  1. So, you've fished all the Cabela's rods?
  2. Nice Hawkeye Bass!
  3. Tackle Warehouse might have the 8540. If you use heavier wire hooks the bait might sink rather than slow rise.

    Did you mean annihilate?
  5. You know how I deal with this?? I just don't post pictures of anything
  6. That's a nice one!! I went to Chisago today. Fished 7 1/2 hrs, most of it in the rain. Caught 10 and lost/missed that many more. Worst day I've had this year for numbers but it was still a good time. All that beautiful flooded brush ain't worth a d**n though....yet. All my fish come from 8-11 fow on Producto worms...except one jig fish up shallow. Lots of light biters, really had to pay attention!
  7. It's not you. It's this crazy inconsistent weather.
  8. I do not care for the feel of neutral or tip light balance in my rods. Prefer slight tip heavy. Also, adding ballast to rear to balance is an extreme no-go for me! That just feels horrible. Have not bought a rod in a long time that the balance was so bad on it required attention
  9. Shimano Spirex is tough as they come! Always liked that quick fire trigger!
  10. 8540 is their recommended replacement for the Shadow Raps. I read this wrong...was thinking Shadow Rap so my statement is wrong. 9651 is their short shank replacement. I think the originals might be the 9650.
  11. No knot failure. My knots don't slip down the wire. I HAVE had it happen(very rare), but a new knot always remedies it. Here's my guess....lots of us using different knots are not having this issue so maybe you need to get your knot tighter. Beyond that, I don't know what to tell you.
  12. I use Trilene knot or Palomar, no slippage with either.
  13. 7's are fast enough for me. I've no need or desire for anything faster. If I'm losing out, so be it.
  14. I haven't seen it but THAT doesn't surprise me in the least! When he's on it, he's hard to beat.
  15. http://www.realdealtungsten.com/ http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/ I have used them both and will in the future too.
  16. I know this one...I have maybe 2 or 3 left and they are quite old so probably should get me some more. Oldham's Screw-Lock. Proper weed guard angle makes these excellent heavy cover choice!
  17. For me it depends what I'm getting into but it's rare I won't start with a jig/craw. other choices are RI sweet beaver or Lunker City Ozmo, 5" tubes or Producto 6" Tournament Worm.
  18. I don't do this but I seldom have any pressure on mine to begin with. More importantly, congratulations on the Fuego!!
  19. There can only be one best reel. Kickerfish1 will tell you it's a Daiwa and I will agree. ?
  20. After the Top 100 here in 95 Minnetonka made this list several times too. Was never #1 but top 10 I believe.
  21. My current biggest gripe is guys who fish from the docks at busy public access sites. I'm not talking about the guys who may make a few casts and leave, but the clowns who show up with chair, tackle box, rods and cooler and just get right in the way of people launching and loading their boats. They are not public fishing piers, they are there for the boaters use. Approaching any stranger and attempting to educate them in proper practice is usually a BAD idea these days.
  22. I caught a whole bunch of bass one day. For me this would be considered a strange catch ?
  23. So, here's what I need to know...what brand is your 2lb line and I'm assuming it's mono??
  24. That was the Prodigy A. Then there was the Prodigy B, which was a branded Aggrest.
  25. Lol...a mutant freak could be the answer.
