  1. Rattles are a must in my mind. I have no confidence in throwing jigs w/out rattles, due to personal experience. If I was you I would tie on two identical jigs, one w/ a rattle and the other w/ none, on simular rod setups and fish one for an hour or so then switch to see what seems to work for you.
  2. RattleTraps!!! Besides them the only cranks I throw in spring are the Storm Wiggle Wart Rapala Shad Rap
  3. Gemini does great work!
  4. The trolling motor is not a prob. there should be a plate w/ screws that have the trim and tilt buttons up at the bow. Take the plate off and reach under and find the bolts and nuts that keep the trolling motor on. With a buddy, reach under w/ a wrench and place it over the nut and have your friend loosen the bolt. Do this to all of them. Then hopefully your installing the same trolling motor brand, line up the holes and put the bolts in, put the nut on and tighten. The bilge and the tuning of the engine, a marine shop will charge you atleast $70 an hour and I would say it'll take 2-3hrs.
  5. Lets not forget that the price is outragous! A Allison w/ a 175 Optimax is about $45,000! For that price I could get a Z19 w/ a 225 Optimax that will have alot better fishability, decent speed, and better resale value. + I can find one anywhere.
  6. G3 knows how to build a good boat thanx to being a Yamaha company. Congrats on the new rig!!!
  7. I'm with you there. The MidWarts were discountinued a few years ago.. i believe the last bunch I was able to get was in 2004. I'm thinking about contacting Storm to see if they still have the mold (which I'm sure they do) and try to get a bulk order. I'm with you, I had about 25 of them and through the years of fishing them nearly everyday, my supply has dwindled to 3.
  8. It seems soo sadly. :'( They replaced devcon with Loctite 5min Epoxy which i'm going to try for epoxying parts on my baits. For my finish I use Flex Coat Rod Finish.
  9. I have to think that because times are down, that BASS is trying to save money and just survive until the economy turns around. The PWT is no longer around because of this. I believe that when the economy turns around BASS will go back to 11 events, but until then it needs a way to continue its events without spending too much money to the point where they can no longer afford to run the circuit.
  10. These are very easy to install. I added a Keel Guard to my Nitro a few years ago. Took about 10-15 mins. Just follow the instructions. Make sure you put it where you want it so that the guard will protect the keel the most. I kinda put mine about a inch too far up. And make sure you do it on a warm day. The awesome thing about them is that once there installed they can be used right away thanks to the 3M backing.
  11. cedar is awesome. next to balsa, its the very easy to carve, sand, and finish. however, i've had problems with it chiping as I carve and haven't found a way around it. Maybe 1 out of 3 baits end up getting chipped as i carve which makes the project take longer to carve and sand. floats very well although, i've found it takes quite a bit of weight to get them to sink.

Skeet totally deserves it!! Can't wait for the video to air.
  13. P-Line 100% Fluoro. Get 250 yards for $14-$21 which is 50 yards more than competitors in or near that price range. Very sensitive and cast flawlessly (even more with KVD line and Lure). My self would love to try out 100% Trilene but P-Line has been so dependable its hard give Trilene a chance. ;D
  14. I own both and Citica E is by far the best. I've only had mine for 2 days and it is my new favorite reel even when I compare it my Chronarch D.
  15. I just bought a 7' 11" St. Croix Mojo Swimbait rod. Haven't fished it yet cause there is still 3ft of ice on the lakes. From my testing so far it'll do a great job. Otherwise if your spending more money I would get the Lamiglass b/c thats what I've heard is the best rod for swimbaits.
  16. I guess I'm the only one who doesn't notice a big difference between the two. I own two Cruxis and two Citica D's and love them all the same. Now if you were to compare the Cruxis to the Citica E than big differnce. I would spend the extra money and get a Citica E. I plan on upgrading all my Citica D's and Cruxis to the Citica E .
  17. Raise your motor up and push on the end of it and in most cases no matter how thick the transom is it'll flex. Put a transom saver on and try this test again. It'll be rock solid and the transom won't flex. The saver is transfering all the shock from the motor to the trailer instead of the transom. Best $40 insurance ever!! Just make sure you don't forget to take it off when your about to launch. Seen one guy leave it on, backed his boat into the water and just as he started to get on plane the transom saver hit the bottom and it broke off and the prop hit it. He needed a new prop. He was very thankful it didn't damage the lower unit.
  18. To me Firetiger is a very versitle lure color. I think it imitates 3 creatures bass prey upon. 1. Yellow Perch (Big bass up here in the northland love em') 2. Sunfish ( A staple forage no matter where you go) 3. Crawfish (This one is for when fishing around rocks. It imitates a green colored crawfish perfectly in my mind) Tell me any other colors you can think of that imitates atleast 3 prey items? I have a hard time coming up with one. ;D
  19. x5 for the rattletraps.
  20. where is the Trilene Sensation?? I love that stuff. I can't seem to break 8lb Sensation off.
  21. Bow and Arrow trick is what I notice alot of guys do around my area. I haven't mastered the technique yet so I'll stick with my retriever.
  22. Another vote for Rapala.
  23. I fish both sides, depending on which way my boat is facing and the direction I'm going in. I have my sonor mounted to a RAM mount next to my trolling motor pedel and with the RAM I can swivel the sonor anyway so I can adjust it to my view.
  24. On a scale of uglyness with 0 being not ugly, and 100 ugly it rates at 1,000,000,000!!!! Unique? YES! Ugly? YES!
  25. Actually, they have been making fluoro since they started business 2 or 3 years ago. I really don't care for it, one spool you won't have any problems with but the another spool from the same peg at the tackle store will be nothing but constant breakoffs.
