VERY broad question. There is not one "speed" to fish soft plastics. Completely dependant on conditions, personal preferences, type of soft plastic bait, etc...

I agree with that. Gerald Swindle once said that he mainly focuses on finding the fish, once he finds them he'll catch them with a coat hanger if he has to.

We (Chicagoland) were lucky. We were spared, for the most part, of the snow. They are calling for a high in the 50's for every day in the week after Monday

I totaly agree, I made a post about that show a long time ago on this thread. I absolutely hate it.

I try to use old school and new school techniques, like I use t- rigged soft plastics a lot, but I also use a d-shot a lot.

The coaches, or teachers who like to fish, would provide most of that stuff. Also, boat and other sponsorship will be key. Like I said before sponsorship, or lack there of, is the only thing left that stands in the way of this becoming a reality.

I only use scents when fishing very slowly or when I want the fish to not spit the lure quickly. I use Mega Strike.

The tour needs to get some security.

I would go with fluoro as long as there is not super heavy cover. I really like Trilene.

It does not matter a whole lot, and the line size is pretty much completely dependent on where you fish. Water clarity, density of cover, size of fish, etc...

1. What hooks are you using that the red comes off easy??? 2. What extra cost? A pack of red hooks in any style will cost the same as non red hooks, and bleeding baits cost the same. 3. Red hooks will not compensate for being bad at fishing, they will just make the fish swallow the lure more and bite harder. You are a better fisherman than your friend and that is why you outfish him.

All Chatterbaits are is spinnerbait substitutes.
