  1. You gonna like that Cavitron buzz bait Might as well throw away all your buzzbaits....after you fish the Cavitron buzz bait you ain't gonna wanna throw any other brand.I learned the hard way today. The smallies here annihilated my white/chart color here today.I'm not sure why they even put a red hook on the dang thing....the red is completely gone... ;D now i need $30 to get about 5 more of those things....
  2. Me too,i'm curious to what might have set that off.It was one of the strangest thing i ever saw.It wasn't just bluegills,i know i saw some carps and a few smaller to medium size bass in the mix. I'll tell ya one thing though...fishing just sucked after that. Not a single bite.
  3. I was fishing longside the bank and across the little dam there is a park on the other side.Well at 11:30am about 50 yards by 20 yards wide an entire wave of every single fish came to surface as they acted like they were attacking top water baits. It was like thunder and every single fish in that 50 by 20 yard rectangle area just went frigging nuts! It lasted maybe 2-4 seconds...and just went dead calm!As it never even happened....I didn't see any floaters in the mayhem or anybody in that little area fishing either. what could it have been?
  4. Sweet video and fish!I see a double digit coming this year from you. What size slammer is that? Just curious because that thing looks big!
  5. Little Caesar's pizza....and some bud light to wash it down. Don't feel like cooking, just got back from a lake with my little 3 year old who caught his first fish(bluegill). Going tomorrow to my girl's aunt's house for the BBQ cookout. But first i'm going out in the morning to get some fishing time in.
  6. They look good,I've been a fan of their jigs since last year. However they don't work the greatest around very rocky lakes. I haven't checked their website out in a long time, but last i hear those tubes were coming out...don't remember seeing the creatures on the site.I might have to order me a pack sometimes.
  7. Few years back,Living in Dallas TX. they set up a raid road blocks around certain roads and if you had fireworks in your car heading into Dallas it was an automatic $2000 fine and your fireworks were confiscated.Even if you just brought them to bring out to where your other family was in the country(where fireworks were legal to shoot off) the cops didn't care to hear any stories. They caught my best friend one year and he told them they were going out to their uncle's farm and the cops told him you should have just dropped them off by his house before coming back into Dallas then.
  8. wow,he's lucky he didn't get charged with attempted murder on top of that cruelty to a child charge.
  9. The only thing that bugs me is that hook holder....Cut that thing off! I have a E21 edge rod which is very similar to the carrot stix and those hook holders on the rods suck. You will notice line like to jump around that hook holder. I've ask countless of others and the only rod seems to be the spinning ones that have that problem.Baitcasting rods do not have that problem.
  10. Seriously...it depends on how broke i am....I think i spent maybe $150 this month(june)...next month(july) i probably won't buy anything. Then Aug. which is the month of my birthday i know i can get by spending some money without my girl complaining. If i could i would spend an easy $2 G a month on tackle which is on my "wish list".
  11. 6 weeks give or take....Got my first jig fish in 2 weeks in practicing and working the heck out of it.6 weeks later i realize i'm more proficient with a jig than anything else and since then i alway have one tied on.I have Joe S. to thanks because he was really the one who got me hooked on jigs. I've even caught fish in 30 degrees temps and lakes half frozen....it's the only lure i really know how to work. It's a confidence thing for me i guess.
  12. Rods upright and reeling in backwards are probably the ones i see every single time i go fishing. Went out yesterday....and just about every single person out there was doing this to either a spinning reel or a spin casting reel.I ended up asking if it was hard to reel that way...the dude goes "Fishing requires a lot of skills, because my wrists and arms are killing me!" He asked me how i was casting and reeling so smoothly.I ended up telling him the "secret" of how to do it the correct way...Least he called it a "secret". :-? It took me a lot of will power not to laugh.....Because i remember we all gotta start and learn somehow.
  13. 6'8" MH for 1/4 oz and lower 7' H for 3/8oz and up I like using 14# test Trilene XT or 15# test Trilene big game
  14. My spinning combo weights less than my baitcasters,i favor the spinning combo right now....so it's light weight for me.
  15. This post made me miss muddy....His story had me laughing so hard i was in tears.
  16. I like mine. It's a real smooth reel. Can't compare it to the shimano sustain as i don't have one,but the tierra has definely beat every low end reel i have ever fished with. If you look hard enough that reel can be had at discount price.Sportsman warehouse was selling them under $100.
  17. Bet he won't do it again.....
  18. I'm laughing hard.....Bassn Blvd you need to get a video recorder set up...that would make it to american's most funniest videos.
  19. Try trilene XT in 14# test....This line is in my opinion one of the friendliest newbie using line for baitcasters.I still have this line on one of my baitcasters and still love it. Braid and fluorocarbon is a whole another ballpark of line on baitcasters. Requires a bit more experience, least on my part it did.
  20. I get off work @ 11pm....I'm not waking up again at 2-4 in the morning to go fishing. My body would give out if i did that.A few times i tried staying up all night to go fishing early morning.I end up finishing my day right before dinner...
  21. I've been looking for a scale for over a year now....I think i finally figured out which one i'm gonna go with now. I've been stalking this thread.... ;D
  22. I dead stick a lot in the summer time.Summer time is sometimes my best fishing days.Cast it out, reel in slack line, reach in my pocket, open a can of grizzy wintergreen dip, smack the can to get it packed tight, get a pinch, put it in my mouth, give a a few seconds and my first spit, then proceed to make my first movement of the bait with a long, long pause and BAM! Fish on! It's that easy sometimes.... ;D
  23. Very touching story. He's a true winner in every way.He beat the odd of "i can't do". I hope people take this for a true inspirational story for what it really is. He's a role model we really need in America.
  24. Nope i find myself going back to trilene XT... :-?
