Revo Premier
Don't own one, but have handled them a few times. The weight, compared to my SX (or any other reel I own), blows my mind. I'm hoping I'll own one by next spring.

Shimano Cumara
I was at the local Cabela's tonight. They have about every Shimano rod except the Cumara's. I'm just going to wait until next spring. I want the 6'8" MH/Xtra Fast casting. Actually, I don't want anything over 6'6" but we'll see how hard my arm gets twisted. I did find a 7'2" to look at but that is way longer then I want. Nice stick though!! Al Lindner has been using them too.

New rod, great fishing...
Reel Mech is building my new spiral wrapped pitchin' stick for me. I can't wait to try it out, but that won't be until next May. I also have the arthritis problems in my hands and wrists. The greatest challenge for me is pitchin' all day. That is hard work for the wrist and I can only do it for a few hours before I have to take a break from the pain. I have found that using shorter, lighter rods and smaller profile reels is a MAJOR help in my fishing. This is why I started buying more expensive rods (Shimano Crucials have become my favorite) and smaller reels (love them Revo's now). Lightweight reels would be nice but I'm not about to update my whole line up to those expensive reels just yet. I may get a Revo Premier and give it a try next year and see how much difference it makes. Anyway, this is the reason I won't fish a rod longer then 6'6" now. Shorter, lighter rods with smaller reels definitely help if you have the arthritis issue. My new 6'6" pitchin' stick will also be better balanced and that alone will be something I'll have to get used to. If it helps me last the full day, then it will be worth it no matter what adjustments I have to make in my presentation.

Recoil Guides and Braided Line
whoa!! THAT is interesting. Not really surprising to me but very interesting.

Good all around rod for less than 100$$???
Shimano Compre casting $89.00 CPC66MHB 6'6" Medium Heavy Fast Shimano Compre Spinning... CPS66MHB 6'6" Medium Heavy Fast For $90 these are nice sticks. Fairly light, very sensitive and good looking rods with decent components. Limited lifetime warranty is a nice touch. I have a Compre CPS X63MB 6'3" Medium/X-Fast spinning and this power/action does not come close to being acceptable as an "all arounder". It is a true "sissy" stick that I will use for Finesse applications only. If you want "all arounder" from the Compre lineup, you need MH/F.

How often do you upgrade or buy new rods and reel?
I thought you were a Crucial guy, Catt?

How often do you upgrade or buy new rods and reel?
Well....it's dying anyway so we may as well gut it out. 8-)

How often do you upgrade or buy new rods and reel?
I did some upgrading in 07, prior to that....95 or 96. I upgrade when I feel I need to, but I don't feel the need to upgrade every time something better shows up. I have 5 Shimano reels that I bought around 95-96 that I still use. My TD-1's that I bought around that same period are getting retired and replaced with Revo's. I hope these Revo's hold up as well as my Daiwa's and Shimano's because I REALLY like them so far. They are the smoothest, best casting and retrieving reels out of the box that I have ever had. The only thing that would make them better is....lighter weight ala Premier. I can agree with what you are doing and why. I am still toying with the idea of a Premier and may get one before Spring, but it will only be one and it will be the last casting reel I buy for a long time. It's time for a new boat now instead!

Cabelas Prodigy
A lot of reels are "ALMOST as smooth as the revo"...close, BUT....no cigar!

revo premiere.
6.35 oz. Pretty light!! I almost bought one but decided to wait. I will be watching for owner reviews on this site and if they hold up well I'll get one next fall. Right now I need one new spinning reel instead.

kb and reeds st.croix rods
Can't beat that!!

kb and reeds st.croix rods
Should be able to verify by the package weight if it was weighed before shipping. Hope they don't give you any grief about this.

No love for left-handed baitcasters?
I wish I could do it. I've tried and I can't get used to it. My spinning reels, I crank left handed but with the baitcasters I do the switch. I tried it years ago, because I really wanted to be able to pitch and not switch hands but I just couldn't get used to it. I'm almost tempted to give it another shot but I can't see why I'd take to it now. I think it is an advantage if you can make it work.

Something different is always fun, keeps things interesting. 8-)

Shimano Crucial Drop Shot Rod
I think you are going to be a little bit surprised if you have not fished a Crucial before.
-
Heck Freezes Over
I'm curious why YOU have picked the Shimano DHSV over the Revo Inshore? Don't get me wrong, I think this is great... now I am not the only 2-timing beotch on this board ;D

Heck Freezes Over
Ahh sheeeeit!! There goes the neighborhood : BTW, set your Revo next to your Curado and you'll see one of them have a heart attack!

Avid 7ft. MF?
They will never run out of rods. If you fish around any heavy cover, I would go with nothing less then MH/F. Jigs on M power rods don't make sense to me at all, maybe M/XF with jigs 3/8oz and under might be ok.

Least Favorite Fish to Catch?
Say what? If they got to be 10 lbs you'd probably never land one!! I hate "Gators" (northern pike and musky). Slimy stinkin' bags of bones that snap off too many baits with those teeth. I don't mind the battle but I hate the fish. I just pull my hooks out of them without brining their foul, stinkin', slimy bodies in my boat.

GL2 vs GL3
I made the mistake of buying a GL3 once. :-[ It is the most "out of proportion" rod I currently own. It's decent, but it is just like flechero says....there are better rods for that price range. My Shimano Crucials are much better rods in my opinion.

Problem with Revo S
LOL...you guys are hilarious. : So far I'm really happy with my Revo's BUT....I don't own a "S". All 3 of mine are mag brakes.

Fenwick HMG or Shimano Crucial?
Go with the Shimano
