Expride 7’4 H vs Xtasy 755
Thanks, that’s good to hear. I think you’ve mentioned having a conquest MBR or two? I suppose it’s night and day between the two in terms of sensitivity?

Expride 7’4 H vs Xtasy 755
Ive heard mixed reviews about dobyns sensitivity, but not much about the xtasy. Do you feel like you're missing out on anything with it?

Expride 7’4 H vs Xtasy 755
I know that these rods aren’t in the same price category with a $250 gap between them, but I’d be very interested to hear if anyone has fished them both, and how they compare to each other in both action and sensitivity. The Expride is labeled a mod-fast but I’ve always heard that Dobnys rods fish softer than other brands, so I’m wondering how similar they might be in this category. When sensitivity gets brought up the NRX+ is always mentioned, and i know both of these models will be less sensitive, but I couldn’t really find a comparison between the two. I’m curious how big of a gap there really is and if that $250 actually adds anything as far as sensitivity.

5.8 bullflat losing tail?
When fishing the 4.8 bullflat I would frequently lose the tail in my first few casts from small bass or bluegill. I'm curious if the 5.8 will be less prone to this issue because the tail is a little bigger and less easy for the gills to grab on to? I know its the same ultra soft plastic but I'm interested if you think this will help.

What high end item is worth the extra cost?
Line and hooks are two things that I don’t mind paying premium for.

Losing bass in kayak
Where are you loosing them? Right at the boat or earlier that that? Also what is your rod and line setup right now? Last year fishing out of a kayak I used a 7’3 MH/F with 30lb braid to fluoro leader. This setup helped me land the vast majority of my bladed jig fish. I think the faster rod and braid helped me get a positive hookset right away and I was able to bring them in pretty easily on a big jig hook.

Beast hook weight for bottom crawling
What weight 8/0 beast hook would you recommend for slow crawling bottom in 20-30ft with a 6” trash fish and 6” fatty trash fish? Would 3/4oz be overkill because I’d be working it so slowly?

2025 MN Fishing Season thread
@WaskaCrank12 are you seeing any forage near the surface in the areas that you are targeting?

2025 MN Fishing Season thread
That sounds an awful lot like my fishing for the last 3 weeks. I haven’t been on a solid pattern since August. Fish from inches of water out to over 20ft and no pattern on baits either. Kind of a weird/frustrating time of year for me.

What can I do, if anything, to fish the bottom of a mucky pond?
My Tokyo rigs normally have around a 3” dropper. I’ve found multiple mucky areas that will completely swallow the whole rig. In spots like I think a power shot/ flip shot would be the way to go if you want that style of presentation.

My go-to lately for spots like this. Thr weight plunges down into the slop but the plastic stays above and is visible to the fish. A Tokyo rig will work but if there’s too much slop it will pull the bait in.

Copolymer Issues
It’s breaking at the knot every single time?

It finally happened 2 me. I was hook-bit!
I got a fusion 19 treble past the barb in my hand about a month ago. One treble was still in the fish so this made things interesting. I got very lucky because I almost got the third treble in my other hand, not sure what I would have done then. Ive been way more careful with treble hooks since then.

Largest diameter (pound test) non-braid line do you use?
That’s all open water stuff? Do you bump it up when you’re up in the cover?

Online Lure Retailers?
Omnia fishing. A place pretty local to me that carries a bunch of stuff.

Storm Arashi glide durability
I’ve seen some reviews on this bait saying that it will only last a few fish before it starts to run bad and or have other issues. I’m curious if anyone here has had these problems?

Fishtechy - Cool fishing gizmo
It would be pretty interesting to do a little experiment and measure and weigh the next few you catch to see how close the app is.

Can the thicker upper body of pintail trailers be too much or overpower/throw the balance of smaller bladed jigs?
Spunk shads are weird sometimes. Occasionally I’ll only get a couple fish but lots of the time I’ll get 10+ fish before the trailer even starts to fall down or show any damage. Ive never kept track but I bet ive had nearly 30 or so fish on one trailer. A little super glue could help you out too. Not elaztech but still pretty good durability. If you only will consider a durable plastic you could try a 3.5” crush city mooch minnow or the 3.5” jerk shad that is made by the same brand as the bladed jig you are using.

I doubt it would affect the action much but you could always go with a 3.5” spunk shad or a 4” stroll shad if you’re looking for a smaller pintail.

Picasso Titanium Spinnerbait.
“Eventually” happens a lot quicker when you’re dealing with countless pike. A 17” hammer handle will wreck a regular bait single-handedly. And unlike a senko a spinnerbait has alot of drawing power and any pike in a 20 mile radius will see one swimming past. Some lakes I fish I’ll catch pike 3-1 over bass. I’m not saying that anything is wrong with a standard spinnerbait but it just isn’t idea for some of us.

Picasso Titanium Spinnerbait.
I’m curious. Seems like most spinnerbait enthusiasts love the terminator T1s. Why hasn’t another brand come out with a direct replacement for them? A standard style spinnerbait with a titanium arm. Obviously it would cost more but people are willing to drop $25 on a vision 110 or $20 on a Jack.hammer I think there’s a great opportunity for a brand to come along and made a bunch of money.

Still 74 down there @gim? Didnt get above 68 the last time I was out and we’ve had some major grass dieback’s because of the chilly temps.

Expride 7’6 MH/MF for lighter stuff
Anybody? I’m basically between the 7’6 and the 7’2 MH for a replacement all purpose MH. I’m leaning towards the 7’6 for extra casting distance, leverage, and line pickup but I’m wondering how it will handle weights down to the weightless senko and weightless fluke range.

Mavrik 110 treble upgrade?
Thanks man! I see the #5s in stock at Omnia so I’ll grab some of those and some of the Ichikawas and see what I like the most.

1-3 oz hard swimbaits
I’d assume the ones on TW are still the old model, or not?
