crayfish imitations
I like the *** and beaver style bait that *** makes. The *** is my #1 bait, but sometimes they will bite the beaver and not the ***. GYCB Flappin Hogs are good as well, but considerably more expensive.

Who else does this?
D, Imo, the plastic bottle doesn't make it taste nasty. In fact I ran out and hour or two ago and found some spanish peanuts and a coke. It was a plastic bottle b/c nobody had glass and it still tasted fine. It is better in a bottle though, but then again so is regular coke.

Choke Canyon Fishing
Never been, but I hope to make it one day. Hope I catch one just like that lake record. Jbguide, hurry and make 10 posts so we can see that pig.

Craziest thing happened to me while fishing today.
I've seen it on multiple hook lures, but wouldn't of thought it to be possible on a single hook. Especially fish of that size. I don't doubt your story though.

I like the Curado better in black
I prefer the black as well. The black spool is pretty cool.

Not many c-stores have them, but when you can find the spanish peanuts, ummm boy. Spanish peanuts in coke is some good stuff.

Fishing jerks
Exist, Just so you know before you start bashing an entire race of people in the future the use of hand lines is permitted in your state(3 max). There is also a year round season for sunfish with no size mimimum and 25 per person. So unless the "sweethearts" you mentioned left with 76 fish that day or were fishing with 10 hand lines they broke no laws assuming they had a license. I guess they are easier to blame than you thought. http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/pdf/2009/digfsh09-regs.pdf

Fishing jerks
BassmanDan, Don't worry about it, but I think its fairly likely someone besides immigrants contributed to the problem.

Fishing jerks
I guess I need to move to wherever you are from since white folk don't break the law there, and you can tell if someone is an immigrant by a glance. If you actually walked up to these folks and asked to see there green cards or explained why what they were doing is harmful then I take it back.

How Important is Paint and Detail to the Bass?
Maybe you should of tried putting jigs there. You are much braver in your PM's.

How Important is Paint and Detail to the Bass?
I think that having the right color is important. I'm pretty sure the detail doesn't matter at all as long it is up to minimum standards. 95+% of bait companies today produce what I would call mimimum acceptable detail. In addition, color is probably overrated, but you do need to be able to understand which colors show up the best in clear, stained and muddy water. I like expensive baits, but I also fish some that are mid level and bottom level as far as pricing. Heres the thing I think you miss in the expensive bait argument, Muddy. Sometimes its not about the detail paint or how much you paid. Its about having something different. Every Tom, Dick and Harry out there is throwing a Bill Lewis Rattle Trap. On our super pressured lakes here in TX sometimes the difference between a few fish and a lot is just throwing something a little different. I honestly believe that on Lake Fork when the trap bite is on and everbody is throwing traps the guys that CAN fish and is throwing an Xcalibur trap is going to outfish the guy that CAN fish and is throwing a Lewis trap. I emphasize can b/c the fisherman is more important than the bait. Sometimes, or a lot, on pressured lakes its about being different whether that be action, sound, vibration or profile. Imo, it is very difficult to find a lot of differences in the lower end of the bait market. Plus, even when you can find some differences on the low end of the market the low price point means more people are probably fishing that bait, and if you are as well you are really not presenting something that unique.

lizards vs. brush hogs
I'm not a big lizard guy, but there would be no way you are prying my bush bugs from me.

60,70,80 -0 BBall press?
HaHa....I've been thinking the whole time how the heck did I get involved in a Girls High School baketball conversation. When my wife was pregnant I told her if she had a girl the baby wasn't allowed within 500 feet of a basketball b/c I wasn't watching girls basketball for the next 15 years of my life. Sorry to everyone that has girls, no offense at all meant. Muddy, even the "elite" programs you mentioned are impossible for me to watch. I honestly believe that the texas 3A champion would beat any of the teams you mentioned.

LaserLure
Wow....after Senko's endorsement I'm convinced these aren't a gimmick, but I can't believe they aren't. I would of never bought into it without him stepping up.

Now these are nice.
^^^^Would to me as well. I still have your address from the Christmas exchange. I will send you a couple. I'm interested to hear what you think. What color patterns would you like to try?

Strike King's new Sexy Sunfish
Thats kind of my point right there. Nothing really new or earth shattering about the colors, but they do have a great name for marketing purposes. I'm sure they will load the boat for you, and I bet I end up with a few for myself.
-
Now these are nice.
They are good baits. I have many, but I must admit for this price range I actually prefer Academy's H2O brand by quite a bit. H2O are a good bit cheaper as well. Nothing wrong with the Strike Kings though. They will catch you a mess of fish.

60,70,80 -0 BBall press?
Davis, That is cool that you played Oak Hill. That had to be a lot of fun. My senior year I played against Leonard Davis, Cowboys offensive lineman, in the state tournament. Talk about a big dude. To your point. Getting beat 120-60 is not near the same as 100-0. In fact I'm very suprised ya'll managed 60. You must of had a pretty good public school program. If any team has 50 or more while the opponet has 0 you should not be pressing. I really thing the issue is the 0 points. You lost to Oak Hill by 60. I don't think this would be a story if the final score was 100-40.

60,70,80 -0 BBall press?
I will admit that there is a thin line between kicking someone when they are down and not putting up an honest effort, which is just as embarassing as a butt beating, and it starts to gray pretty heavily at the not stealing the ball arguement.

60,70,80 -0 BBall press?
Bizz, I see your point in a round about way, and not under any circumstance do I think they should of let the other team score. The winning team, with a 50 point lead, could of played tough heads up pressure defense without actually going for a steal. The press was a much bigger deal, but I think the right thing to do was to stop stealing the ball. Especially if some of the steals were coming from help defenders when the ball handler turned their back.
-
60,70,80 -0 BBall press?
Bizz, They should of stopped stealing, but I agree with you on the 3 pointers. I bet it would of been worse if they weren't jacking those 3's. I guarantee a bunch of high school girls are going to make a lower % of 3's than lay-ups. In the game I mentioned earlier where we stomped a team pretty bad I remember thinking no 3's thats dumb. Our coach was trying to do the right thing, but he turned the game into a lay up drill.
-
60,70,80 -0 BBall press?
We beat a team 108-8 once in junior high. At half the coach instructed us not to press and no steals. No 3's at the end of the third.
-
60,70,80 -0 BBall press?
I think it was a very poor decision. Its also easy to get caught up in the moment. Especially for the fans, but the coach should have realized what was going on.
