Guys,even if you don't get one free it's "worth" buying one! I'm replacing my entire buzzbaits with just cavitron this winter.

I use the shimano clarus 7' heavy for jigs and fishing the slops.Haven't failed me yet and still going 2 years strong.

Maybe the fish simply moved or somewhere you haven't found? Been having the same problems this year,can't seem to find the pattern.I find a fish here and there,but nothing really worth bragging rights.

As long as it's "legal" I can't say i have a problem with it. It's illegal here to keep game fish as pets.That's all i know.

.....i brought some hooks and fishing line on sale just last week and the cash lady goes what are these for? I told her "i was trying to get my cat out of the tree...so i figured these hooks would do it." I had the guy behind me ROLLING laughing so hard. True story!

Mono for backing or even electrical tape works.If you don't back your braid it WILL slip sooner or later. I remember my first usuage and slippage when i was trying to reel in a 6" crappie but couldn't.I ended up pulling the line in by hand....I sure looked like an idiot! ;D

This is gonna be a replacement rod for now...i broke the tip off my good one. So i need a rod before the weekend to go fishing. It's pretty much a toss up between St. croix's triumph or shimano clarus ...they both run the same price. I just gotta figure out which one is the nicer rod.

That's what JJ said as well....I coulda swore i replied to this. ;D However that chart. color is working awesome in a river system i'm fishing.I'm getting completely opposite results now...if it ain't dipped the fish don't want it.

Fluorocarbon does stretch more than people are willing to admit. Fluorocarbon is much,much more stiffer and harder to control. IMO I went back to trilene XT and Big game line. I use big game for just about everything from jigs to T-rigs...that is the 15# test line.

Local walmarts are clearing out their fishing stuff.Got a bunch of gammy 4/0-5/0 hooks on sale(brought them all out... ;D),Some trilene XT 14#,canjun red cast line in 14# and some more trilene big game in 12#. Various lures are also on sale,but somebody else beat me to the good ones. You know fall is here soon once the local store chains start putting stuff on sale up here in the north.

I do the same thing sam does....been doing that for years.That's just what comes natural to me.
