  1. I completely broke down and cleaned all my spinning reels today, next weekend I'm going to give the baitcasters a try. Normally I send them away to get cleaned but I've found a few good youtube videos and I think I can handle it. Now here my question, all of my baitcasters have Boca os7 bearings that I run dry. I want to continue running them dry after I clean them, so my question is what do I oil or not oil to keep them dry? Also what do you recommend I clean the bearings with? What should I use to get the orange seal off, and how hard is it to put it back in?
  2. Go with the 580G lenses. More money but worth it.
  3. I've had cheap ones and I've had Oakleys and now I have Costas. There is a difference between the cheap ones and the costas or Oakleys. I think the Oakleys are better than Costas, but that's just personal preference.
  4. This isn't the first time I tried this. The first time I used 10# Sufix and I kept breaking the leader off at the knot. I don't have any problems with the 20# and 6 or 8 # FC. I really just want something smaller for the 1000 size reel I've been using.
  5. This year I'm thinking about switching to braid and FC leader for all my spinning rods. I've been looking at sunline sx1 braid in 12 or 16#, but I can't find the diameter either of them are closest to in mono. TW doesn't list it and neither did the sunline website. Does anyone know? I was thinking 16 on my 2500 and 12 on my 1000 size reels.
  6. I use 6# sniper on my stradic 1000 and have not had any issues at all.
  7. Hog Farmer bait co.
  8. I still have 2 200d's. They are great and I've never had any problems with them. I need to send them off to get cleaned though its been a while.
  9. I've got 2 powells an endurance 775 casting and a Max 703 spinning. They are ok rods but I prefer my Loomis, Shimano and Dobyns over the Powells.
  10. Shimano is never included in their sale items, unless the item is on clearance already. Even then some Shimano items aren't.
  11. I leave after dinner Thursday and fish Dale Hollow until Sunday every year.
  12. That's what I'm looking for. I can change the way it sits in the water with an extra split ring or suspend dot but I need it to suspend right first.
  13. Thanks Dwight I will check them out.
  14. Ok so the pointer 100sp uses #5 treble hooks stock. I'm having trouble finding this size. Seems like mustad and gamakatsu don't make a #5 treble or at least TW doesn't stock them. Where can I find a #5 round bend treble? What other hooks do you recommend. I have a few baits I got from a friend who quit fishing, he replaced the hooks and they sink like rocks now. I want the baits to suspend like they do straight out of the box.
  15. That is how mine is wired. 14g wire directly from the battery to single pole throw switch then to a blue seas dual bus where my 2 HDS units and LSS2 is wired in.
  16. that's how I fish them too, stroke the jig a time or two along the way also.
  17. looks like its already sold.
  18. Just wondering if the 7' Med light Avid with a stradic 1000fj would be a good rod throwing shad raps, but also be sensitive enough to throw 1/8-1/4 hair jigs on also?

I've got one of the Falcon jerkbait boxes, its overcapacity, need to find another. Wish I could get my hands on one of them shimano boxes.
  20. I've got a core 100mg super tuned its hard to beat that reel.
  21. I've thought about using braid with a leader also. I'm usually not a fan of that but it is an option.
  22. the main purpose is to find a longer rod that will throw the light baits farther. Most of the lakes I would be fishing with this combo are void of weeds or deep clear highland reservoirs where long casts and small baits are necessary.
  23. I checked out the Academy here on Saturday they didn't have anything I was interested in. Honestly, I'm getting tired of going there they never have anything I want anymore.
  24. Well that sucks the stradic doesn't come with a spare spool anymore. thanks for the offer but I'm not interested in a custom rod.
