I do catch fish on them. I think they really excell on presured waters. They cost just enough that most folks don't fish them so it gives the fish something just a little different. If you are good trap fisherman I bet you end up happy.

It does seem that the show has the worst luck.

if your buying decisions is being effected at all b/c of the movie recorder I would drop down and save money. I've heard countless people say, regardless of brand, that the movie recorder function is worthless.

Lil Wayne is great when I want to stick a steak knife in my ear. Accomplishes the exact same thing with half the permanent damage.

Someone makes them for Academy. The big rumor seems to be Lucky Craft. I kind of doubt it. I think they are a great cheap bait so everyone that fishes them wants it to be made by Lucky Craft. They are great baits though. Hands down the best value out there. I love their square bill cranks.

The Natural, Thats what I can't believe from my experience(and I stress that). From the day I got my first SX I took about 20 minutes to find where it worked for me and set everyone since up the same way and have never looked back. I don't consider myself an expert and had no problem mastering these reels. Therefore, I'm preplexed when people more experienced than I have trouble.

Buy your Dad the book. It will be one of the best gifts he has ever recieved.

So lame. I saw the mini series before ever reading the book and loved it. My wife bought me the mini series b/c of how much I loved the book and I couldn't wait to watch it. Once I started watching it I made it about 30 min. Granted part of the reason I couldn't watch was b/c the mini series was "dated" at that point, but the bigger reason was the book is 400 times better. McMurtry does the best job ever of character development in this book. I don't care if you've seen the mini series and never been within 400 yards of a cow or horse you can't read this book and not be a fan. You can't read it without wishing you were half as cool as Capt. Gus McCrae. Read it, and if you can't appreciate it I will refund whatever you paid for it buy you the Lucky Craft of your choice and the next book you want to read under 45 bucks. It was a freaking western that won the Pulitzer Prize. I'm not saying a Pulitzer is the holy grale, but those folks are pretty big elitists that just don't going handing them out to weterns. Actually its a shame to call this book a western. It is much more than that.

I demand you read Lonesome Dove. Noway you won't like it.

The toothpick is a great idea. Especially when fishing vegetation, and the natural drag from the grass would be pushing the bait down. Unfortuantely b/c om my laziness I will never use it. The only reason I convinced myself to reitie after every fish was to improve my speed knot tying skills. That and I don't really catch/fish hollow belly swimbaits to matter.

Again guys I'm amazed. From the day that I started fishing my SX or STX I've set the brake where I could cast effciently. By effciently I mean 10-20 yards further than my Curado's and haven't touched them since. I respect RW and haved fished with The Natural and would consder both better than me, but can't figure out how they have trouble from these reels. I just don't understand how some guys can have such problems and it be just like anyother reel to others.
