  1. So, the other week I was determined to try out this C rig. I didn’t land anything but pretty sure on one of my first casts, I had a catfish take everything. The question I had was about casting distance. Any tips or advice? I tried to dial brakes back a little with a roll cast and not blow up the reel.
  2. This is great news. Our grief support group was starting to get weird
  3. Are you guys throwing this on spinning or casting set ups?
  4. I’ve been thinking I need to get the Crig more into my lineup. Would 17lb Invizix work as a leader on 30/40lb 832?
  5. Both. As most have said, if it’s a quick fix, bank. If it’s my day off and I have the day to myself or we go on vacation, boat. It can be tough around here because most water is heavily tree lined or private property. If you can get to most bank spots on public access, they get pressured by everyone and their mother.
  6. I can relate to this. I am prone to cabin fever up here in the NE. The colder the day, the more I am scrolling the forums. I focus primarily on some similar techniques but ended up buying some goodies to start C-rigging. A few Buzzbaits and Rat-L-traps to try this year. I even bought a frog. I have officially reached desperation.
  7. Tombstone, High plains drifter, No country for old men, Django Unchained. The hateful 8.
  8. Has anyone in this thread had much luck for bass in there last year? I went with a guy who fishes a few weeknight events there and got pretty much skunked on the day. I had a chunky bluegill hit a whopper plopper and he caught a smallie on a drop shot. Granted it was the backend of summer. Most of my fishing will be in here as it is the closest, no HP restriction, lake around me.
  9. @WaskaCrank12 I do something similar. I haven’t gotten it down to a science of use. I know my go to presentations and when I need more. It’s the other things I want to use and experiment with that I forget I maybe grabbed at the local shop but already got through TW. It does seem like my soft plastics, chatterbaits and spinner baits are my vices. I see a lot of BR members have glorious crankbait collections. Lucky for me, I have a handful and suck with all of them so no need to collect them.
  10. I too store in our garage. There is a slight smell of fuel but it hasn’t ever come off as alarming. I do chalk some up to fueling from a 5Gal tank and the slight back fill around the fuel door. Not a bad trade off versus trailering the boat around the small ethanol free service station in town.
  11. I can verify the TW sale link is working. It consumed my Xmas gift card stash I had. Best part isn’t the sale, it’s getting a full box of new things without explaining why I’m buying more fishing stuff. Simply, I needed to use those gift cards.
  12. I have takenotice it’s still light until 5:30-5:40 at night. The biggest kick in the groin is the 16” of snow left on the ground. It will be a heat wave to see a day we reach freezing this week but supposed to see more snow on the mid-back end of the week. Hopefully the boat can get wet in early April
  13. It was fairly theraputic reading some guys lists on here. I’ve only gotten into bass fishing the last few years and already notice I’m a hoarder of sorts. Since we have over a foot of snow and haven’t seen 20° in over a week I put together an inventory sheet myself. My question to some of the mid range collectors like myself, how much do you take out with you for a day on the water? Also, what helps decide what you’re packing for any certain day? Do you pick differently if it’s a frequented body of water versus somewhere you have never been?
  14. Thank you for taking time to explain that. I have a Lews KVD finesse spinning rod that feels softer and I just chalked it up to being a cheaper/entry level rod.
  15. By a half a power higher, a medium is more like a medium heavy? I fish from the boat 80% of the time. I will take a MF spinning rod out if I only have an hour or so and throw a whacky or Trig around some edges.
  16. The MHMF and MF are St Croix Black Bass and the MHF is a St Croix Victory
  17. Would an 8.0:1 be too much reel for the MF set ups?
  18. Living 40 minutes from the Susky and never fishing it seems like a disservice from what I’m told. I’d say a goal this year is to get on at least twice. My main goal is to put the time in on my local lake and learn as much as possible without getting frustrated. Side goal is to get better at reading the Garmin versus just using it to check depths.
  19. I recently got into bass fishing the last two years and have moved into casting setups. I am looking for suggestions on how YOU would use my line up most efficiently (not spending most the day rerigging) I have a 7’6” MHMF, 7’1MF and 7’3” MHF that I got for Xmas. FWIW I’ve been mostly using chatterbaits, spinnerbait, whopper ploppers, T rigs and Rat L traps. I would like to start using Crigs, jerkbaits and buzzbaits this year also.
