  1. Looks like it is not made anymore? https://www.gloomis.com/products/imx-deep-flex-crankbait?srsltid=AfmBOoreoyI4sWGn3M70UnpOx0ZH18e5LjY8NdtSTAtcmQ-YtgKxa_rR
  2. Hmm, I actually have not considered that at all honestly. That is a good point. I do have an 8' Loomis GL2 I use for steelhead, but it is a faster action rod. I was thinking along the lines of needing something moderate for the deep cranks. I also own the 7'6" mojo mh/mf, which actually has quite a bit of backbone and I consider to be more of a m/f than mh/mf. Heck, maybe I will take those two and go throw some giant cranks just to experiment before spending the coin. I did just pick up two 6th sense cloud 9 c25's because they were only $2 a piece. It is extreme, but would give me a good idea of what the extreme end of crankin would feel like on those baits. I am more targeting c15's and c20's. I don't see myself ever using those giant c25's too often. But they were too cheap to pass up.
  3. Taking a hard look at diving into the realm of deep crankin'. I have a lot of interest in the LTB Power Glass Cranker after seeing @A-Jay's video review and some others online. My dilemma is no one close to me carries this rod, and I have a real hard time spending the money without being able to handle what I am buying first. I am not just stuck on this stick though, I am also open to Loomis, Edge, and Lamiglass. I currently run shallow to mid cranks on a Mojo 7' mhmf "spinnerbait" rod that works very well for those lures. 65% of my stock is St Croix, and most the others are Loomis. Those are my main go to manufacturers. Can anyone help persuade me in my decision of buying a $$$ rod blind? My biggest hold up with the LTBC74MHM is from the photos I can see, it looks as though the cork for the palm of your hand has a rather slender, skinnier diameter than I like. I like a fat cork as I have large hands, and get fatigued easier with skinny cork grips.
  4. That three bucks would get you a pack of dingers
  5. Edge Rods are pretty dang nice. I have had a couple. Mr. Gary Loomis is a friend and my dad's next door neighbor. He gave me a couple to try out and though I did not pay for them, I will say I think they are worth every penny if paying for them. My one and only gripe, and this is a personal thing, is that I much prefer rods with cork grips over carbon fiber after using both. But that said, Edge Rods are very light weight, very sensitive, and well worth the money. I have a 7'6" that is probably the best rod I own. I love everything about it.
  6. That happened to me the other day on 2 different occasions with baby bass
  7. Only 4 dinks today in 4 hours. Tried a bunch of new techniques though. And my new curado mgl 151 6.2 is amazeballs.
  8. Where did you live? I'm in Hockinson now. Lived in Woodland for years. How about a Lamiglas SI bass spinning rod? Mine is pretty darn nice. Got it at the warehouse for $100 few years back.

  10. I read that as he has caught hundreds of bass and most of his catches are 6lb+ fish. But I knew what he meant. 😅 I think bass heads get way too caught up on rod power in general (I know I do). Unless yarding a gigundo out of the slop with 20 extra pounds of weeds, it really does not matter. I constantly catch salmon and steelhead 5x - 10x bigger than any local bass on rods that are MUCH lighter power than my bass gear. Granted the rods are 9 feet in length, but definitely much lighter power. All while fighting strong currents and fish dancing on the surface like crazy. Heck, even large trout can fight harder than bass, can weigh just as much as average bass, and I catch them frequently on ML rods and 3 wt fly rods. It really boils down to whether you like to play the fish, or winch them in like a yarder thats behind schedule.
  11. Deschutes and bourbon barrel aged = The Abyss. One of the best beers ever made. Released in very limited quantities every year in November. Used to come in 22oz. Now you get a 4 pack of 12oz. I still have bottles of this dating back to the 2008 release in my cellar. I buy a case every year. And Guinness is not a good beer.
  12. The bait monkey showed up at my door due to you guys posting all these sales. Everything I purchased was 25 to 75% off and you guys still cost me $370! I can't wait to get home and check it out. Two more hours!
  13. Fenwick HMX 7' MF is a pretty decent rod for $100. I have a two piece that I keep in the truck at all times. Pair that up with a Shimano Nasci for $100 and you have a pretty decent setup for $200.
  14. When I hear cottage I think Europe. Its definitely not a cabin either. Cabin's do not have amenities. Walking distance to the lake? It's your lake house.
  15. I did not know that about Anchor. That is crazy to hear. @TOXIC Are you into dark beers? That is about all I drink when I am drinking a beer. Deschutes Black Butte Porter has been my staple go to. But when I want something for flavor, always bourbon barrel aged imperial stouts. Beers so dark and thick you can eat them with a spoon. Not much of an IPA fan. There are only two I have ever tried that I like. Anything that says "sour" or "fruit" you can keep.
  16. I'd take a hard look at the NRX 6'10" mag medium. Incredible rod in the line.
  17. I live in Washington. Close to Portland, Or. The northwest in general has an insane amount of breweries with more popping up all the time. I have to admit I am a bit of a beer snob. I have had microbrews from all over our country (ordering direct). There are a couple east coast and midwest breweries I do enjoy, but in general, the micro's produced in the northwest are hands down better than any other region in the US. It is really hard to beat the hops that are grown in this area. I do not believe the beer industry is on the decline what so ever in my area.
  18. Prayers to you and your family. Stay strong!
