  1. Just bought another Avid 3 days ago. Didn't need it but it was 30% off so I couldn't just leave it there! Next rod is likely to be a 2 pc spinning for use in my float tube. The updated Cabela's Fish Eagle will get the nod here. Probably 7' M or MH...haven't decided yet. Great rod for $70!!
  2. Ditto. Hate 'em!
  3. I don't have the time, I have Siebert or Real Deal Custom make them for me.
  4. I use Kalins 5" grubs more than anything else. Also Chigger craws and smaller swim baits of various brands but usually the Kalin's get the call.
  5. Shhhh....dadgumit! Remember the Mann's Limit Finder, with the molded in kink?
  6. I've been using Daiwa Exceler's or Cabela's Tournament ZX and they work great for me. I haven't paid more than $70 and got most on sale for $50.
  7. Not on any list of mine at all. I'm right there with ya in the bold above!
  8. My favorite as well. I would also prefer standard fast over mod actions. Not a fan of the mods.
  9. Same here, short and simple answer.
  10. Went and had a look. I'm never surprised by "unexpected's" up front but there sure is a passel of very good hooks getting cut!
  11. Is he with Lew's now?
  12. For many many years it has been a Producto 4" Tournament Worm on a 1/8 oz Charlie Brewer Pro Series Snagless Slider. Last couple years I started experimenting with drop-shotting 3" Slug Go's and other small minnow imitators and it's working real well.
  13. I've put 17lb XT on a TD-Z w/1016 spool and was throwing jigs with it. I'm not a distance caster but there was plenty of line for me
  14. That's very likely because it's so cheap. Nothing wrong with that. I'd use it myself but my experience is that Big Game is more stretchy than XT and XT is relatively cheap too. In any case, one can find pretty good value in Berkley mono's.
  15. Welcome back!
  16. XT has long been my favorite. Don't feel the need to change to something else.
  17. Oh yeah...I have a few of those! Actually, a pretty good pile of them
  18. Don't try that! Get the spool pin tool!
  19. So do snapping turtles. I've seen them many times lying in wait in the shallows for them to pass overhead. Never actually saw them take one but I know darn well what they were doing there.
  20. My favorite is the Producto Crawdad. Favorite color is the H12 (Junebug/Blue Glitter)
  21. I'll end up with a Tat SV at some point too
  22. That's going to be awesome! New opportunities await!
