  1. No, and i couldn't care less if somebody did. Why would i care for someone's opinion that uses a crunchy reel for $35 with an UglyStick from CanadianTire lol.
  2. I might've given a custom rod a try, but nobody around makes em, and i need a 4-5pc rod for transport, which is most likely harder to custom build.
  3. Well, i bought one, the Compatto GCMC-705M, so there's that😁Spring can't come soon enough.
  4. Never owned one from them, but they do look sweet, and seeing that Made In Japan sticker on most of their rods is a big plus to me. Generally speaking, how are their rods? I've heard that they're a bit brittle. Kinda want to try one for the 2025 season.
  5. the 6.10 medium one. Loved it before it exploded, tho. Very good rod for the price.
  6. Exploded mine. And that was the first rod i break in over 10 years.
  7. Nobody at Daiwa claims that SV casts the furthest, but with DC, they could. That way they'll cover control with SV, distance with DC and affordability (for the most part) with mag-z. No downsides to this.
  8. The SLX and the Curado are both very popular. And remember, this will allow Daiwa to essentially sell you the same frames with a different spool and braking system inside, which is much better from their end than creating a brand new frame. This is some low effort money printing, and there's no way they aren't taking full advantage of this. If the DC patent didn't last 20 years, Daiwa would already have a bunch of DC reels in their lineup. The Zillion DC is coming, i can feel it😎
  9. Are you gonna tell me that having a "we have a computer inside our fishing reel" is not gonna sell by its own? The answer is marketing, and i am expecting them to go all in on this. Considering how well all the low end DC reels from Shimano are doing, still believing that Daiwa isn't jumping on the bandwagon is being very naive.
  10. Look at the next Steez CT having a DC module. Shimano's patent running out in a few months, and its guaranteed to be used by Daiwa.
  11. People used to flip with a Pixy. No way a Steez CT wouldn't be able to handle it.
  12. Look good, but i would at least expect a carbon handle on a so called limited edition. This is easily one of the better frames made to date, tho. Looking at the Lews Elite Ti, it would've been nice if they coated this Steez CT with titanium. That would be much more "limited edition".
  13. The Expride has a stronger blank, so i'd get that. The XX explodes too easily.
  14. My best guess is that it was already noisy, because a years old Tat is like a 1 years old micro module shimano, it'll buz harder than a bee. If you have other Tats, swap gear sets to see if the buz can be transfered to another Tat. Getting a new pair of gears will most likely fix the issue.
  15. Was it a known place, or some no name spot the guy accepted reels for a cleanup? Only for the spool and side plate bearings. No reason to do so on internal bearings unless they're crunchy and need cleaning.
  16. I'd grab the zillion hd and be done with it.
  17. Boca has a pair like this. I personally did not like em at all. Spool pins that are tightly fitted, these pliers can deal some damage to the spool shaft, especially on the rc-001 and rc-002 zpi spools that are full magnesium. Much prefer the SLP Works tool, the one from KTF is also great.
  18. Just get one from aliexpress. Don't buy the cheapo one, but the one from Gomexus for example is pretty good. Do you happen to have a picture for that tool?
  19. Used the steez ct, incredible frame/reel. Met dc 70 still being delivered to me, so haven't had the chance of using it. But yes, all Mets made since 2020 are the same, and the only difference in size is the few mm bigger side plate on the met dc 70 and spool capacity.
  20. I do once a year since 2015-2016.
  21. I got the MH black lable and two legit design rods as well. Barely had the time to use the Black Label, but loved the flex on the cast. Haven't had the chance to try the two legit design rods, its snowing. Have you tried any of the Triza's?
  22. This is the model i am interested in. Looks pretty good.
  23. These rods look pretty clean, but not much info floating around.
  24. If you want something as cheap as possible, but at the same time you want it to feel and last just like a premium $400 reel, i'd suggest to get the Alphas. If you can get to $200-220, the Zillion all the way.
