  1. You know something....every time i skunk out there's a lady with her husband next to me. Then no matter where else i go that day i seem to have rotten luck. Lately it's been 1 every hour or 2,however last week of may and first week of june i was hammering smallmouths 3 per hour.
  2. Sometime during a crankbait's life it will probably get out of tune. This is where a crankbait runs left or right, rather than straight back to the boat. In doing so, the crankbait will no longer be reaching its maximum depth. To correct this problem, all the angler needs to do is take a small pair of needle-noise pliers and bend the small eye where the line is attached in the opposite direction from which it is running (assuming the angler is looking straight on from the front of the crankbait). Be gentle when performing this action; it only takes a little movement to correct the problem. Cast the lure out and repeat the process until the lure runs straight and true back to the boat.
  3. They put some up here not too long ago.Once i was coming up the intersection it turned yellow and i was in a semi tough decision because the city cops are known to ticket yellow light runners where if you stop you are gonna either be sliding through or if you can stop the car behind you will probably hit you.Remembering one guy at work telling me he got a ticket from those cameras for running through the light yellow to red.So i ended up slamming on my brakes and held on tight for the guy behind who almost hit me.He's cussing at me in his car and i'm sweating bullets over those dang cameras. From my point of view i don't see what's so safe about these cameras.
  4. I think the guy holding the sewing machine freaks me out even more....
  5. I've honestly never had problems. You do however have to watch when you tie that palomar knot and make sure it goes pass that gap.I pull tight and my knots don't seem to move after i do.I could see it having problems with thinner diameter lines.
  6. Had the same problem...
  7. here's another trick for trick worms(works best with zoom) Cut off 1/8 of an inch of the head of worm.get a white with black eyes crappie jig(1/8 oz) cut the bend hook part off and the eye of jig where you'd tie the line.Insert that jig into the head of trick worm only exposing the jig head. Now take a 3/0 offset worm hook and hook it in the middle and back through toward the head(about 3-4 inches from the head).Tex pose or bury hook just like you would T-rig a worm. And booya now you got a killer tricked out trick worm. 8-) It's called the bungee jumper rig
  8. I find this to be true,as i actually put an inline spinner on 2 weeks ago found some twisting taking place took the inline spinner back off and replaces with a tube and the twists and coils went away after maybe 10 casts at the most. This line has been impressing me every single time i fish with it.I'm using 6# ultra soft on my spinning rig and absolutely love it.
  9. Bad,bad idea....I'm no expert on swimbaits, but even that i wouldn't attempt to try from what i gathered from all the information here. What swimbaits are we talking about so we can get the idea of the weight on those...8'' & 10" swimbaits are a couple of ounces alone. What rod you trying to use?Is it a swimbait rod? From your post it doesn't sound like it is.My heavy rated rods only go up to 1 1/2 ounce anything heavier i'd be pushing my luck. From what i gathered most people like using 20lb mono or fluorocarbon line....if you are trying to cast a heavy weight using braided line which is much, much thinner than mono and fluorocarbon you need to up that braid pound and diameter greatly.
  10. That's probably one of the coolest you tube videos i have seen. Thanks for sharing that!
  11. I think hawgchaser is right on the money. It's what you are most comfortable with and can afford. My budget is anything within $150 or less.if i had a $300 rod or reel i'd baby it...like micro said...which would be no fun then. I still like to drool over the expensive stuff once in awhile.
  12. I just got bit by a tick about a week or two ago.Lucky i didn't get any disease though.

Dude you will not regret that buy.Gman's is awesome.I probably have a 3600 box filled alone just of gman's stuff. His jigs last a good while for me. Also look into basssnacks.com. That is from Joe S. another member on here and his products are just awesome. His trailers are the "only" trailers i used. When he says they are super soft he ain't kidding!.
  16. 6'6'' abu garica super 7 MH rod $25 @ walmart....I abused the heck out of this rod when i started fishing again. It held it's own with all the abused it took. Now it's put aside and pretty much retired.
  17. I do it and it doesn't seem to affect it.I use berkley so putting it back in the bag seems to put a little scent back on it. However i have also been putting them back in a plano box prerigged for a quick pull out and retie on.
  18. Usually with a 1/8-1/4 oz jig that enters the tube with hook exposed. There ain't much out there as far as these kind of jigs go...almost as it's sort of a limited supply kinda thing. I ended up getting yamatomo jighead hooks to hold me over for now...will look into the others mentioned. Thanks guys.
  19. Smallmouths....I like fishing for both but if given a choice between one over the other i'll take the smallmouths.
  20. Lost a lunker at newburgh lake today.Sent you a PM earlier.
  21. Looking for some good jigs for my tubes.I need some 1/4 oz(preferring 1/8 oz as well) tube jigs with strong hooks. I had some eagle claws i brought awhile back and these hooks bend when snagged or fighting a good size fish.I'm about to toss these hooks soon.
  22. I love the heat...I don't know why...but fishing for me on hot days has always been good. Been in the 80's-90's here. With a few thunderstorms rolling in at night.
  23. I like playing with my jigs at home. 8-) ;D
  24. Because some of those baits are hard to find. :-/ Often times i will say what bait i'm using, just not what brand or color. Also,i think guys are worried if they say something and another angler who keeps everything he catches knows his secrets. That's my big thing.I've actually had one person come up to me and go "thanks me and by buddy hammered those bass around 30 or so on so and so lure and kept every single one.there's a 5 bass limit here. That made me Mad as heck.
  25. I'll drink to that!
