  1. 42mm handle?? That can't be right! Must be only half.
  2. I agree with this. I do enjoy the jerkbait or shallow crankin' bite when they are on them.
  3. I live in MN. That spool I found in my garage endured temp extremes from -30 to 100 +/- for many years. Was nothing wrong with that line at all. I used it for 2 seasons on several of my reels.
  4. Why are you not asking your neighbor for his advice/opinion??
  5. I like it and he's pretty darn good at it!
  6. He highly recommends (It's a Shimano, JDM at that!). He wouldn't have a reel he doesn't recommend.
  7. I knew where you were coming from, and I agree with you. Every reel in my herd is tweaked and tuned to some degree except my Tatula's. My T3's never made it to a reel seat without modification, it happens and sometimes IS necessary.
  8. In this case, I disagree. I have "tinkered" my fair share of reels and all I did to my Tatula's was flush out the spool bearings and oiled them. Tatula's work great right out of the box, as is, in factory trim! ANY reel works good for flipping. In that technique all the reel does is hold line. Pitching is a different deal though...
  9. I found a brand new 1000 yard spool of Trilene XT in my garage that was, at the time, at least 12 yrs old. I figured I'd at least try it before throwing it away. Glad I did, was absolutely nothing wrong with it and never had a problem.
  10. My BFS custom is built on the St Croix 3S63MLXF. Works fantastic
  11. Well, God Bless their every effort! Love the St. Croix/Daiwa connection!
  12. When were they with Shimano?
  13. I think you could do a lot more with the M/Fast. Including crankbaits.
  14. This is the way I'd go. The PQ description says nothing about the drag material and the Carbonlite has a 6 disc carbon fiber drag and that one thing alone would almost be worth the extra $20 to me. I would certainly find another $20 if I had to! What would keep me away from these reels is the dual braking system. Not a fan. Right now Cabela's has the Arachnid (Daiwa Tatula Type R) on sale for $110. That's cheaper than I've seen the Type R's on ebay! THAT is a steal!
  15. No fishing related gifts. Got a great Coca-Cola holiday scene(polar bear) stocking cap, a board game called Code my daughter and I used play together when she was young so we can do that together again. I was hoping for some nice big candles but not this year. I like burning candles at night while I watch TV or read.
  16. How much do they go for on sale?
  17. Jeff H replied to Jeff H's topic in Fishing Tackle
    Great info!
  18. I hope all is going well with Tommy!
  19. Too much bother, they do a better job helping to grow vegetables in the garden! Freakin' gators! If it's one thing I can't stand...
  20. I don't shore/bank fish much but I do a little bit of wading. Never more than 1 rod with me. In the boat it's whole different deal though
  21. Happy Birthday Catt!
  22. If that were intended I think it failed. I don't know anybody who bought a reel based on it having a swept handle.
  23. Rapala Husky Jerk 12 Rapala X-Rap 10 Lucky Craft Pointer 100 Rapala Shadow Rap and Shadow Rap Shad are coming on strong for me as I learn where they fit in best. This list could get jumbled up by next year as I'll be trying several new (to me) brands/models next season.
  24. Good choice! You'll be very happy with the 2500 RG-AB.
  25. Producto Tournament grub on Gopher Mushroom head Owner Deep Throat Series 4" Berkley Power Minnow on same head as above Mr Twister Silver Shiner Sassy Grub on same head as above.
