  1. I have been throwing them on my 7.1:1 curado since I bought it in january. Even in 40* water I have tearing them up on the burner reel. All I need is a little sun and some clouds and its trap time!!!!!
  2. 15lb yo-zuri hybrid, smooth and sensitive. I can feel the slightest tap. X2 on changing the hooks on rat-l-traps, however I bought a couple with the sure set hooks and haven't lost a fish yet!!!!
  3. I have a 12ft pelican (plastic) jon boat, thats rated for a 6HP. Right now all I have is a 28# trolling motor. I was looking on craigslist.com and found an almost brand new 5 HP briggs and stratton (1 Hr on the motor supposedly) for $700. Does anyone own this brand of motor. I know they make good lawnmower engines, but how are their marine engines? How fast would it push me through the water? Would I just be better off upgrading to a #50 trolling and saving some money?
  4. I took it back to Dick's this morning and exchanged it for another one. They didn't have any 7'0 med fast spinning rods left so I went with the 6'6. They are also having a sale this week. The sign said St. Croix premiere's starting @ 59.99 but I didn't see any for that price. I did however pick up a couple bags of yamasenko's which were 2 for $11. Not much of a savings but I was running low.
  5. read it and thought the same thing. Why not just go buy the rod you need for the application.
  6. I was wondering the same thing today, as I watched these 3 guys getting skunked with their cheap-o spincast and push button reels, while I was slaying them on my nice stradic/ St. croix rod. Then my brand new rod broke.... Maybe its karma
  7. So I went to the local golf course pond after work today to do a little fishing. I brought along my 2 month old stradic and st. croix premeire combo, and was tearing them up on a watermelon seed senko. While the other fishermen were getting ticked off because they weren't catching anything. Then after the bite had slowed down considerably, I get another bite, set the hook and my almost brand new rod explodes right at the fore grip. WTH!!!! I couldn't believe it. Shards of graphite flew into the pond. I was dumbfounded. So tomorrow I will take it back to dicks and exchange it or return it, just can't decide right now. Any suggestions? I guess it was a bad blank, but who know. I do know it shouldn't have broken like that. S.O.B. >
  8. curado 200dhsv on a 7'0 M St. Croix premiere
  9. Anyone fished priest lately? I was out there for a few hrs last saturday and got skunked. My buddy caught a nice 5lb striper but that was the only fish of the day. We may go back sometime soon and I am looking for a point in the right direction.
  10. Ive only had one pair of polarized Oakley's and they have gray/black lense. I used them for sight fishing today actually and they really helped me. I can't say they are better than the amber color but they work for me.
  11. Berkeley 10in power worm in red shad always does the trick for me

croc flip flops in the summer and adidas running shoes any other time
  13. I just got some C.C. Super Spots for $.99 at academy. I bought all the colors they had. I heard the bass pro fishing classic had them for $.98 so I will go and get some other colors tom. I lose a bunch of these baits every year and every brand has caught fish (rat-l-traps, Super spots, Strike King diamond shad, etc...) Can't beat that price.
  14. I just bought this reel and now I need a rod to go with it. I plan on using this reel for jigs and worms. I am looking for a 7'0 -7'6 MH fast action rod for $100 or less? Can anyone point me in the right direction? Also this question is for Roadwarrior. I bought some yo-zuri hybrid 15#, what diameter mono is it equal to and what lb test? The box says it will hold 110yd of 14#, I just want to make sure a big striper won't run all the line off this reel if I use it striper fishing.
  15. Well thanks everyone for your input. I spooled it up with the rest of #8 line just incase I hook into something big and he runs all the line off my reel.
  16. I am not totally sure, but the booklet that came with my stradic FI, mentioned the sustain in every subject in it. It looks to me that there isnt much difference besides the $100 price gap.
  17. I have a new stradic 2500FI ready to go with 8# yo-zuri hybrid. It came with a spare spool, so should I fill the spare up too? The hybrid is supposed to last all season if I am correct. How long can line stay fresh on an unused spool? Should I switch them out every once in a while?
  18. I didnt vote because the only shimano baitcaster I have wasnt listed. Its a cardiff 200a, but I love it. And for $90 it was worth every penny.
  19. It will definately make a difference. I got a pair of oakley polarized sunglasses from x-mas and they were great until my dog ate them last month. There went $150! Luckily my girlfriend replaced them for valentines day. In the mean time though I was using my cheap unpolarized back-ups and it was horrible. The glare off the water was so bad I couldnt even find my lure when I was casting. Take the plunge it is worth it.
  20. Shimano Stradic 2500 FI. Bought mine off ebay for $125 shipped. Its a great reel and very smooth.
  21. I like the rapala DT series bluegill it tears em up around these parts. As well as the perch color pop-r.

These are one of my favorite cranks, I have banged them off rocks, trees, whatever and I have never seen that happen.
  23. i just bought a cardiff 200 last month. I have used it a few times and it seems really smooth and casts well. I've never used the C3 so I can't comment on that but I recommend the cardiff.
  24. I have a Mitchell 308 spinning reel that was my dads or my uncles. My grandparents cleaned out their attic and it ended up in my hands. the drag is broken, but i dont want to throw it away.

thanks for the help guys. I hope I can use it soon, it was 75* yesterday, then the tornados and cold front came through so I will have to wait a little while to fish again.
