  1. Rusty, Thank you kindly for the offer but I'd already ordered a bunch more of the 3700's. For now I'm good!
  2. Wow! Some of you bass heads have a real problem!
  3. Yep, me too. My hands much prefer the TD-Z/Fuego frame vs the Alphas/Sol.
  4. The Tatula will cast anything the Viento can and probably better. The rod and line used have to factor into this too, but I can promise the Tatula will cast as well and likely better than a Viento on any given rod, all things being equal. Mine do as well as my modified Fuego's and the Viento was no better than a stock Fuego at best.
  5. Texas rig will never die where the green grass grows! I've been experimenting with jika rig but it could NEVER stand in place of the texas rig where I live.
  6. I'm one who much prefers the free floating design Daiwa carried for many years in all it's available models and still does in some higher end models. I lament it's absence in the Tatula series and had my concerns initially but those concerns have proven, at this point, invalid. I like the Tatula's very much! I've got 3 original Tatula's and 2 CT's now and I've given 2 of those original Tat's a good beating over the last couple years and they've withstood it all in typical Daiwa fashion. One of the things I like best about these reels is I've put not a penny into them in mods/upgrades which is not my typical M.O. I like to modify my reels, Tatula's don't need it! These are kick ass performers in stock condition that get even better over time. Truly an excellent value from Daiwa in my opinion! Looking forward to the new Tat SV that's coming out soon. Definitely going to grab one of those for my collection!
  7. Naw, I just can't agree with that. Nope There's a whole lot of guys that are extremely happy with their "bricks" because the performance, value and work ethic are there. The Tatula series ain't no d**n show pony. Certainly not inferior to other brands in that segment and there's a whole lot of them in use out there for good reason. So, they may be a bit heavier but that's not a deal breaker for most of us.
  8. Mag Z has centrifugal component in it's dynamic rotor. Awesome braking system!
  9. Thank you for the replies guys! I've just got so much (hesitant to use the term "too much") stuff that I need to figure out a better system than trying to pack it all into the boat. I rotate rods/reels when needed so I'm going to do the same with tackle. Last year on my final day out i unloaded everything I didn't need for the day and the boat picked up a few mph because of it. Yep....buying more boxes for sure, all the old ones are getting replaced with newer, better, improved designs.
  10. I've no problem throwing brass bullets, been doing it for years but where lead is concerned...I guess I'll just be an outlaw of sorts.
  11. Just bought a pair of these Plano Elite series crankbait boxes in attempt to unclutter my shallows and mids. Wow! Very nice vs standard 3700 boxes and worth every penny for me. Now I'm going to get one for the bigger deep divers and be done with it. Problem is they hold so many baits so my original goal of reducing number of lures I'm carrying isn't working out, but definitely more organized. So here's where ya'll can help me out...looking for ideas for jerkbaits, topwaters and other treble hook lures as well. If you have any unique storage practices I'm listening! I've got quite a few jerkbaits so it'll end up being 2 boxes 1 up to 1/2 oz and the other over 1/2 oz.
  12. I had that exact rod in my hands last week. Some of the other St. Croix rods on that rack were marked 30% off and if this one had been it would have come home with me... and still might in a couple weeks. I still like pistol grips and have intentions of another 6' MH custom build. Can't beat them when beating the bank on lakes with natural shorelines/cover.
  13. Producto 6" Tournament worm in bubblegum, weightless in dirty water.
  14. My "norms" are 7' but I also employ a 6'6" just as A-Jay does.
  15. Got 3 of those yet myself, I'm going to put my old Daiwa PL-100 back on the LR15 5'6" M/F pistol grip and catch a few fish on that old combo this year.
  16. LOL...that's good! Very astute humor.
  17. (following response not directed at you riverbasser) LOL... I agree that is funny! Well, by some peoples standards he's done right by using the search feature, obviously. This is what that brings us. I've said that for many years now and here's proof. Blow all the dust away and if their question is answered they still might want to add their opinion, so they do and voila, ancient archived secrets! "Use the search, this question has been beat to death here", "Use the search, this has been discussed many times!", "Use the search blah blah blah"...so this here is what you get. Be careful what you ask for!
  18. Yep...gotta have 90mm minimum. Don't care if it's straight, swept, Carbon or Aluminum, has to be 90mm! I've got some Hawg Tech handles and prefer the 90mm straights but the 94mm are nice too.
  19. Silver, Gold, Clown, Tennessee Shad, Silver/Blue.
  20. Who cares! To "debate" this is what makes no sense!
  21. Really? So I'm not the only Marty fan here? Love his work! One of his 3-5 ft coffin bills is possibly the most productive shallow crank I've ever owned.
  22. I've had mine for 3 yrs now, no breaks yet. One of them has been used a lot too.
  23. I got mine from Real Deal Custom and Siebert may have them too.
