Lc Pointer Replacement Hooks
Can anyone tell me what size hooks come on the pointer 100 and 78? Are they gamakatsu hooks? I thought they were round bend #6 gama's but they are too small.

Anyone Fishing Old Hickory Lake?
I'd suggest when you go in the yak, you go early and late in the summer. The midday traffic in that creek will flip you over. I've almost been knocked out of my boat by some of the wakes of those big cruisers.

Dobyns Champion 704 Cb Rod
Ok thanks

Dobyns Champion 704 Cb Rod
The reason I want the 704 is because I already have a 7' MHM crucial crankbait rod for throwing bigger square bills like LC's and deeper cranks like dt10's. It overpowers the smaller baits like the lil john and bandits, which I why I want the medium. If you think the 705 will be able to handle all of that I'll take your advice.

Dobyns Champion 704 Cb Rod
I'm buying a setup to fish smaller cranks like bandit 100-300, DT6, Spro lil johns etc around sparse cover (rocks, stumps). I can't decide if I should get the composite or glass rod. I've never owned a glass rod but I used my buddies once and liked how well it threw the baits. It's also $20 cheaper. I plan on pairing it with a Chronarch 50mg I have on another rod and buying a new chronarch 50 or ci4. Should be a sweet little setup.. What do you guys think?

you can put in at Davis Corner/Spencer creek and fish there all day. I catch fish in there year round.

Minn Kota Edge 70Lb Bow-Mount
You will like it over your old one for sure. I had one but I hated it. The 5 speed control was garbage, 1 and 2 were useless, 3 was ok in a little wind, 4 would only be able to keep you one spot in a strong wind, 5 was unusable because it would throw you out of the boat. I upgraded to a maxxum with variable speed and never looked back.

Never went. Spent the day fixing some things on the boat, got the tires rotated on the trailer and a new spare, changed the plugs on the motor.

Maintaining A Large Outboard
Change the lower unit oil once a year, make sure the plugs are clean, keep the fuel filters clean, change the water impellar yearly... I run ethanol free fuel in my Yamaha and use Yamaha ring free to keep the carbon build up at bay. I just had my LU oil changed, plugs, 3 fuel filters, and impellar this week, set me back $400. Those are all basic, routine maintenance anyone with a little time can do themselves. I just didn't have the time or space to do the job.

Float N Fly At Dale?
Had a great weekend on it 1/4-1/5. It wasn't ideal conditions for the bobber but it was droppin' consistently all weekend. A fly rod is only about $50, so the expense is worth it to me. You don't need a G Loomis fly rod to watch a bobber.

I hope the weathers good too.

Fished Dale Hollow 1/4-1/5. Had a decent weekend caught 6 smallies Saturday, and 2 Sunday before I left at 10. Didn't get to go this past weekend but should be back at it Saturday, somewhere around here...

What Was Your First Boat?
I had a 12' Pelican (plastic) jon boat with a 30# minn kota trolling motor and a cheap humminbird depth finder. Fished small ponds with it for a few years. Then I broke up with my gf and she claimed it. So I bought a 2005 polar kraft HP 180 pro w/ a 150 Yamaha, haven't looked back since.

Yamamoto Dt Hula Grub
Put it on a 1/2 oz football jig and drag it on the bottom. It's my bait of choice when nothing else works. Has turned a couple days of getting skunked into 20#+ sacks on KY and Barkley.

I'd be very surprised if that boat, motor, and trailer weighed more than 3000 loaded

A Rig/ Frog Rod
Powell 795 A Rig rod is a good dual purpose rod. I think it's actually better for the frog than the Rig though. The 775 endurance is a much better A rig rod.

Gore Tex Rain Gear
Not sure if this is the right forum but here it goes. I've got Cabelas Guidewear and its about 3 years old. I've never washed them or anything. They've probably only gotten wet 3 times, I mostly just wear it when its cold. How do I was them and what is the stuff called that you spray on it to keep the gore tex repelling water?

Hoppy's Jigs
I don't use their jigs but I buy their skirts and make my own jigheads. The LA craw is a great color on the TN river.

Hard Wiring Hds To Battery
Looks like the wiring isn't the problem. Got out this morning everything looked good. Charged the batteries last night, had 12.4 all day on both units and ran the livewell all day. Still don't have structure scan, it might be a blown fuse, or a bad ethernet cable (as stupid as that sounds). I'm guessing fuse since it has no power at all. Will look into that tomorrow.

Hard Wiring Hds To Battery
I was waiting for your input Wayne. I cleaned all the connections this evening and made sure everything was tight, both units turned on properly and the one at the console even showed 12.1v, the bow unit only showed 10.5. Thats a positive for me! I'm going fishing tomorrow to see how they work when the motor is running. If they work then I only have one problem and thats the "no source" I get on my LSS. If they still don't work right I'll be rewiring them on sunday!

Hard Wiring Hds To Battery
Yes I will be using a fuse.

Hard Wiring Hds To Battery
I shouldn't say eliminate the fuse panel... That is staying. all my lights, bilge, livewell are connected there and work fine. I just meant bypass it and directly wire the units to the battery.
