Dale Hollow In December- Tips?
December is a good month to go. Throw the big jig, float and fly, tailspinner, swimbait, and jigging spoon. I've been wanting to go night fishing there all summer but a car accident changed my plans. It will be too cold to night fish soon, but the day bite won't turn on til mid november. Good luck the last year and a half the size and numbers have been way down because of the fish kill. There are still plenty of good smallies to catch though, and even if you don't catch any its still one of the most beautiful lakes in the country.

Any Tips For Pickwick Lake?
More than you know! It's been 5 weeks since my truck was totaled towing my boat. Still shopping for a new truck and the boat is still in the shop!

Any Tips For Pickwick Lake?
I agree, most ledges have a sweet spot and if you don't hit it just right you won't get bit. I've got one spot that can't be more than 20x20 but if you hit it, you're catching fish every cast. But if your off your way off.

Guntersville Nasty Rumor
I heard that too, on another website. I really don't fish Gville that much but it would be a d**n shame if they really killed all the grass off on such an awesome place like that. From what I hear the milfoil and hydrilla are so thick in some places they are impassable but the whole lake is not like that. TVA killed all the grass in Chickamauga 20 years ago and ruined the lake until the last couple years.

Bank Fishing On Old Hickory
I dont know where he is talking about, but OH is more accessible from the bank than Percy Priest is. The only places I can think of are where I launch my boat at and thats Shutes branch and Davis Corner. Shutes branch has more space to fish from shore than Davis corner does though.

Percy Priest...where Are The Fish?
I've caught some fish there and off the bridge pilings in the past with a dropshot. Try throwing a small swimbait (Big Hammer 1/4oz head) parallel to the bluff wall or a crankbait.

Percy Priest...where Are The Fish?
Try fishing near the bridge on bluff wall side if you can. The channel runs along it, you should be able to walk around there. If not there you should be able to walk through the woods where the cut in the bluff wall is. You can also go in to stewarts creek or Jefferson creek but they are usually pretty crowded.

Dobyns Champion 705C
Ok I will let you know. I honestly think I can get what I paid out of it, I don't expect to. But I want to see what others think.

Dobyns Champion 705C
I bought the rod "new" but it was scratched up kind of bad during shipping to the dealer. So I got it for $140 "new". I just bought another 735c to replace the 705c, what would a fair asking price be to sell the 705? I've taken very good care of it, always in a rod sock. It's been a great rod. It has one deep scratch in the blank that I figured would break it, and I'd send it back for a warranty replacement, but its caught 100's of fish and never a problem.

Fishing Pickwick Lake
For $500 I'm not sure what you can get new, maybe an Lowrance Elite 5 with GPS. I would look for a used HDS 5 or Humminbird 798 unit. You can get a used Gen 1 HDS 5 for about $400.

Fishing Pickwick Lake
Yes I'm fishing the main river, but not the main river channel ledges. I've found my fish on submerged creek channel ledges close to the river channel. Basically I'm fishing the ditches that run along the flats into the river, because there aren't many "real" creeks I can think of in that section. I've looked at the main river ledges but I haven't found a lot there yet. Find a sharp drop about 5 feet with shell or chunk rock and you will find some fish, bait helps too, but hasn't been that important. My best spot is only about 10 yards wide but its has all 3 and just a little grass. Use your electronics, drive more, scan the area with down and side imaging if you have it, look for the sweet spots and mark them on the gps. Its a 2 hr drive for me to get to pickwick, some times I dont even bring a rod just to force me to learn something instead of just fish.

Fishing Pickwick Lake
I've been smashing them on the ledges in the 18-25 FOW range. C-rig, Football jig have done the most damage, but I've caught them on cranks, swimbaits, and spoons too. Mostly fish in the mid lake area.

Pickwick 6/1
It was rough out there with the wind but I'm glad we went there instead of KY lake, cause we probably wouldn't have been able to fish the main lake.
-
Pickwick 6/1
Fished from 6-3 between the Natchez Trace bridge and the Pickwick dam. We caught caught fish all day but did more scanning the ledges than fishing really. Found our best ledge in a creek channel swing in about 18-24 FOW. We caught 25 LM there in about an hour on a football jig. No big fish but lots of 2-3 lbers, Thunderstorms ran us off the lake and we left them biting. Ended up with 35 for the day. Water temp was 77.

3 Arm A Rig
I would put a heavier head on the bottom and probably just do one weightless t-rig swimabit and the other a dummy. The heavy weight will keep it from spinning on the retrieve.

Your First Boat And Your Experience?
I bought my first boat last year. Its a 2005 Polar Kraft HP 180 pro w/ a 150 Yamaha HPDI. I went with aluminum for my first boat because I figured I would bang it up learning to drive it, and its faster than most 18' glass boats with a 150 too. I will eventually upgrade to a bigger glass boat but not any time soon. It's perfect for me, I've upgraded the trolling motor and 2 HDS units w/ SS. All its missing is a power pole.

Big Hammer Swimbaits
When fished on a jighead with a slow retrieve, they are hard to beat. I throw the 3" on a 1/4oz head on a spinning rod and 4 and 5" on 1/2 or 5/8oz heads on a casting rod. Throw it out count it down or let it sink all the way to the bottom and just reel it in. I throw the sexy smelt and smallychaser color on sunny days and the threadfin shad or sara's shad on cloudy days.

Which Shimano Crucial For All Around Use? Help Me!

Center Hill Lake Tips
Center Hill was on FIRE this winter but haven't heard much in the last few weeks. The rain has brought the lake up a lot, and there is TONS of trash floating, so be careful out there. If I was going I would throw a jig, shaky head, or a fluke.

Lowarance/aluminum Help
I don't have any problems with my 2 HDS 5's on my tin rig. I have a slight interference with the trolling motor but it seems to come and go so I'm not to concerned about it. When I'm idling around the Sonar and SS are crystal clear too. My only issue is if I trim all the way up I will lose my depth reading, but that's not to big of a deal. If I don't know where I'm at I don't go fast anyway.

Yard Sale Score!!! (Or Not) You Tell Me...
If they work and you aren't expecting a lot from them you did fine for $10. All they will be able to do compared to today's units is tell you how deep the water is.

How Far Are You Willing To Push Your Boat
I'll only go back in as far as I can run. I'd rather not break anything. I have been in situations on the TN river in winter when getting back to ramp and putting the boat on the trailer is very difficult after the TVA pulled the bottom out of lake. LOL. That's real fun.
