  1. Yeah, but....on any given lake you can count on 90% of the jigs being thrown to be your favorite color. Black and Blue is big everywhere you go. What I can't figure out about jig color is I always hear brown/orange come up, but I have NEVER been able get a bite on that, and I'm talking 20+ years of never. Every time the fish I do get, blow parts in the livewell there is always orange present yet I can never get 'em with orange involved. Also, can't fish red, gators(Pike) seem to love red and I hate gators.
  2. So, like the Revo inshore extended handle would/might fit on my TD-A HST153?? That is something I might like, slightly longer throw in the handle.
  3. Black w/green flake and dark olive green Black and Blue pumpkin w/green flake and black Jet Black Plum camo
  4. I don't own that model, but I've checked them out. Your rod will work just fine for your intents, as well as jigs.
  5. Dunno about you, but the first Mann's product I ever used was the "Jelly Worm". Augertail come along later if I recall correctly. The Jelly was the first worm I ever used as a kid. They came 5 to a pack as I remember.
  6. When I had Reel Mech service my reels I had him throw some of his oil on the bill when he sent them back. Seems like good stuff to me.
  7. Those actually came out first in the 80's. I bought one, never caught one single fish on it. They don't even deserve mention in this thread. Completely worthless. Why they brought them back I'll never understand. For me....I've never done well with buzzbaits. Muddy, your "hardware store" comment was hilarious. ;D
  8. Same here. This is the group I fall into.
  9. Producto and Lunker City are 2 of my favorites not listed. I depend a whole lot on Berkley Original Powerworms also.
  10. All I use is Berkley XT. I use 6lb on ALL my spinning rigs and 10,14 and 17 on my baitcasters. It's likely I will never switch, there is nothing tougher or more abrasion resistant out there in mono. I may try Maxx this year but I doubt I'll switch.
  11. I don't have a definite favorite, but if pressed to choose just one I'll stand in the Daiwa corner.
  12. Right now my favorite "factory built" rods are Shimano Crucials. Great rod for the price in my opinion, and many models to choose from.
  13. That's a great line to use after you've boated the "second" double-digit bass during the same day!! Roger We don't have DD's up here. I usually use it after I get several fish. It just came out one day and it seemed to amuse my 6yr old son so it has kind of stuck now.
  14. Mine comes from Jim Carrey in the movie "The Mask". "Somebody stop me!"
  15. How long? Do you want 6' or 6'6"? If you want something "all around" and don't like them much longer than you are tall....I'd find something in 6' MH.
  16. Looks like the TD-Pro has 3 more bearings and costs $50 more. Thats all I can make of it from reading about the two of them.
  17. I honestly didn't know about it a week ago. Who has to wait for a Daiwa to prove itself?? Thats crazy talk if you ask me. Daiwa builds good stuff.
  18. For me it's the lack of aluminum frame. The reels I've had in the past with graphite/poly frames have never lasted long for me, no matter the brand. This is why I would consider the Exceler instead. A aluminum framed reel, magforce Z, swept handle, under 9 oz with 8 bearings and Daiwa quality for only $70?? I can't figure out why it is so cheap? I need to look at one I guess.
  19. They sound as if they should be decent. I think Tin has one, ask him if he doesn't find this thread. You might also consider the Daiwa Exceler. A very well appointed reel for $70!
  20. Hey, who would have ever guessed a Shimano (thats japanese for "reel with a Halo") would come out of the box grinding? Bummer :-/, but it does happen I guess.
  21. Jeff H replied to bj64m's topic in Fishing Tackle
Jerk bait for me. I don't bother bass on beds, I'll look elsewhere for my fish.
  22. I use a Shimano Crucial CRCX66M (M/X-Fast) Usually I'm throwing 3/8 oz, not often I use 1/2 oz traps.
  23. I agree 100%. I have the 07 model Supertuned and the new HSTA is noticeably smoother and all around better. Heckuva deal for $160.
  24. I'm not taking sides, I use both and like both equally. Daiwa has some really great reels.
