigger weights. Still trying to figure it all out, its not nearly as easy as the pro's make it look. Some days they follow every cast but you can't get them to bite, other days they come out of nowhere and smoke your bait 🤷♂️

Minnow shaking rod/reel setup
I made two combos for my son using Daiwa Aird-X rods (6-6M and 7ftM) with Daiwa Revros reels. ~$100 combos at the time. They work shockingly well for shaking a minnow. The 6-6M for up to 1/4oz and the 7ft for 3/8oz or bigger minnows. I also have the 610M solid tip Expride with a Vanford 3000 which is great if its in your budget. Expride setup is obviously better but that Aird-X/Revros combo is an insane value.

American Legacy Fishing
I'm not sure how responsible they were if at all.... The original owner died a couple years back and his daughter took over, that's when all the problems started. I've dealt with Brian and Chad, both great guys, I hope they succeed.

High-End Texas-Rig Dropshot Spinning Rod
I would imagine the NRX+ 872s would be in that area. I don't own that one but do own a NRX+ 852s which I'm not sure has the right tip for dropshot but haven't actually tried using it for that.

High-End Texas-Rig Dropshot Spinning Rod
Maybe not high end enough but I love my 72ML Expride for dropshot. About 90%+ of my dropshoting is Texas rigged, 1-1/0 Owner Cover Shot and a Missile Baits magic worm. Around and in grass. I feel like its more of a ML+ power. Sensitive soft tip and then lifts into some decent backbone for the hookset. I feel like the longer rods are better for texas rigged hook dropshots vs those traditional 6-8 to 6-10 dropshot rods.

Shimano Expride B model recommendations and a question about casting distance
I do weightless t-rig senkos on my 6-10 MH Expride B. I'm not bomb casting these, mostly skipping around docks and cover. I would feel comfortable using the 7-2 MH as well. I love the Exprides and have a bunch. I'll go ahead and list them all and what I use them for: Casting: 6-10M - jerkbait/poppers 6-10MH - weightless texas rig 7-2ML - underspins/small swimbaits 7-2MH - weighted texas rig/free rig - creature/craw/worm - have used for spinnerbaits 7-3XH - Frog/larger single hook swimbaits 7-6MH - swim jigs/swimbaits - I would use this for chatterbaits 7-7H - a-rig/magdraft/glide baits Braid to leader on all except 77H is straight 20lb fluoro Spinning: 6-8M - minnow 7-2ML - dropshot I'm probably going to pick up the 7-6 MH Glass for mid/deep crankbaits and imagine it would work well for chatterbaits, I already have the Champ XP 736CB Glass that is a great bladed jig rod. Hope this helps, exprides are awesome. If I was telling someone the first one to get it would be the 7-2 MH, setting the hook with that rod just feels special.

What color jig are you throwing in clear deep grass
BC Lil'Magnum is my favorite jig for grass. I fish mainly on a clear lake with lots of stringy grass and some curlyleaf. I pair it with a crush city cleanup craw mostly. The head shape and vertical line tie come through grass really well for me. Not the best choice around wood. Favorite colors are green pumpkin blue (ALF exclusive color), green pumpkin, or stealth pumpkin. You can drag it, hop it, swim it.... extremely versatile.
