  1. A 55lb MinnKota Edge would be a good fit. I run a 70lb Edge on my 16ft Nitro and it acts as if it where a 101lb MinnKota!! However mine is a 24v so in your situation go w/ the 55. YOU WONT REGRET A MINNKOTA!!! ;D
  2. Berkley Powerbait are awesome!!! I love the Power Hawgs the most!
  3. Quicksilver is actually made by Mercury and is a good oil. However, the synthetic Quicksilver is way better, atleast thats my concensous when my friend who owns a 150hp Mariner switched. I run Yamalube which is a synthetic blend and the only smoke out of my Yamaha i get is when it first starts up. Carburated motors will smoke more compared to efi and efi smokes more than DFI motors. I don't know why you guyz disconnect the oil injection and mix it with your gas, but than again your not running a Yamaha .
  4. If I know the fish are there, but they aren't biting, I'll throw anything and everything at em'. But I also agree with the others that it could be something as simple as changing your angle of attack.
  5. I've had equal success with both series. I usually use the spooks because they are cheaper but I like the fact that the Sammys come in more realistic colors.
  6. 2002 Nitro 640LX 2003 Yamaha 90hp TLR 19" Yamaha aluminum prop (looking for a stainless steel) 70lb Minn Kota Edge Lowrance LMS520C at consol Vexilar FL-18 at bow GPS: 46 tourny load, 49 light load
  7. That isn't right. I have a Minn Kota Edge too and mine doesn't bow that much, it has a little but not like yours.
  8. The Zoom worms are both good. Don't have any experience on the BPS.
  9. Nope. Don't need to when they already have the best scent in the world!!
  10. Not a single one yet. If you use them and treat them properly they'll last forever. Well maybe not forever, cuz more than likely u'll replace it with something better 5 or 8 years down the road.
  11. Currently I'm runnin a Nitro but hopefully in the next year or two I'll get a skeeter or ranger.
  12. I second the Keel Guard. Most boats will float in a foot of water, but some brands will go skinnyer.
  13. I'm like what you want to be and loyal to using one brand Shimano. But since that isn't one of your choices time to go to plan b. For me I would never choose Quantum (too hold together well enough for me), So that leaves Diawa and Garcia. I would have to go with Abu Garcia because after toying around with a buddies Revo's if I wasn't a Shimano man these would be it for me.
  14. 8lb braid is about the equal of 1lb mono (Power Pro is anywayz). AWESOME STUFF!!
  15. As much as I love my Falcon rods, I do know that they overate the power rating. Heavy is actually MH in my mind. It is a good rod and its too bad your not going to give it a chance. I might just have to take it off ur hands.
  16. I would drop down to 10lb fluoro, but if you are in really heavy weeds, go ahead and use the 12lb. I use 10lb P-line 100% fluoro for both and haven't broke it yet, even when ripping cranks through the grass.
  17. I stopped reading Homers advise after reading them in my first issue I recieved. I bet that when he gets his reels repaired his bill is so much it would've been better to spend an extra $5 to get a new one. ;D ;D ;D
  18. I use a 7'MH FLW rod. (this rod is no longer in production I believe, got it at Walmart back in 2000 for $30 and it is awesome!!! Best $30 rod ever, is as good as $150 rod). I use a Shimano Bantam Citica that has had a few upgrades done to it with a 5.2:1 gear ratio. I spool that with 10lb P-Line 100% fluorocarbon.
  19. I use RAM mounts for the bow and console graphs because i can adjust them to where I can see them the best for the light/sun conditions. I can also compare depths from the bow graph with the transducer mounted on the trolling motor to the console graph that is mounted in the bilge area of my boat. Makes it useful in fishing ledges and its kinda cool to know that the bow is only 6ft deep and the aft of the boat is over 20ft.
  20. So I'm currently watching the FLW event on Guntersville, and I don't know if its me or the show but the commentators are so ANNOYING!!! Every time the angler says something, makes a cast, or sets the hook they got to comment on it by stating the obvious! I can see that David Walker just set the hook, you don't have to comment by saying, he hooks up with a good one (note its a dink), he needs to get him in the boat. When they make a comment they wait for the angler to do something else before they make another comment, so theres a long pause and its bothersome! Also, when the commentators laugh, it seems either really cheessy or fake! I'm sorry but just because David Fritts says he can't see in the shade of the bridge doesn't mean you can laugh because a normal person doesn't find any humor in it. I also hate how they switch anglers every 45-60 sec. They do a few things right on the show, like describe what lure and line test the angler is using. But I think I'll stay with BassMaster Elite Series. Sorry guyz just had to vent.
  21. I use 20lb P-line CXX if the fish will let me get away with it, otherwise I drop down to 15lb P-Line CXX
  22. AWWW MAN!!! That really SUCKS!!! That is INSANE!! Stupid speeding, think they know better, drivers!!! I would've chewed her out MAJOR TIME!! After all your hard work. Glad your okay dude. Hope insurance pays for it.
