  1. Been doing pretty good with a chatter bait this year, typical retrieve is cast it out let it hit the bottom then snap it off of the bottom and slow roll it back. A lot of times it will get hit within seconds of it touching the water.
  2. It’s always something, the day it ends is the day they put you in the ground. It is a little more tolerable when you are able to take care of the problem yourself.
  3. I have a scale in the boat and rarely weight fish, If i think it will exceed 5lbs I will usually throw her on the scale.
  4. Thanks Toxic The house has a dock but I definitely planned on launching from a few different locations to avoid getting beat up. I will take a look at the pm later. Thanks again
  5. That's a beautiful fish congrats.
  6. Toxic that's really nice of you any help would be greatly appreciated, we rented the totally hooked lake house in Fairhaven, hoping its not to far out of the way. I have a 1754sc with a 60hp on it so definitely hoping for good weather .
  7. Glad you had a great trip, I’m planning on going their next year I believe the dates are 5/15-23., will be my first time so I have some investigating to do.
  8. You really don’t realize how much you miss something until you lose it, I found myself trying to check in multiple times a day. Glad you are back up and running and that everything is ok.
  9. Beautiful fish, I have to throw a jerk bait more this year definitely not one of my confidence baits.
  10. Very nice catch Swamp Girl and I wish I had half your luck, you most certainly have plenty of skill and definitely know how to put them in the boat.
  11. Congrats, nothing wrong with being recognized for all your hard work.
  12. Tremendous day on the water, glad you hammered them and hope you beat your new record soon.
  13. Beautiful boat congratulations.
  14. No problem glad you found it useful.
  15. They actually don’t go onto the deck and you can angle the rod holder different ways.
  16. Joe I see you have a 12v battery on your fish finder, you can use this 18v-12v step down transformer you Will definitely get more run time. I have a 1754 sc which has no rod storage so I picked up this rod holder, I primarily fish from the front so it doesn’t get in the way but I have boat flipped fish over it with no problem. Will definitely keep the rods from under your feet.
  17. Spoke with the Ranger at Manasquan reservoir and the ramp is officially open.
  18. I have done this trip 3 times prior it’s $495 for 4hrs you can fish off of a pontoon boat with artificials and live bait or they have a few nitro boats they are all artificials. I usually do the pontoon boat so I can live line shiners while fishing with artificial baits. The last time I went we caught so many fish I had the borrow gloves from the guide because my thumb was getting tore up. The largest bass I have caught there was around 5lb and there are plenty in the 3lb range. It’s definitely nice to break up the trip and you get to see the property from a different perspective. All rods and lures are provided but I usually bring a couple of chatter baits and trailers to fish with (black and blue).
  19. Nice to see everyone is starting to catch, we still have ice on the water here in NJ, I’m going to Fl to visit the mouse for a week next Saturday and will do a 4 hr guided trip out of Fort Wilderness to get my fix and hopefully when I’m back I can get the boat in the water. Put the new registration stickers on, batteries back in the boat, added a second automatic sump pump and a transducer spring back bracket today.
  20. Quick video of Manasquan reservoir from the front gate to the boat ramp incase you have never been there, also shows condition of lake.https://youtu.be/lL8RHQI637Q?si=Wv2yHNhaYu7O3pY_
  21. Just called out of curiosity and they said there is a lot of ice on the water and no one will be permitted on the water until it’s all gone. I will probably still go pick up the ramp permit on Sunday and will grab a few pics.
  22. I will report back when I go to pick up my ramp permit, have to have positive thoughts.
