  1. Ufortunately, Bass Saturdays i canot tape because our cable company and ESPN signed a deal that put a recording restriction on that channel. Whenevber i try and tape it it says ESPN caannot allow the viewing of this show to outside users. O Well, I try and fish at least 2-3 days a week. tournament Schedule: 2 am: Wake up, make a whole bucketful of tea, dress, and recheck everything that i put in the suv, the night before. 2:45am: Read a fishing magazine, watch Fishing Shows 3:00am: Meet up with boater 4:30am:Luanch boat 5:30 Blast off 5:31-2:30: Catch Fish 2:31pm:Win Tournament ;D, hopefully
  2. I Use Zoom Chunks and any brand of crawdad type lure, I also use a Senko for swimming a jig. I gotta try that hula grub idea.
  3. I have seen people take a thin layer of plywood, lay it on the floor. then biuld a couple of braces. Then put a thick piece of plywood sitting directly on top of the whole boat and then screw them in to the braces and make a couple of hatches. then make holes in wood and tie, with a piece of rope, the deck to handles on the boat, set on a small chair and you will be set. a whole pro bass boat that cost 1/23000 of the price
  4. they seem to be more active on overcast days, wind, rain. rising water, morning, evening
  5. Find cover in the current and throw a jig in there and let it driftright past the cover. Also find dead water(No Current) and pitch and flip a senko.
  6. Neither. ESOX Rods!! Brush Hog or Sweet Beaver?
  7. I use pautzke's Bass Factor, its awesome. I gotta try that rag soaked in fish attractent in my teachers car!!!
  8. I love fishing like that!!! I have about 4 layers of clothing and a nice Gore- Tex rainsuit. There is Nothing like fishing in a hard rain and wind, and the cold. Especialy when going 60 miles an hour and the boat is flying over waves and water flying up in to your face.
  9. First, Johnsons are peices of junk, the powerheads always have trouble, If they are going to put on another powerhead it better not be a johnson made powerhead, If they are going to put a different companies powerhead on it, then i would just get the new powerhead, if they are going to put on another Johnson, then i would defenitly get a different baot witha yamaha or mercury. They are both durable, good motors
  10. I mainly use Clearwater custom tackle wacky stix which are $3-4 a pop, I only buy yamamoto's when they are on sale.
  11. Depends on year/make of motor, My 5 horse Tohatsu 4-stroke 2001 pushes my 12 foot aluminium v boat fully rigged with batteries, deck, storage, livewell etc. Converted it into a real bass boat rig last winter, it goes 15-20 mph,I expect you should go in between 5-10 mph, To maxamize your speed and performance: -New high quality spark plugs gapped to .3100 - Stab-il in gas, 10-30w oil if 4-stroke - yearly maintanence check -high quality prop - trim motor up an inch or so (experiment) -more weight in back since you cant get on plane with a 5 horse on a 14 foot boat. Thanks, Nick
  12. I would put myself as a 6, if i had a real bass boat i would be teeny bit better like a 6.3 . For everybody we can be 10 at times and we can all be 1 at times, thats how bass fishin is. I just need to learn more smallmouth fishing techniques and more finesse techniques, also learn to fish on big reseviors 3,000 acres plus, This summer i am going try and keep the "Bubba Bassin" to a small time segment on the water.
  13. I have seen one work on my friends boat and it was awesome, you can see everything from weeds to brush and the ledges are very clearly shown. Great for smallie fishing.
  14. I dont fish for smallies as much as largemouth, but here are some baits that have always worked for me: Drop Shot Leadhead jig with grub jerkbait
  15. 6 LBS. Texas Rigged ball breaker-Largemouth 5 1/2 LBS. hula Grub-Smallmouth Both fish caught in WA.
  16. Well, i would first buy a very high performance prop, the i would fiddle around with the tilt positions to get max speed, Last get a jackplate. Thos are all i can think of.
  17. I built one this winter, Low-Budget Hookers did it almost the same way i did mine, he will give you all you need to know on converting a boat.
  18. During The dog days of summer you can find small schools 4-6 fish, most are the same size so they could be anywhere from 1-5 pounds, bigger fish tend to stay alone.
  19. Welcome!!
  20. Just see if he can lower the price on the team stickers, $3 each, i dont have enough money to buy many more stickers. I have too much stuff that deserves to have an ESOX Rods Sticker on it.
  21. Where i live, We will have to go deeper than usual to find our summer fish and i dont fish a c-rig often and need to learn it a little better. If anybody has any tips they would be greatly appreciated.
  22. Does anybody have any tips on reading a depthfinder, this past week i have tried to learn more on how to use it. I still need some tips. on distinguishing structure from weeds etc. weedlines
